Will

It's been a little over a month since the three of them arrived on Turtle Island.

Training has gone well for each of them, but Kuro didn't just focus on training. 

After getting the stuff from Orochimaru's hideout, he sent the clones to the Land of Grass.

The task they had been simply to attract attention while disguising themselves, doing anything; from assassinating bandits, robbing the rich and giving away the money, etc.

Throughout the month, in the Land of Grass and in certain parts of the nearby countries, there is talk of a black-haired, blue-eyed stranger and because of his actions, people's opinions are very mixed.

However, that was of no importance to Kuro.

Now that a month had passed, the active technique of the Mystic Eyes could be used again, and that was why he was in the Land of Grass at this time.

It was a clearing in the forest that had a wooden house.

The clone would come here after doing something, and he was doing it fast enough so that the locals couldn't see him, but he didn't teleport.

Now, Kuro and two other clones were using stealth as they stood some distance away from the house.

On the other hand, inside the house were Shiori and two more clones. One using stealth and the other not.

Kuro has been doing this for a few days and in none of them did anything noteworthy happen.

Just when they thought nothing would happen today either, Shiori's senses picked up something and she immediately snapped out of her meditation before using her paw to point to a map of the surroundings.

The Clone who was using stealth burst into smoke right after and passed the location to everyone else.

A green creature began to emerge from the trees surrounding the small clearing.

As its black cloak left the ground, the creature stopped rising and its upper body opened up like a plant.

The trees were not too close to each other and Zetsu had a clear view of the house.

"He's inside and there's also something else..." The white half muttered with a bit of bewilderment.

Black Zetsu half had already sensed the presences in the house and was also a bit puzzled. One of them had energy that was familiar to him, but he couldn't place exactly from where.

He left those thoughts for later and was about to go downstairs to warn Obito about the place when the ground shook.

*BOOM!* A huge explosion destroyed the entire ground around Zetsu and exposed his body.

'An ambush!' Black Zetsu thought with growing apprehension and put all his effort into trying to lower himself towards the ground. He just needed to touch it to quickly leave the place, however, he realized that he could not move his body.

He looked down and despite the smoke, dust and dirt that were everywhere, he could see that his body was encased in crystal with only his head exposed.

When one of the clones destroyed the ground, the other immediately used the Crystal element while Kuro ran towards Zetsu.

He was already inside the dust when Zetsu was encased in the crystal and narrowed his eyes when he saw the blue line that was only on Black Zetsu's body and quickly changed his intention.

Now, the line crossed horizontally across Zetsu's head and just at that moment, Kuro arrived in front of him and slashed with his sword.

*Swoosh!* A black smoke started to be dragged by the sword as the cut began. At the moment the sword cut the line on White Zetsu's body, the smoke came out white and joined the black to form a cloud.

*Tss~!* The small cloud of smoke began to sizzle and disappear as it completely left Zetsu's body. However, the black smoke was disappearing slower than the white smoke.

Kuro blew the smoke away with a Wind Jutsu towards his clone carrying Shiori, at the same time placing his hand on Zetsu's head.

Black Zetsu was starting to turn gray and White showed no signs of physical changes, but the look in his eye showed no will. However, such changes stopped a second after Kuro placed his hand on his head.

When Kuro saw that it took effect, he distanced himself from a motionless Zetsu and as he waited for everything to go well.

He had just separated Zetsu's will and imparted his own a moment later.

Initially, Kuro had the "Intent" to separate Kaguya's will, however, White Zetsu had no such thing and so the line was only in Black Zetsu's body.

When he realized that, he changed his "Intent" to wanting to separate Zetsu's will. With that, it encompassed both Kaguya's will, which was also Black Zetsu's, and White Zetsu's own will.

Not knowing the true power of Black Zetsu, Kuro decided to use a quick attack using the confusion that Shiori's presence could generate. He also had in mind that Zetsu might come alone, either out of arrogance or wariness towards someone who showed to know something about him despite his long life, but he still wanted to make sure and did everything in a place that would make him feel comfortable with coming and going as he pleased.

'I'll have to thank Miko properly if this works out.' Kuro had sent Shiori to ask Miko if she knew anything related to will and after confirming it, she taught him the method to imbue it.

And although she also told him that there should be no repercussions, he was still cautious and left the clone in the house sleeping and made him explode after imbuing the will.

(Black Zetsu's POV)

As I felt my purpose in life slipping away along with my existence, a new motivational force arose in me and with it came a new intention... a new purpose.

My vision cleared and the first thing I noticed was the crystal that enclosed me. Recalling the events that transpired moments ago, an abhorrence and guilt surged in my chest at the thought that I was plotting against him.

My vision caught the figure of the Master standing at the edge of the crater and the feelings of guilt only grew stronger.

Requesting that I be taken out of the crystal didn't even cross my mind. All my concentration is on looking for ways to make up for my mistake and the quickest route to fulfill the Master's purpose. Thoughts that my other half also shared.
