Chapter 22 - Molding Two Elements

It had been a few days since the testing of the nanobots and Mira refused to talk with Kagami the day after that. The main cause was because she felt embarrassed because her great grandfather gave her a 'talk'. However, the day after that she was back to normal and helped him with transforming the warehouse.

So while the clones were off remodeling or fixing the various spots that they discovered that needed to be touched up. The main bodies were off to the side doing their own thing by looking over data or light elemental training.

"What are you looking at? It has been over two hours." Mira asked curiously.

"A few touches on a jutsu we are about to try. It's just that the molding of chakra is a bit difficult. I want to simplify it a bit, but the problem is I have no reference or experience in this type of jutsu yet. So I can't cut down the slight inefficiently so the chakra cost is a bit higher than I wanted." Kagami answered honestly.

"Kagami, we aren't on the battlefield at the moment. So what if we use a bit more chakra?" Mira said that was reasonable.

"I guess, and it will probably be faster than just decoding it." Kagami answered as he put away the tablet. "Let's go to the open ground behind the warehouse. While it is not as big as a training ground, we can test it there."

The small clearing behind the warehouse was pretty wide and Kagami was debating whether to use it for a testing ground or construct something there later to store the larger projects. However, since he neither had the money, resources or the laboratory to do any large projects at this time. It will work just fine as a testing ground.

"So what jutsu are we doing?" Mira asked since she noticed he always said "we".

"We are going to attempt to mold two elements together to produce the special chakra needed to release an elemental kekkei genkai. So, how is your Water and Earth Nature Transformation?" Kagami asked as he stretched a bit.

"They are a bit behind since they aren't my affinity." Mira answered as she held up two slips of paper and one was soaked in a few seconds while the other crumbled.

Rubbing his chin, Kagami thought for a moment, before he answered. "It should be fine, it will just take a bit longer for you before you can cast. However, after testing we should try one with your affinities."

"Really? Are you that confident this idea of yours will even work?" Mira asked. "From what I've been told, using elemental kekkei genkais requires an ancestor who used it."

"Mira, I believe no one really gave it much thought past what you just said. The kekkei genkai must come from somewhere. So what if their ancestor was just immensely talented and unconsciously able to combine the two? Then their children, believing they could also form the kekkei genkai and after many generations it really did become a kekkei genkai passed down by blood."

"I suppose that is a reasonable theory." Mira nodded while not fully believing but also not dismissing it either.

"Right, and if this works then we can find the limits of the various kekkei genkais." Kagami was giddy at the mere thought.

This after all was one more step towards his goal of exploring chakra and various elemental kekkei genkais. So if this worked, he wouldn't need to track down the various elemental kekkei genkais users and try to collect their data.

"Alright, now tell me what we are doing." Mira said. "Also give me the hand seals."

Feeling her eyes on him, Kagami sweated a bit. Luckily he did come up with the various hand seals for her, since she refuses to just clap her hands like him. She said it was just strange and not handsome like he thinks it is.

'At least the First will agree with me. Just need to ask him when I meet his impure world.' Kagami thought.

After flashing through a small series of hand seals for her which she noted down with her Sharingan. The two were ready to begin their first test.

Standing a bit away from each other, both began to channel their chakra and began to mold the chakra into the two natures. Kagami felt that the merging was a bit difficult and took more chakra then he originally thought as beads of sweat coated his forehead. However, this was mostly due to inexperience in molding two chakras at the same time so a bit more was wasted.

Then in a single clap of his hands, he unleashed the jutsu in front of him.

Wood Release: The Bonsai Tree.

After a few moments and a large drain on his chakra as it dipped down to a quarters well a strange feeling flowing into his body. A small tree poked out of the ground and soon a small bonsai tree appeared before him. Which showed that his theory had worked, but that he needed to refine it a bit more. He made the mental note to also look into increasing his chakra reserves and investigate that strange feeling.

Looking over to Mira who was panting as a tree similar to his was before her but a bit smaller. She grinned before she laid on the ground.

"I'm so out of chakra." Mira groaned. "However, I guess your idea was right."

"Yeah, but it needs work." Kagami replied, taking a seat next to her. "Did you feel that strange sensation entering your body when you casted?"

"Eh, now that you mentioned it. Yeah, I did." Mira answered after a moment. "Is it something bad?"

Kagami thought about it and reached into his Science Space and mind as he reviewed the jutsu. A bunch more lines appeared as well and another note was recorded in his Science Space. However, it was listed as unknown as he himself didn't know or felt it before, though he did have some inkling but no way to test it for now.

"I don't believe so, but I put it on the list to investigate in the future." Kagami said.

"Ok, but it felt like most of my chakra went into forcefully balancing that feeling." Mira muttered.

Kagami just made a mental note as he had that feeling and a theory on what it was. However, he isn't in a rush to learn it nor had the chakra reserves to do so anyways. Maybe after he figured a way to increase his and Mira chakra reserves will he actually dive into that feeling more.
