Warming up and learning the basic

The fighter class of first years were all outside in the training grounds.

There teacher Iruka was organizing matches to evaluate her students grasp over taijutsu.

"So, umm... sensei." Said a chubby girl while raising her hand.

She was in the middle of the training ground, facing another girl that had a lazy demeanor and kept starring at the sky.

Iruka stoped looking at her clipboard, and raised her head to pay attention to her student's doubt.

"The thing is... uh ...I really don't wanna have to fight with against my friends you know." The girl stated.

Hearing her words, most of the kids began chatting about how cowardly their classmate was acting.

Iruka cleared her throat, making everyone pay attention, and gave her answer.

"Well... Akimichi-San, this isn't like a fight. This is traditional hand-to-hand combat. Even our Hokage and those before her participated in such drill and became stronger through sparring."

While the teacher gave her explanation, the lazy-looking student began to walk away.

"Yeah... hum ...look sensei. Just go ahead and put that I went out of bounds, okay? And then you can move on to the next pair." Was what she said, not even paying attention to the teacher response.

At that, the chubby girl nodded and walked away as well.

This made the other kids chatter even more, even the girl with a puppy commented about it with the hooded girl in shades.

Seeing both students so dismissive of her task, Iruka could only facepalm.

'Ugh, these noble kids just do whatever they want. It's a pitty, who knows what their potential could be if they were dedicated.' She mentally remarked.

"C'mom Shika! You are the laziest kid I've ever met! And Cho, you are just a coward!" Yelled a blond boy to the kids forfeiting their match.

"Forget it, just do the reconciliation seal girls." Iruka relented.

Both girls met again, after joining the other students, and locked their index and middle fingers around each other.

"Good, unison sign complete. Next up is... Naruko Uzumaki!" The teacher announced.

"Yeah! Believe it!" The blonde girl cheered enthusiastically.

Once again, the students began to gossip among themselves.

"Wait, Uzumaki? Is she foreign?" One kid said.

"I don't know. Probably though, I can't recall the Uzumaki clan being from the fire country." Another answered.

"And Satsuki Uchiha! Step forward you too." The teacher ordered.

After hearing the second name, most of the boys began shouting words of support.

"GO GET HER! YOU CAN DO IT!"

"MAN, SHE IS TOTALLY GONNA WIN! I'M SURE OF IT!"

"Let's go! I'm gonna win this for sure!" Said Naruko to herself.

Her white eyed friend nodded in support.

"All right you two, it's just..." The teacher began explaining, before being interrupted by Naruko.

"C'mom, let's begin already!" She asked while fist bumping herself.

"Hey, please calm down Uzumaki-San. You must do the spar sign before engaging in combat." Was Iruka answer.

"That's stuff isn't necessary. I just want to hurry up and defeat this smug moron you know." She declared while pointing at her adversary.

"Whatever loser, but I'll make this quick if that's what you want."

"Enough both of you! Good grief, you might think it's stuffy to be so formal. But here at the academy, we have great respect for traditions." The teacher began lecturing the whole class.

Iruka continued. "The spar sign represents your intention to fight. Along with the unison sign, they indicate that you recognize each other as comrades. That's the etiquette our students must follow."

"Okay, I get it" Was Naruko's answer, and both she and Satsuki made the spar sign.

Glad she made her students understand the importance of traditions, she then announced loudly. "BEGIN!"

They run to each other before clashing.

They engage in exchanging blows for a few seconds.

Although Naruko's attacks packed quite the punch, she wasn't fast enough to precisely hit her opponent. Only barely grazing once or twice.

On the other hand, although Satsuki's attacks were faster than her opponent could block, her only option against someone with great resilience, was to strike in critical parts or trying to make Naruko trip.

Naruko's axe kicks shook the ground a little, but weren't able to hit home.

In the case of Satsuki, she was sidestepping her opponent's strikes.

It was then that, Satsuki managed to land a precise kick right behind the knee.

Making the blonde girl kneel in pain.

But when the raven haired girl decided to capitalize on her success and end the mach. She received a sucker punch from her kneeling opponent.

Although she managed to block. The force of the punch made her slide backwards a little.

When Naruko charged at her, she staggered a little because of the pain in her leg.

This was all it took for Satsuki to hit her with a reverse crescent kick right in the face.

And so, Naruko was knocked to the ground.

