Chapter 18: The Lightning Cloak and Musou no Hitotachi

The sun rose slowly over Kumogakure, its early light reflecting off the morning dew that coated the training grounds. Ei stood silently, her katana in hand, eyes closed in deep concentration. Today, she would attempt something new—a technique she had witnessed in her dreams, performed by the formidable warrior she had seen.

It was a daunting fusion of her Lightning Chakra Cloak and swordsmanship. The strike she intended to unleash was far beyond what she'd ever tried, but the dream had shown her the potential to do more than just enhance her blade with lightning. This was the Musou no Hitotachi—a single, decisive blow that could annihilate anything in its path.

The Third Raikage, standing tall on the side, observed her quietly. His arms were crossed, his eyes sharp as he watched his daughter prepare. Ei had been training under him for years, but today, there was something different in the air. He could sense it. This was not an ordinary practice session.

Her teammates—Yugito, Samui, and Mabui—stood by as well, their expressions filled with anticipation. They had seen Ei's steady improvement, her relentless drive to grow stronger, but they could tell today was different. Ei was pushing the limits of what even she could handle.

Ei opened her eyes, the crackling of electricity growing louder as she activated her Lightning Chakra Cloak. Her body shimmered with energy, her chakra flowing into the blade as she raised it. The air around her buzzed with intensity, but this time, she was not simply coating the sword. No, this time, she was preparing for something far more powerful.

She took a deep breath, planting her feet firmly on the ground. Sweat formed on her brow as she focused all of her chakra into the blade, just as the warrior in her dream had done. The lightning around her katana grew denser, sharper, and more dangerous. The hum of power reached a fever pitch.

Her teammates watched in stunned silence as Ei gathered the last of her chakra, the lightning forming a bright arc along the blade's edge.

Then, in one swift motion, she swung.

A massive surge of lightning exploded from her sword, a blinding flash of energy that ripped through the air with a deafening crack. The force of the strike cut through the ground, leaving a deep scar in its wake, and sent shockwaves rippling through the earth. The sheer power was overwhelming, shaking the entire training field.

As the dust settled, Ei dropped to one knee, gasping for breath. She had poured nearly all of her chakra into the strike, and it had taken everything out of her. The Lightning Chakra Cloak flickered, then dissipated entirely. She could feel the strain on her body, her chakra reserves completely spent.

"Ei!" Yugito rushed over, her mismatched blue and yellow slitted eyes wide with concern. "Are you okay?"

Samui and Mabui followed closely behind, their expressions a mix of shock and disbelief. They had never seen a technique like that before. Samui crouched next to Ei, her normally calm demeanor slightly shaken. "That... was incredible. But what was it? I've never seen anything like that."

Mabui, always the analytical one, was already trying to break down what had happened. "The way the lightning surged into the blade and exploded outward... It was almost like the lightning took on the form of the sword's aura. But the amount of chakra you used was overwhelming. There's no way a normal shinobi could pull that off without collapsing afterward."

The Third Raikage stepped forward, his expression unreadable. He had watched the entire display, his sharp eyes missing nothing. "The power was immense, but reckless. You exhausted nearly all of your chakra in that one strike. It's not something you can rely on in battle unless you refine it."

Ei panted, still struggling to catch her breath. She had expected this. The Musou no Hitotachi was far from perfect in its current form. It drained her completely, leaving her vulnerable. But she had succeeded in replicating the technique, and that was a step forward.

"It's called... Musou no Hitotachi," Ei finally said, her voice soft but firm. "It's a technique I've been trying to replicate from a vision—a single, decisive strike that can cut through anything. But... I'm not strong enough to sustain it yet."

Yugito's eyes widened. "Musou no Hitotachi… it sounds as powerful as it looks."

Samui nodded, her gaze lingering on the deep cut left in the ground from the strike. "The precision and control you need for that kind of attack… it's amazing, Ei. But it takes a huge toll on you."

Mabui crossed her arms, her mind clearly racing as she processed the information. "If you can perfect it and reduce the chakra cost, it could be the ultimate technique. But right now, it leaves you too vulnerable afterward. You'll need to train your chakra control even more."

The Third Raikage nodded in agreement. "The potential is there, but like any great technique, it needs refinement. You can't afford to be defenseless after using it. Continue to work on your chakra reserves and control. Master your Lightning Chakra Cloak first. Once you can sustain that without losing energy, you'll have a better chance of using this technique effectively."

Ei looked up at her father, determination filling her despite her exhaustion. "I will, Father. I'll master it. I just need more training."

The Raikage's lips curled into the faintest hint of a smile. "Good. I expect nothing less."

As her teammates helped her to her feet, Ei could feel their admiration and support. Despite the fact that she had pushed herself too far, they were all impressed by what she had achieved.

"That was a glimpse of something incredible, Ei," Samui said quietly, her voice filled with respect. "But you don't have to do it all alone. We're here to help."

Yugito nodded, her mismatched eyes sharp and focused. "You're going to perfect that technique, Ei. And when you do, nothing will be able to stand against you."

Mabui smiled softly, her analytical mind already thinking of ways Ei could improve. "We're a team, and with your strength, we'll be unstoppable. Just pace yourself."

Ei smiled back at them, grateful for their support. Her body still ached from the strain, and her chakra reserves were completely depleted, but her resolve was stronger than ever. She had taken a crucial step toward mastering Musou no Hitotachi, and with her teammates by her side, she knew she could perfect it.

As they walked away from the training grounds, Ei glanced at the Third Raikage, who was watching her with his usual intensity. She knew that he expected nothing but the best from her, and she was determined not to disappoint him.

Musou no Hitotachi was within her grasp. She just needed more time and training to truly master it. And when she did, she would become an unstoppable force, just like the warrior in her dreams.
