Naruto Online: The Strongest Shinobi

Michael, living in a dystopian world devastated by nuclear warfare, discovers a new VRMMORPG game called 'Elemental Nations.' Excited by the opportunity to escape his harsh reality, he purchases the Tier 1 headset and prepares to embark on an adventure. In his cramped living space, surrounded by the remnants of his previous life, Michael contemplates the hardships he and his family endure. The scarcity of resources and the confined conditions serve as constant reminders of the post-apocalyptic world they inhabit. As Michael watches the game's trailer, he recognizes familiar elements from the anime series Naruto. His passion for the show in his previous world fuels his excitement to explore this virtual rendition of the Naruto universe. However, in this new world, anime is not as popular, with people favoring slice-of-life stories over war-torn narratives. Equipped with the VR gear, Michael eagerly enters the game, expecting to unleash his knowledge of the Naruto world to become a powerful shinobi. The game's mechanics limit the number of players who can join as shinobi from the five great villages, adding a sense of exclusivity and competition to the experience. With the promise of potentially earning money through the game, Michael sees an opportunity to contribute to his family's welfare. Unemployment and limited opportunities in the real world have left him longing for a chance to make a difference. As the game servers go online, Michael finds himself transported to a new location, ready to embark on an extraordinary journey within the virtual world of Elemental Nations. Little does he know that this adventure will hold secrets, challenges, and the potential for him to become the hero he aspires to be.

Chapter 17: 1 on 1

"Hokage-sama." Shikaku said but before he could finish the Hokage continued.

"I know you're worried about the Chunin exams Shikaku but I am sure we can get him 2 more genin teammates by then. For now I want to test Shikomu here. I have a mission for you guys." The Hokage said as he took up a scroll.

Naido-sensei also seemed a bit surprised that we were already getting a mission.

"This will be a B-Rank mission." The Hokage said and paused for a second to let that sink in. I looked at him in shock. A B-rank already…

"The contents of the mission itself is around the range of a C-rank mission. However it will be considered as B-rank since you will have to travel out of the Land of Fire. There have been movements from Iwagakure civilians near there. I want you to find out what is going on there and report back here." The Hokage mentioned.

As he said that, I got a new notification.

[Crucial Mission

"When should we leave Hokage-Sama." Naido-sensei asked.

"Right away if possible," the Hokage said.

We all nodded and moved out.

Shikaku helped me pack, and his high amounts of experience in this matter had also helped me. He then led me to the entrance of the village.

"This will look really good on your record, as long as you're careful." He told me.

"I understand," I nodded at him, and left with Naido-sensei.

[Since you are no longer in Konoha, the Konoha Shinobi buff will not work]

As I read that notification, I kept up with Naido-sensei, who was moving at high-genin speed to make sure I could keep up.

I still had my weight set and Guys spandex equipment on so that I was training while moving. Naido-sensei did not mind this as long as I had kept up with him.

As I was moving, I also thought more about what had just happened. If Danzo was there, it might mean that Kazuto was captured by the root. They might even potentially know that he has the Uchiha bloodline if he is used that way.

I then pulled up the Elite-Chat.

.....

Elite-Chat

[???:Hello]

[???: Hello. I will make this short since I am a busy person. Tell me how you joined a clan and I will tell you how to establish a village]

(AUTHORS NOTE: ??? Are the players. It will be a bit confusing but figure out who is who :)))

[???: No. I already know how to establish a village]

I lied through my teeth. The other person didn't know what I knew.

To my surprise, I instantly got a reply.

[???: Bullshit. Then why didn't you set up a village already?]

[???: Why would I? A clan is better than any up and coming village]

[???:I see…which village are you from?]

[???: Your asking a lot of questions for someone who doesn't want to provide any information]

[???: Fine, what do you want to know]

[???: How have you used your EXP, did you place it onto your stats or something else.]

[???: I placed it onto my Chakra, Physical stats and 1 more component. How about you, how have you used yours?]

[???: I did the same, but I saved some.]

After that, I closed the chat. While to chat with someone I didn't need to do any actions and just had to think, I saw Naido-sensei calling on me.

But I did get more information. This person might have unlocked something like my Fuinjutsu or an S-rank jutsu to dump all their EXP into.

"We will stop here for a while, Shikomu. It will take us 7 days on foot with this pace to reach the place. Since this mission is not of the utmost importance, and we have a time limit of 3 months, I wish to go slower and take 2 weeks to go there." Naido-sensei said.

"Sensei, if it's 3 months, aren't we cutting it close to the Chunin Selection Exams?" I asked.

"We are by a bit. The exams are 4 months from now and we might have to extend our missions depending on the severity of the missions. But these are sacrifices that ninjas face for the village, Shikumo." Naido-sensei said. "That and the exams aren't isn't the only way to become a Chunin. You can apply for field promotion after a certain amount of missions."

I nodded at what he said, but I was still internally a little dissatisfied. The exams were a major part of the anime. Characters such as Orochimaru and Jiraiya would be introduced.

But that didn't bum me down too much. Sure rank was important but it's not like I had a lot to do during the exams. Skipping them might not be the worst case.

"For now, take this." He told me and passed me a chakra paper.

"All shinobi know that chakra comes in the form of five basic elements - Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning. Most people have chakra that has an affinity to one of the Five Elements Nature Transformations. To find out what affinity someone has, pieces of paper that are made from a special type of tree are used to react to the slightest hint of chakra in any number of ways, depending on the nature latent in the chakra. The chakra paper reactions are as follows:

Fire: The paper will catch on fire and turn into ash.

Wind: The paper will split in half.

Lightning: The paper will wrinkle.

Earth: The paper will turn to dirt and crumble away.

Water: The paper will become damp.

Now, use it."

As I held the paper and inspected it a little I was a little curious. What would come out? I inserted my chakra into the paper.

:))))))
