Naruto: reborn as an Uzumaki

During his effort to save his cousin whom he was in love with from committing suicide, Tom died when the railing he was holding on to broke. But when he woke up, he was reborn as the son of an Uzumaki and an Uchiha. But he was not born in the hidden leaf, but rather in the hidden rain village. And because of clan issues, had to grow up away from his father and elder sister who presumably died in the Uchiha massacre. But fate had other plans. Sometime after he turned 15 and was about to turn 16, his life completely changed in the span of two short days. The story from chapter 4 onwards takes place between the timeskip between the OG series and Shippuden, to be specific, six months before the beginning of Shippuden. Also while I did add the harem tag MC won't go around catching waifus like pokemon. There will be a very small harem in the future and I will take my sweet time developing it. So don't expect much until the pain arc. The story will be extremely long because I want to flesh out everyone to some extent and give each harem member a legitimate reason and give their relationship a lot of development. I don't own any of the characters except for the OC's I created. The cover image is ai generated. ---------------------------- Warning!!!!! There will be incest so keep that in mind while reading this. Also this book is a work in progress so there will be changes in the future, and I'm open to suggestions. And join my discord to meet other readers and discuss ideas about the story. I'd appreciate it. https://discord.gg/p2jzn8V3HP

Chapter 5:- Kana's death and revival(Rewrite)

As soon as I raised my hands and stepped back, Tsunade and her team, including a Hyuga woman who I later learned was a medical ninja, rushed in to assess Mom's condition.

I explained what I could, but it didn't seem to ease the urgency in their expressions. After asking me to wait outside, I had no choice but to comply. Kakashi remained nearby, keeping a close eye on me as I paced anxiously.

[Third Person POV]

Inside the room, Tsunade tried everything in her arsenal—methods and treatments that should have at least stabilized a chakra-related illness. But no matter what they did, nothing worked. The Hyuga medic used her Byakugan to scan Kana's chakra network, but it showed no signs of recovery. In fact, Kana's chakra was diminishing rapidly, her body barely hanging on.

As hours passed, the team watched helplessly as Kana's already weak chakra circulation slowed even further, almost ceasing altogether. The Hyuga's Byakugan confirmed the grim reality: her body wouldn't last through the night.

"Please… it's no use," Kana whispered, her voice faint, barely audible. "My time is up. Let me see my son… one last time… I can't hold out anymore."

Tsunade hesitated. The idea of giving up went against everything she stood for as a medic, but even she could see that there was no fighting the inevitable. After a reluctant pause, she called for Kenshin to come inside.

[Kenshin's POV]

"Mom? I'm here," I said softly as I knelt by her side, fighting the urge to break down in front of her.

Her eyes met mine, filled with tears that mirrored my own. But there was something more in them—regret, sorrow, and gratitude all mixed together. "Ken-chan… I'm so sorry," she rasped. "Sorry for making you carry this burden… for seven years… I've been nothing but a weight. A failure as a mother."

"No, Mom, please," I whispered, squeezing her frail hands. "You've never been a burden. Don't say that…"

"If… if you can," she continued, her gaze drifting between Tsunade and me, "bury me with your father… and sister. Please."

I nodded, barely able to speak.

Her eyes found mine once more, and she gave me a weak smile. "I want you to remember something, Ken-chan. No matter what happens… hold on to hope. Find strength… within yourself. Don't give up. Protect others, just like you've protected me."

I could barely hold back the sob building in my throat, but I stayed quiet, letting her speak.

"Thank you… for staying with me. For believing in me. I love you, Ken-chan."

With the last bit of strength she had, she cupped my face and pressed a soft kiss on my forehead. I felt her hand go limp, and in that moment, I knew. She was gone.

I held her hand tighter, as if I could somehow will her back, but her head tilted gently to the side, her breathing stopping altogether.

The room was quiet except for the faint sound of my own trembling breath.

'What? Why did you die too? You're all I have left. Wake up. Please, don't leave me. Open your damn eyes, Kana Uzumaki!!!'

Kakashi stepped forward and placed a hand on my shoulder. I knew he understood the pain. But nothing could have prepared me for what happened next.

Suddenly, my sharingan activated on its own, the tomoe spinning rapidly, evolving before my very eyes into something new—Mangekyo Sharingan.

I barely registered the transformation. All I could see was a faint white glow coming from my mother's heart. The light was so subtle at first, but it called to me, instinctively.

I poured chakra into my right eye, focusing on that light, and the moment I did, it grew brighter. Pain shot through my body, sharp and overwhelming, as if my eye, brain, and body were being torn apart from the inside.

The last thing I remember was Kakashi catching me as I collapsed.

"Mom…" I whispered before everything went dark.

[Third Person POV]

Kakashi gently laid Kenshin on a nearby bed, then turned back to Kana—and his eyes widened in disbelief. She was breathing. Shallow and labored, but undeniably alive.

Shizune rushed to her side. "But… how? She died, right in front of us!"

The Hyuga woman quickly reactivated her Byakugan, scanning Kana's chakra network. "Hokage-sama! Her chakra is flowing again. It's… it's like her disease is completely gone!"

Tsunade frowned, walking over to Kana and examining her pulse. "This shouldn't be possible. She was gone."

Kakashi glanced at Kenshin. "His Mangekyo Sharingan... I think it's what saved her. Whatever ability he awakened, it reversed the disease and restarted her heart."

Tsunade's expression hardened, her mind racing. "We'll need to question him when he wakes up. This kind of power... it can't be allowed to fall into the wrong hands. No one says a word about this outside of this room."

The team nodded in agreement, and Tsunade ordered five ANBU to watch over Kenshin. Shizune stayed behind to monitor Kana, while the rest of them left the room, shaken but determined to uncover the truth of what they had just witnessed.