When she regained the strength to get up, her opponent was already pinning her to the ground.

And it was then that both of them looked at each other's eyes, staying that way for a few seconds.

Most of those present were briefly paralyzed with shock, until someone shouted.

"WOW! THEY ARE SOOO COOOOLL!"

And then most students began cheering compliments for the duo.

Especially for Naruko, whom nobody knew anything about her origins.

"So fast!" Was the remark of the lazy girl, who just stopped observing the clouds.

"Satsuki wins! Both of you did very well! Now make the unison sign!" Iruka ordered after announcing the end of the match.

But both of the girls simply turned their heads away.

But after another lecture of their teacher they simply approached one another.

When suddenly...

Both girls grabbed each other by the collar.

Before the teacher separated them both, they exchanged some words.

After that, the hand to hand class ended.

*A ringing bell was heard. The sound went off throughout the academy.

Class has ended.

The Holy Flame Academy's students rushed out of the huge gates, and passed through the bustling street in front.

This street was filled with all kinds of items.

No matter what item, be it expensive or cheap, can be found here.

The merchants sounded off one after another.

"Latest Bronze rank armours! With Fire Patterns inscribed on them! Noble ladies and gentlemen, are you interested?"

A vendor with a green tunic greeted the crowd with so much enthusiasm.

This had soon attracted the attention of many students.

Bronze rank armour isn't something an ordinary student can afford.

However, within the Holy Flame Academy, there's still a lot of children of nobility.

Some of them are extremely loaded, and they can sell to those rich students if they were lucky enough.

"Look, Bronze rank armour with Fire Patterns inscribed on it!"

The students were excited and talked to one another.

A pair of gauntlets were exuding a deep red light.

The surface was covered with mysterious carvings and revealed a faint sight of burning embers.

"How much is this?" One student asked in a low voice.

"Sixty thousand yen!" The vendor said while smiling.

"By the sage, so expensive!"

An ordinary family couldn't even accumulate sixty thousand yen in ten years.

"This is Bronze rank armour with Fire Patterns inscribed on it.

The Fire Pattern was drawn using the blood of a Fire Salamander.

The Salamander was at its prime before being killed.

The Fire Salamander isn't easy to hunt.

Their characteristics also made the gauntlets gain a strong attacking ability.

This is definitely a suitable armour for Fighters or Shinobis with the affinity for Fire!" The vendor bragged as he introduced the armour.

Many students looked at the pair of gauntlets with greed, but they still left.

Such an expensive item isn't something they can afford.

"If Bronze rank armour alone costs sixty thousand yen, then wouldn't Silver rank armour and Gold rank armour be even more expensive?" Rocky realized.

Her monthly allowance was less then fifty yen, that being everything she received from the orphanage.

And although Tenko is from an aristocratic clan with more influence and prestige, Bronze rank armour isn't something he can lightly afford.

Yen is the currency used in Leaf City.

Usually, two to three thousand yen would be sufficient for a commoner family's annual expenses.

The value of items in Leaf City is measured with yen.

For example: battle armours, beast souls, elixirs and various other items.

The Holy Flame Academy's annual school fee would be around three thousand yen for regular students.

Only those living in the Leaf orphanage were accepted without fee, only requested to progress or they will lose this right.

As for a commoner family, the fee would be a huge.

But a lot of commoner families would rather live frugally and send their children to the Holy Flame Academy.

This is because, once they become a Fighter or a Shinobi, even if it's only Bronze rank, they can change their family's fate.

A Bronze rank Fighter, or even a Genin, would have an annual income of about five to six thousand yen while accomplishing missions.

At the same time, they can also venture into the St. Ancestral Jungle and gain more benefits from harvesting it.

Bakura belongs to the Haruno clan.

The clan's annual income is around one hundred thousand yen. But at least the clan's annual expenses weren't very large.

Just the expenses of his academy fees would be around thirty thousand Ryo.

Him and his parents, along with a few aunts and uncles with their families, often had to struggle to make ends meet.

His mother, the Matriarch once said that he, the oldest of the younger generation, could get the clan to rise by becoming an outstanding student.

Even if they had to live with a high toll, they would let every single young generation have the largest nurturing they could give.

As a member of the Haruno clan, he also wanted the clan to grow stronger and become Leaf City's top level.

Bakura somehow knew a lot of powerful cultivation techniques.

