Kakashi was silent, he was thinking about what Sasuke said, Kakashi was a member of anbu so he knows a lot of shady things that were done in the name of good for village. He himself had done many things but they were necessary, village does not have anyone like first Hokage anymore, first Hokage alone was enough to scare the combine might of other four villages but now things are different. He believes in third Hokage, he thinks that third Hokage did the best he can to protect leaf village. So Sasuke accusing him to be just a power hungry old man, Kakashi did not believe him at all.

SASUKE: "You don't believe that third Hokage can do anything wrong do you? Let me ask you, you know about Naruto situation right? You know how everybody in village hated him, he did not have a single friend, he lived his life alone and miserable from very early age, right?

KAKASHI: "Yes, villagers hated him for being the nine tail's jinchuriki."

SASUKE: "Yes, villagers think he is reincarnation of nine tailed, they think he should be killed and don't know why Hokage is not doing anything about it.

No one knows he is son of fourth Hokage, only people who knows about it are third Hokage and elder council, and some people who were close to fourth Hokage, like you. Am I wrong?

KAKASHI: "No."

SASUKE: "During nine tails attack, fourth Hokage transported kyubi far from village so when he sealed it inside Naruto, not many people were present at that location, so it is safe to assume that only people who knew Naruto was jinchuriki are also the one who knew he is son of fourth Hokage.

There was no way it was possible for villagers to know that Naruto was nine tails jinchuriki. Someone leaked this information, they only leaked him being jinchuriki part and not him being son of fourth Hokage part so villagers will hate him, tell me what do you think could be the reason for someone in elder council or someone very close friend of fourth Hokage to spread those rumors? I am guessing you are smart enough to know that no close friend of fourth Hokage did this."

KAKASHI: "............"

SASUKE: "I can only think of two possible reasons, first when Naruto loses all hope and was at the point of breakdown then that person would come and rescue Naruto gaining unconditional loyalty from him. But this plan failed because Naruto.... well you know how Naruto is, no one can break him, that idiot would never give up. Second reason would be to forcefully take Naruto and since everyone hates Naruto then no one would say anything if that person says that he is doing this for good of village."

Kakashi was shocked, what Sasuke said make sense to him and figure of Danzo was already in his head. He was sure that Danzo was behind this.

SASUKE: "From your expression it seems you already have an idea of the person behind this. One thing that I don't understand is; why third Hokage did not do anything about this. If he says that he did not know about this then he is lying, Naruto is jinchuriki of nine tails, so he must have assigned anbu to keep tabs on him. It makes no sense, he could have easily protected Naruto, he could have adopted Naruto and no one would have said anything, he is Hokage, the strongest Kage in elemental nation, elder council would not have dared to say anything. There was no reason for him to let Naruto suffer like that, only reason I can think of is that he is a lazy asshole who would rather smoke and peep on others like a pervert than take responsibility and raise Naruto."

Kakashi was speechless, he could not think of any reason for third Hokage's action. If Sasuke figured out that someone knowingly spread those rumors then third Hokage must know this too. He is Hokage for a long time so he must have that much understanding of these things, Danzo must be the one who spread those rumors and third Hokage ignore his actions. These were the thoughts going through Kakashi's mind.

Sasuke: "Do you want me to tell you more, have you ever thought about your father's death?"

Kakashi who was lost in his thought suddenly narrowed his eyes, he looked at Sasuke coldly and said;

KAKASHI: "What about my father's death?"

SASUKE: "Your father was greatest hero of second ninja war, he was more famous and powerful than three legendary sanins and also most suitable choice for the seat of fourth Hokage. Why would failing one mission completely destroyed his reputation, everyone in the village was treating him like he was traitor to the village. He was kage level ninja so the mission he failed must be at least S-rank mission, there was no way he would have failed lower rank mission, he would have completed many S-rank mission alone at his strength, so that mission must be S-rank or higher for him to decide to retreat.

Now my question is, why every person in the village knew about this, I thought the information related to such high level mission are kept as top secret. Then who was spreading information about his mission. It was as if someone wanted to destroy his reputation and any of his chances to become Hokage. Can you think of any person who wanted Hokage seat so bad that they would do anything to ensure that every obstacle in his path is removed."

Kakashi again was lost in his thoughts, he knew Danzo tried to assassinate third Hokage when he was reinstated as Hokage after fourth Hokage's death. So Danzo spreading rumors to destroy his father's reputation was possible. He was completely lost in these thoughts that he did not question why Sasuke knows so much about this.

SASUKE: "While you think about these things, also think about third Hokage's action or more like his lack of action. You will find many occasions where third Hokage just sit back and do nothing, there were many shady things happening in the village and not everything is related to safety of village, some of those things were only good for certain individuals."
