After completing our mission we followed Suzaku Sensei to the training ground 7, through the last 2 months we have had a set routine, we do some training in the morning, then a mission, and then training again into the night before we either have dinner together or leave early to get some good sleep. I don't know what we have planned for today but Sensei mentioned that every month he would help us incorporate something new into our training.
"So, I guess since your teammate is being brought down by these things you should try them too?" Sensei pulled out two pairs of legwarmers, they looked flimsy but we knew what that meant, Sensei gave me a pair of them for my last month's upgrade, he mentioned only wearing leg weights for now in order to not stunt my growth by for some reason due to gamer's body that actually benefits me.
Apparently, the STR still increases even if I train just my length because technically my legs are growing strong, so because of that the strength of my whole body increased as a whole, but the training had done wonders for my stamina and speed. Another thing I realized because of this training is that the higher stats didn't just increase my strength quantitatively but qualitatively as well, but so does the grind.
In the last five days of using weights all the time, my strength had gone up by one, while earlier during the month it would go up by one every 2 days, and this result is after doubling the weight.
'I am up to 100kgs in each leg and the results are still... thank god I have been saving my points, though I would use them when going for my first C-rank mission, or maybe I should save them for the Chunin exams...'
As I debated the use of the store of points that I had saved, Asano was whining while putting on the weights, I liked using weights, they give me a feeling that I am growing stronger every day, but I am not going to increase these unless it is really necessary, I mean wearing 700kg weights like Rock lee in the show just seemed absurd.
"As for you, Fujii-kun, I will address the issue that you asked me about last month, chakra control... seeing that you have managed to completely master the water walking exercise to the point of molding chakra for Jutsu's, we would move forward with the next step training for chakra control, there are two ways to go about it, one is shape manipulation," he put his hand up and released chakra in small bursts, it wasn't easily visible to the naked eye, but my senses clearly felt chakra leaving the tenketsu from his arm and then swirl around his hand, his chakra was still in his control even after leaving his hand. While Sensei started explaining Fujii wanted to jump with joy, he found an excuse to 're-create' the Rasengan...
'Plus it's an A-ranked Jutsu, I could grind both my chakra control, gain a deadly jutsu and gain SP and EP for that...'
"...you need to focus and try and keep control of the chakra you are releasing, you can sense it probably so it would be a bit easier for you to realize, now there are steps to mastering shape manipulation..." Sensei stopped and I had to wonder what he was talking about, this wasn't in the manga...
He pulled out a leaf and placed it on top of his hand, "...now when you release a burst of chakra..." the leaf was pushed away and it floated on the ground, "...that happens," he picked the leaf up and continued, "...now what the point of this exercise is to make the leaf float just at a fixed height," the leaf floated just half a foot above his hand, I could on the other hand watch as a steady stream of chakra kept escaping his hand and keeping it afloat.
"Now this exercise is normally not taught to genin or even chunin but since you have mastered the rest this is the next step, although if you want to get even better chakra control after that, I would recommend visiting the Konoha Hospital, they have a separate program that allows genin and chunin that have good chakra control to learn a few basic medical jutsu and chakra control techniques..." I gave him a nod, while a chakra scalpel sounds good I knew that creating the Rasengan would be better, not just for his skill trees, but it was a powerful jutsu as well.
'But I don't want to have a target on my back...' I went back to my thoughts, the pros and cons of creating or not creating the Rasengan were stumbling in my head.
I went to a nearby tree and grabbed a leaf, placing it on my palm I concentrated and felt my chakra burst out of the tenketsu and blow the leaf away, I tried it a few more times before forceful yet simultaneous bursts of chakra allowed me to finally gain the skill.
[New Skill Created: Leaf Floating exercise (Active/Passive): Lv 1 (0.13%)]
[Using small concentrated bursts of chakra released from your hands you float a leaf above your hand, this is the first step to shape transformation training, shape transformation helps control the chakra after it has been released from your body.]
{CP cost: 10/s}
{Passive}{+1% to chakra control, +1% per level}
{Passive}{1% less Chakra required for all jutsus, +1% per level}
'wait, what... wasn't this supposed to be 4% per level considering that water walking alone gave me 2% per level, it should have doubled right? game? system?'
I complained in my mind before focusing on the exercise, on the first try I managed to keep the leaf afloat for 1 sec, then that time increased to 2 seconds after a couple of minutes of practicing, my hand felt like burning from the strain of keeping this exercise active but I pushed past it and continued until I looked at my chakra, almost all of it was gone, I forgot that I was continuously pushing a lot of chakra out of my hand, which made me think of another thing, my chakra reserves while vast for my age were still Chunin level, how am I going to even try and create Rasengans, I can't keep spamming it like Naruto...
Seeing my chakra was still low I walked toward Asano and asked, "How about a spar, it would make getting used to them easier..."