He even knew how to test his Chakra's attributes and affinities without needing to buy a chakra crystal or paper.

When he do, he would decide on which cultivation technique to practice with.

If the cultivation technique matches one's chakra attributes and affinities, then training would be more effective.

And so Bakura, Tenko, and Rocky Li walked around as they observed the shops.

"Haruno-san, what are you planning to buy?" asked Tenko, confused while his classmate looked around.

"For now, I'm lacking basic tools equipment. Wrap this basic kit up for me please." Bakura lightly said to Tenko before turning to the vendor.

"Yes, young master!"

The vendor nodded upon hearing his new client words and wrapped the basic kit up.

"It will be fifty yen."

Bakura took out five Ryo.

*A single ryo represents ten yen.

Bakura heard several girls around him let out light muffled voices.

'I'm popular already? Hope so. Better than, the joke of the class.'

Looking around he saw some familiar faces passing by.

'Satsuki?' Bakura noticed.

Satsuki's expression was cold.

She just recently have became a lone wolf, and doesn't have much contact with the other students.

And surprisingly, Naruko was there as well.

'Is she following me? Or is it Satsuki she is after? For now, who cares!'

Bakura knows that what Naruko wants the most right now is friendship.

Being recognized and accepted was what drove her original counterpart, not sure what drives her now.

In the original story, Naruto always wanted to be friends with Sasuke, but the uchiha always tried to cut ties with him instead.

"Hey, that kid already knows the transform technique, did you knew? But I once saw her transforming into a dude. Haruno-San, she wouldn't be into females, right?" Tenko blinked, questioning Bakura.

Bakura laughed.

'She didn't helped her chances of making friends, did she?'

"Where should we go now guys?"

Tenko and Rocky Li expressions turned into pondering.

"Tenko, I want to train my aim with kunais. I will buy some for me, do you need some as well?" Bakura asked Tenko, who shook his head laughing. "You may go, I'll go ahead to the school's training ground."

"Okay!" Said Bakura nodding his head and finding his companion's antics quite funny.

'Have I bought any kunai or shuriken in the past? No, but I still had some money to spend and need the actual experience of throwing those projectiles.'

"Li-San, later I want to practice some katas, would you wanna train with me?" Bakura said.

Not sure if Rocky has the same limitations her original counterpart had with ninjitsu and genjutsu.

But skill in taijutsu should be paramount to anyone, especially considering endgame bosses are basically immune to anything but taijutsu or senjutsu.

"Really? Okay!" Rocky happily answered while blushing a little.

Bakura laughed inwardly. 'It appears she really has a crush on me. Better be a good friend to her then.'

She was daydreaming for a moment.

So he asked. "Would you like to come with me? Or will you go await with Mitsashi-San?"

"I will follow you until I d... -cough- ...I mean, I will go with you." She replied enthusiastically, before correcting herself and bowing respectfully. "But I'm afraid I can't go with you guys to the training grounds. I forgot today is my day of helping with cleaning the orphanage."

"No problem, let's go then. I will buy you a treat for accompanying me!" I confirmed and began walking.

Her eyes lit up a little before following him. "Right!"

After buying some weapons, both kids said their goodbyes.

And so Bakura made his way towards Tenko.

Holy Flame Academy Training Grounds.

The training grounds were right outside the Academy main building.

They were surrounded by high metal fences.

Every student in the Leaf City would come either during class or in their free time to hone their physical skills.

And any student who is below Bronze rank, can enter this basic training ground.

Students can exercise, practice their aim in the targets on the throwing range, and challenge to a duel another student freely at their own risk.

Most of the poorer students would come inside the training ground to win something in a bet with another student.

Although fighting is not prohibited, there are still rules to follow.

Therefore, their attacks should not cause permanent injury nor broken bones.

So in general, it could be considered safe.

Bakura entered the training grounds after he had his identity verified by the guards at the entrance.

He met Tenko practicing his aim, and tried himself after he finished.

'So, I have five kunai in my holster. I will have to go and collect my weapons after finishing.'

Bakura the recollected any knowledge he could find about throwing weapons, so at least he wouldn't shame himself too much.

He missed his first attempt, but at least managed to throw it correctly at his first try.

The second, he managed to hit the target, but not its center mark.

Following his own mental directions he finally hit the target in the bullseye.

After cheering his success, he decided to keep trying.

Getting very confident with his inner wisdom, he decided to concentrate in it for a few seconds while closing his eye.

