Chapter 183: Kang Nam-Kyu

Finally, after about a year of being in this miserable home I finally found a way to get back into Seon-Ho's life. Hyun-Ki had been acting like a deranged psychopath ever since his new transformation; ignoring his parents, mistreating his wife and muttering Yeon's name from dusk until dawn no matter which maid he had on his empty lap. I saw the look on his face every time he left the home; the fear that Seon-Ho had instilled in him for trying to after his woman only made me desire him even more to be honest. I also saw the look on Hyun-Ki's face every time he got home; he was always trembling in anger, humiliation and desperation. He was left like a small child that received beatings everyday. He didn't care that his career he had been working towards his whole life was destroyed, his family were too ashamed to leave the home and were constantly humiliated when they were, he ruined decades worth of his family legacy to chase after a woman that had always belonged to someone else, he just cared about that damned lowborn. He chanted her name day and night as if she was a prayer to him, a goddess to be worshiped when no one appreciated the real power behind her which was always Seon-Ho.

Hyun-Ki's behaviour only got worse and worse the more he was sent to the palace everyday, even on the days he was supposed to be off. I got close to him to find out more information and from what I heard, Seon-Ho was not finished in his torture yet. Hyun-Ki barely worked he was just expected to stand in his master's office where his wife worked and served him in more ways than one. I couldn't really work out what he was doing with the maids in his new state, until we get close enough for him to confide in me that this was what...they did right in front of his eyes every single day. The fact that they had been married for 10 years and still had a rather active sex life not only surprised me, but it made me...jealous. I had had a lot of men myself but Seon-Ho was just so...big...and built...and tall...and just so handsome that he made my knees weak. Yeon was a very lucky woman to have a man like him all to herself who not only threw himself and her but was pretty much the only man I knew who was...faithful. He didn't use any of the concubines he had, he wasn't looking for any more and as far as I knew he hadn't laid his hands or eyes on anyone apart from the girl he grew up with. He was...different, so much so that I also soon enough had an uncontrollable desire to get a hold of him, just like Hyun-Ki wanted nothing but Yeon. His main wife on the other hand, was really starting to piss me off, so much so that her fumbling behaviour actually gave me an idea on how to get myself back into Seon-Ho's arms.

All of her so-called scheming and torturing Yeon got her nowhere, and after all the bullying she had been through she had no idea how to be the main wife she had always dreamed of being. Fate or karma robbed her of the chance of being a mother, so she didn't know how to raise the ones that were meant to be her responsibility, her status was a constant shame to hear parents-in law as she had dragged their son down with him as they basically lived as commoners known had to let go of a lot of their staff since they were burning through their money like anything, and I didn't want to stick around until they had nothing left. So I started on her first; I got in her way as much as she could until she had no choice but to complain to our benefactor...well I made her take her anger out on Yeon first again before Seon-Ho had no choice to intervene, and in her state he would definitely have to. And when she complained to him then Hyun-Ki woke up from his depressed mental state and psychically tortured her and blamed her for the mess they were in. And when Hyun-Ki was wound up he had me by his side plotting our revenge, ways to take down Seon-Ho and strip him of his position juts like he did to us.

I managed to get into the palace as a maid again under Hyun-Ki and I did my fair share of reading the books my sister collected her whole childhood so I could better understand his work and what it required...and what I should look out for. And with Yeon going into labour any day of the week now his temper was getting shorter and he was at home a lot more. And as his personal eunuch he had access to his study so I could easily get a few materials on my hands...and manage to stay in contact with a few people who were loyal to my family...and some who owed us favours...and soon enough I was on my way to see the King whist I had my family's favour returned when they sent their men to the army general's home at the same time.
