Finding Gaara pt1

When Sasuke and Naruto returned Kakashi and Sakura were almost ready to leave, "while you two were gone I got some information, it seems that two village heads have gone missing and the scouting team has not sent any reports. We can only assume they are both dead, if that isn't the case we should bring them back to the village."

"Yes, Kakashi!" Kakashi nodded, "Before we go we should send out some summons to scout, you too Sasuke." Kakashi and Sasuke summoned their Animals, Sasuke summoned his hawk and Kakashi summoned his dogs. "Oh, cool summon Sasuke, a lot cooler than my toads." Sasuke only grunted, "Garuda, keep a lookout for any members of the Akatsuki." the Hawk nodded its head then flew out to search.

"Eight ninja dogs, at your service!" The main dog, the pug, looked around the room, "Oh hey Naruto, long time no see." "Pakkun, you look the same." "You look quite different Naruto." Kakashi then stepped in, "Yes, yes, but enough of this chatter. I need you to get to work right away!" Kakashi then pulled out a piece of cloth, "This is from one of the missing villagers, find out where it's headed."

The eight dogs then leaped out to find the location. Kakashi then turned around, "When we get an alert about their location we will leave, for now, let's make sure we have everything and help keep watch on Kankuro." Naruto nodded, "It will probably take a day or so to get anything, I'm going to sleep, I'm going to need some rest to fight the Akatsuki."

A little later in the night, Kankuro sat up, "It- it was Sasori of the sand." Kakashi knew who this was, he was a very dangerous puppet user, he would be a very difficult opponent to fight. "I guess the Akatsuki is just as formidable as we thought. This is bad, if they are all this skilled they could even go to war with a shinobi village!" Sasuke and Kakashi got as much information as they could during the night.

The next day Pakkun and the other dogs came back with information, Pakkun pointed on a map, "This is where their hideout is?" "Most likely, Gaara's scent was also coming from that place." "I see, I have one more favor to ask of you, go and find Guys team and show them this location." Kakashi had received a letter about Guy, before Pakkun could answer the rest of team seven came through the door, Kakashi smiled, "Well it looks like you guys are up, let's head out."

"I thought the sand would be joining us?" said Sasuke, "They were, but an order from above moved them, they will now patrol the village while we go out and find Gaara." the rest of team seven nodded. "I will go!" shouted someone outside, it was the old granny! Naruto sighed, he knew how old people could be, " No office Granny, but you are too weak to get involved, plus a group of five would be too easy to see, that's why teams always have 4 members."

"I haven't weakened in my old age." "You can't beat old age, unless your Tsunade, you will have weakened, I know you used to be very strong in the third war, but now you are just old." Naruto knew this was true, he had seen her use killing intent against Kakashi and she was very weak, it would have not taken much to beat her. Kakashi pushed Naruto aside, "It would be an honor to have the great granny Chiyo follow us." "That's more like it!" Kakashi got a little mad at Naruto but knew he couldn't yell at him like he used to, they were now both the same rank.

Team seven and granny both set out, team seven had to slow down a little because Chiyo was slower than them, this is what Naruto didn't want to happen. "Because the Akatsuki have captured Gaara they must want the beast inside, but how can they use the power? It must be extremely difficult to extract something like the tailed beast." Kakashi nodded, "We don't know at the moment, maybe we can eventually find out." Sasuke then spoke, "If they are in the land of rivers now, it might be their hideout, no wonder we were attacked during our mission." Sakura and the rest nodded in response, it was a good thing more of them didn't come, or they would all be dead now.

With the Akatsuki, they were extracting the beast from Gaara, "There are enemies nearing this hideout. They are all highly skilled at that, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sasuke Uchiha." "Oh Itachi, your brother is coming, I hope it will be a touching reunion!" said Kisame laughing. Itachi ignored him, "We will use that jutsu." Itachi and Kisame nodded. "Itachi, what is the jinchuriki like?" Itachi thought for a little, "He is strong but overestimates his abilities, at least that's what he was like last time." Deidara nodded.

At team seven was running through the trees Naruto sensed something, "Two enemies approaching, most likely the Akatsuki!" they all stopped and two people appeared in front of them, Sasuke's eyes went wide, "Itachi!" Itachi looked as calm as ever, "Sasuke." Naruto looked over at the one beside Itachi and noticed how much chakra he had. Chakra was not always accurate to strength but they still went hand in hand.

"I'll take the fish." "Hehehe, I take it you're the jinchuriki, you have quite the chakra, and Zetsu said you were skilled, this will be fun." Naruto knew that the Akatsuki member he was fighting now would be strong so he went into two tails mode, he then made a clone to go gather nature energy just in case. Sasuke activated his Sharingan and took out his chakra saber, "Itachi, you will pay!" "Brother, you are still not strong enough, you do not possess these eyes of mine."

This chapter was shorter than normal but it's fine. Today I have two VS battles because I am interested in the answers.