He then suddenly opened the eyes, with a visibly new light in them, and then immediately threw his forth kunai.

Although he managed to hit the target center again, what surprised his was that he literally buried it in the bullseye, making it completely invisible from where he stood.

He completely forgot to throw his final attempt when the all clear was given.

So he and Tenko went to retrieve their Kunais.

Well, targets number one through three were easy enough, but as Bakura dug into the straw of the forth target's kunai, he took hold of the handle and pulled.

It didn't budged.

'It wasn't only strength that made it cut so deep into the target, my knowledge allowed me the skill necessary to do it.'

But he didn't used the secret wisdom to remove his weapon.

Eventually, he did get it out, but pulled a large chunk of wood that was stuck on the bent end of the Kunai.

'At least I can practice my repairing skill. And I have spares.' He mentally remarked, while pocketing the kunai. 'Better avoid doing that again while training though.'

"Hey, you did it pretty well! You just need to practice that pull strength of yours." Was Tenko's comedic commentary when they met again.

"Yeah, possibly. So, wanna go for a Match?" Bakura replied to him.

"Eh... sure! I have time before aiding my mother with the shop." He casually accepted.

So they headed towards the battle area and went for their positions.

After making the spar sign. Bakura raised his hand and asked.

"Ready? Set!"

After Tenko nodded.

Bakura lowered his hand.

Tenko wasted no time in rushing towards him with a fist directed at his face.

'Let's see if I can consult my knowledge on the fly. So, what are the basic combs?' Bakura mentally questioned himself.

After a brief instant, his expression changed slightly.

From a curious semblance, to a more focused state.

Bakura then acted.

He immediately backslapped the incoming punch out of his way.

When Tenko almost lost his balance, he then responded by using his hands as leverage for a surprise upper kick.

But before he could retaliate properly, Bakura simply sweep his hands with a low spinning kick, which sent him away spinning as well.

...

He blinked once or twice, upside down, looking at his adversary with a surprise expression.

Bakura the offered his hand smiling friendly while offering the unison sign.

Tenko then took the offering and ended the match.

"Okay, you clearly knew what you were doing. And you said it would be the first fight you've ever been in." Laughed Tenko while massaging his back.

"But it's true, I guess I'm just a natural talent." Bakura eye smiled back while telling a half-truth.

"I don't know... but I'll believe it for now. Anyways, I just wanted to test myself. We will spar again after a train a little more." He said.

"But I really need to go. See you later!" He said goodbye before leaving.

'All right then. What's next? Before starting to exercise, I wanna try exploring my secret knowledge a little.' Bakura pondered.

He then went to a more reclusive area in the training ground and seated with his legs crossed.

Meditating for a while before understanding something.

He then began a mental speech while recalling his mysterious memories.

'So. While chakra is the actual power force that a fighter and shinobi draw from, that is tied to their network of chakra on the bodies, jutsus are the techniques they use to tame their source of power and use it to create super natural abilities.'

'Most people don't possess the innate capacity to for a network of chakra though.'

'Unsurprisingly, creating a new technique is really tough and dangerous.'

'To create a technique from scratch, one must have an immense control over their own chakra to explore new results.'

'So mostly the same jutsus have been used with slight innovations with quite a lot that have been either prohibited or simply hidden by a clan.'

'Regardless if the existence of chakra is mostly common knowledge, the five major hidden cities had made a consistent historic effort to keep any valuable information about it out of the public eye.'

'Mostly as a matter of political power and military might.'

'It goes without saying that because of the intelligence warfare between nations, each one seems to have great control over the spread of information regarding jutsus, so the only way to get access to valuable information is to become a member of one of the hidden cities.'

'In truth, that's not strictly true due that to gain access to higher tiers of techniques you would have to reach higher ranks of authority inside the city you entered.'

'Chakra and jutsus tutors are not very plentiful as well, and even the few that exist are very picky about the students that they are willing to teach.'

'Curiously, multiple regular people have been referred as chakra geniuses.'

'They are capable of applying chakra without even realizing that they are doing it and without proper training.'

'The folklore mentions them as super warriors, fortune tellers and other people possessing rather odd abilities.'

'The training process a person needs to undergo in order to learn how to use chakra is the following:'

'First of all, it requires the conditioning of ones body to be able to manipulate the flow of their chakra, so that the can properly use jutsus at a basic level.'

