IN THE SHADOWS

  After the war that almost sent all supernatural species into extinction,all supernatural species went into hiding wandering in the shadows fearing to come out openly for the fear of the human hunters.. Those human hunters have been provided with weapons that can be really fatal to any supernatural species and they are known to kill without mercy.

  For over one thousand five hundred years now, the humans have been ruling the world...If only they knew about the prophecy that was proclaimed before the war..

   In the time when breeze blows stone, when the rain rains blood and the voices of the dead screams vengeance out of the valley of the dead.. The humans shall rise against all species and destroy them, but their reign is only for two thousand years and their shall be unity among all supernatural species and the humans shall be conquered..The supernatural species can only break out of this bondage if they find the chosen one.. The one that is to bring freedom to all supernatural races, The chosen one. He is the bearer of the crest mark. He shall conquer humanity.

      This prophecy was proclaimed by the old one, he claimed to have been present when the Earth was formed by the gods.. And his prophecy is known to always come to pass..

    If only the humans know the great tribulations that is to befall them..

  I have been wandering in the shadows over two thousand years now, trying to escape been killed by the human hunters,I was lucky to have made it out of the war alive with my son, unfortunately my wife couldn't make it as she sacrificed her life for me and my son. The day the war broke out, I and my son went hunting. We were almost getting to our house when we saw a gruesome sight, my wife was being tortured severely for not revealing our whereabout and was later beheaded. I would have gone to help her but I was binded by her oath.

Mum,what are you doing here? Why are you crying blood mother!? .

Ella,am crying because of the calamity that shall soon befall the earth, there is no way this war that I forsee can be averted..You shall sacrifice your life for the sake of your son,He is the chosen one..He shall bring unity among all the supernatural races and destroy the humans.

You have to die for him to be able to attain his destiny,you were never destined to walk the path with him.. Remember he must be kept safe for the humans shall seek to kill him so that the prophecy shouldn't come to pass..Never forget he must be kept safe for he shall be the one rebuild the land of his ancestors..And after your death my daughter,we shall both be United and help in protecting your son from this side..Fear not for he shall overcome.

I am really worried,as the head of my clan..My body is not at ease,my body is on edge. I can feel something big is coming, something that will bring a change to all supernatural races.. I keep getting disturbed each day that passes.

  I remember my father telling me about a prophecy that was proclaimed along time ago about something big coming to the supernatural races and the signs shall be the" breeze blowing stones,the rain raining blood".

  He said,after this signs there shall be the down fall of all supernatural races. And all this signs are now manisfesting. I need to consult my wife whether she can feel what am feeling, after all she is a hibrid( a witch and a vampire!) .

   She sees flashes of what will happen in the future, she is also very powerful..

Mother isn't there a way for me not lose my life?

No my daughter,you have to die for the prophecy to be fulfilled.

In the time,when the sun shall darken and the moon shall turn red.."the one who is two in one shall be destroyed to pave way for the the chosen one,for if her blood is not shed..The chosen one would not be able to attain his destiny".This is the second prophecy.

I hear you mother,I shall make this sacrifice for the supernatural races to be liberated once again.

    Go and meet your husband,he is confused and needs some  answers and do not tell him of your sacrifice as he may try to stop you.

  Alright mother,I shall keep it secret.

 No my husband,I had dreams about the future. A war is coming and is going to be the down fall of all the supernatural races,Many people shall lose their lives in this war, the earth shall be bath with blood..

  Promise me my husband that you shall do everything in your ability to see that our son is safe.. If anything should ever happen to me my husband, take our child and run.. seek a safe haven, protect him, train him for what is to come.. for what is coming his bigger that all of us..

We vampires are known to be the owner of the night,our senses become more heightened in the night.. we can't risk coming out In the day as the result can be really fatal unless you have a daylight ring.

What's that sound? I can hear the rustling of the leaves and the change in the air.. Father we are being ambushed by the human hunters, I can hear their heartbeat. I can also smell the appetizing aroma of their blood begging to be spilled. They have been on our trail for a while now,the powerful compass they used in trailing us makes it easy for them to detect our whereabouts..

My fangs are itching are itching for a fresh human blood.

   I can sense as the human Hunters keep advancing towards us,using my abilities.. I know there are ten of them coming. This is gonna be fun.!

   As they near us, I can't think of anything else than to sink my fangs in their veins and feed to my heart content, the humans are the most dangerous specie to have ever existed.. they kill without mercy, they are greedy and dangerous.. and yes..! They killed my mom. My fangs are already elongated as my primal instincts sensed danger.

     Watching my dad,I sense he is disturbed.. he seems worried about something,could it be he is worried about me? I don't think so,am more than capable to protect myself..He doesn't like the sound of war at all,he hasn't gotten over the death of mother..Well,father can't stop me from having fun tonight..My fangs are itching for a fresh human blood.!

  We have been trailing them for close to three days now,the more we think we are near them,the farther they go..I am certain we are almost where they are,the compass will surely take us to where they are..I have been hunting vampires ever since I knew about the existence of the living dead,I have hunted and killed so many..I can feel nervousness rolling out of some of my men,we are a crew of ten going to kill two vampires..surely we are more than enough,order had been given from above to kill the two vampires to avoid some kind of prophecy to come to pass.i rechecked my gun to know if it's well loaded,silver bullets can be very fatal to any vampire..it's weakens them so much and slows their healing process..Tonight is the night they face judgement,tonight is the night they know the consequences of going against the most powerful specie.

The hunters are fast approaching us,me and my son are already in a defensed mode..we awaits them,tonight shall be the last adventurous night of their life..they shall feel the full wrath of an angry three thousand years old vampire..I looked sideways and saw my son looking at me,he looks happy about the fun that will soon begin..His hatred for the humans runs very deep..

    Noticing the hunters have spread out,I smiled it's going to be really fun attacking them like that. With my vampire sight,I see the leader of the crew crouching on the ground trying to avoid being seen. He is the only one I smell confidence on among all his crew. Am preying on him first.!

I can hear their heart beats,I can smell their fear and anxiety..it's makes my desire go very high.

Using my vampire speed,I vamp sped to where the first one his,i gave him a powerful blow in his torso and sank my fangs in his neck. His blood tasted very warm and delicious,I kept drinking until there was no life left in him again. I hear the sound of gun being shot at me sporadically,I kept dodging the silver bullets until he ran out of bullets.. and then I bounced on him in his vulnerable state and gave him a quick kill.

I looked over to where my dad is,obviously he is having a nice time..his usual smirk is present on his lips,he usually smirks when he is having fun.

I gave him a knowing smile and continued with my hunts.

   One foolishly tried to attack me from behind and I greeted him with a quick snap to neck and threw his lifeless body down..

  Eight men down,two to go.. My body feels so great,it's being a while i played the game of the Hunter and the hunted..I am really enjoying this. I snapped out of my thoughts and ran towards the Hunter that is trying to run away and caught up with him and told him,it's foolish to ever think of out running a vampire before finally twisting his neck.

  The last man seeing all his colleagues are dead, went down on his knees begging for mercy. But my father taught me "mercy is for the weak." They weren't merciful to me too when they killed my mum,they weren't merciful to me when they ended the lives of everyone in my clan.I know if it's were the other way round too, they wouldn't be merciful to me too..

   In a very swift movement, I deep my claws in his chest making sure to break every bone I come across,and eventually I grabbed his heart.. squeezing it before slowly bringing it out..He fell down and died immediately.