'In practice, it means to make a person's chakra nodes to slightly open.'

'This can be achieved through two methods.'

'First being, organically and gradually, through meditation and other forms of refining one's body.'

'An the second, involves another person forcing these chakra nodes to open.'

'Not exactly opening the eight gates, but interestingly the same concept.'

'But I digress, someone can perform this on another through releasing a malicious chakra attack on these nodes, pressuring the body to instinctively awaken its chakra in order to defend itself.'

'Problem being it leaves a lot of room for for bad results to happen, particularly if the person either doesn't know what they are doing or simply want to harm the one in the receiving end.'

'There is a safer and more hard to do way of accomplishing this through manually jolting those nodes.'

'Chakra is invisible to most people, the only way a person can see it is if they posses a dojutsu capable of doing so.'

'Or technically, if they have an aptitude for sensorial perception of chakra as well.'

'Gaining the ability to control the flow of one's chakra is just the beginning of learning how to use jutsus.'

'The three basic principles of chakra use are:'

'Shroud - It's nothing more than the simple practice of keeping ones chakra nodes open at all times while containing the energy that will be leaking from a person's body in a neat and compact shape that surrounds the user's body in a almost visible shroud.'

'Initially it began as an active technique that one must remain focused on to perform.'

'Though with constant practice, one can make the shroud into a passive ability that they will be able to maintain subconsciously.'

'A master at performing shroud will experience decreased aging, as they are able to keep their vital energy contained around them and prevent it of leaking out of their bodies, thus causing it to decay slowly and allow them to live a longer life.'

'And the shroud serves as well as basic defense against malicious chakra attacks, and even from attacks that aren't amped by chakra.'

'Enhance - It focuses in bolstering a person's physical capabilities, namely their strength and durability. This is accomplished by increasing the amount of chakra the body outputs and can be used to amp the strength of basic physical attacks.'

'By mastering enhance, not only one can increase the length they are able to maintain it but also increase the amount of chakra they have at their disposal.'

'Using enhance comes at the cost of draining ones chakra reserves faster.'

'Null- It's basically the technique that reverts the person back to the state they where in before they weren't able to use chakra.'

'Closing of their chakra nodes, which both cuts off their use of shroud and stops any rogue chakra from leaking out of their bodies.'

'It is incredibly dangerous and Ill adviced to use null, unless absolute necessary, because it leaves a person extremely vulnerable.'

'Null is mainly used for stealth, and an excellent counter technique when dealing with regular sensors.'

'Curiously, shutting the flow of chakra is excellent to relieve fatigue.'

'Using the basic principles as foundation, the high-rank principles, that even most Jounin haven't fully mastered yet, are:'

'Conceal - It is basically a better version of null. It makes a person chakra almost impossible to perceive without stripping them of it.'

'Peculiarly, it can even be used in chakra based constructs.'

'Focus - It's when a person expels a large amount of chakra but allocates it to a específic part of their body.'

'If one condenses chakra in their eyes, they will experience the same vision prowess a dojutsu user has access to. Although to a lesser degree and at the cost of much more chakra.'

'Its major drawback is that focus leaves the rest of the body except for one area more vulnerable to attacks.'

'Unfold - It allows a person to extend the reach of their aura so that it envelops an object.'

'Unfold does more than simply power up the affected object, it allows a person to use that object as an extension of their own body.'

'Circle - It's when a person increases the amount of chakra being released and then extend its radius. Forming a contained sphere of chakra that gives its caster complete sensory knowledge of things in its reach.'

'Costing a hell of a lot of chakra to maintain it.'

'Similar to a shorter reach sage mode or the byakugan 360 field of X-ray vision.'

'Fortify - Is basically a incredibly dense chakra armor. It involves outputting ten times the amount of chakra a person normally does, before condensing all of that into the space that chakra normally takes up.'

'Temper - it condenses a 100% of the user's chakra into a single area of their body. Not leaving a single drop of chakra for the rest of the body.'

'Flow - it involves altering the amount of chakra distributed to a person's individual body parts in real-time through out the battle.'

Bakura then Suddenly opened his eyes.

It was already getting darker, and the training grounds were being closed for cleaning and repairing.

'I guess it's enough for a day. Better master the basic before try the try the top tiers techniques.'

And so he got up and walked towards his dormitory.

But still reflecting about the information he just received.
