Rissa

Airabella found Onicent quickly. She told him that what had happened and implored him to come with her to address their son.

Onicent was reluctant to follow, but came nonetheless. When they returned Amos was standing up, he was holding his sword in his hand, staring at his reflection. He turned it left and right.

"Amos," Onicent barked.

Amos looked up and smiled.

"Be seated." Airabella said, she and Onicent sat themselves down on their thrones in front of him. Airabella fold her hands in her lap, and stared down on her son. Onicent looked more at ease, he was lazed on his throne looking slightly bored.

"Airabella has come to me with an alarming story." Onicent said, studying Amos.

"It was about that boy Neonee wasn't it?" Amos said, his fists clenched with anger.

"Did you attack Neonee?" Onicent inquired.

"No," Amos said.

Airabella swelled with emotion. "Explain then," Airabella said, "the blood on the floor."

"We fought," Amos said, "it got a bit rough." He shrugged, he sounded annoyed. "May I go now, Ilo and my son need me."

"You may go," Onicent said. Amos got up, slung his sword onto his back, and walked out the room.

Airabella hissed under her breath. "He hasn't told the truth. There was a witness."

"I'm sure it is truth enough, where is the boy?"

"Gone home to his mother Serse," Airabella said.

"What's done is done," Onicent said. He started to shift to get up.

Airabella stood up facing him, "don't you understand!" She yelled at Onicent.

Onicent paused.

"There will be a trial! Amos did attacked Neonee. When your brother finds out he will be angry." Airabella said, "the last of the punished committed a lesser crime and were punished terribly by you." When Onicent didn't reply, "This is your fault!" Airabella screamed at him. "You turned my son into this! The council will have him punished!"

"The council works by vote." Onicent said. "I vote that he is innocent. Who was the witness?"

"Feia, and her brother Epis."

Onicent nodded slowly, a plan formulating. "I will have your vote on my side?" He asked Airabella.

Airabella clenched her fists. "This is against justice, our son is guilty!"

"It is my will that he is to be declared innocent!" Onicent roared, "you are upset because of a duel. Clearly a duel for the goddess Ilodeena's hand. Our son has won."

"Our son is in violation of marriage. Neonee is the rightful husband of Ilodeena." Airabella said, "this is your fault!"

Onicent darkened at Airabella. "I will have your vote." He said, "you are to vote our son innocent. Against the witness, you are to agree Feia is half blind, you are to protect her from giving her witness on that account." The room was cold now, Airabella could feel Onicent's power filling it, and frightened she agreed.

When Onicent left Airabella wept. Later that same day her child was finally born. The child was a daughter, however Airabella was horrified to discover the girls skin was sooty even though her eyes were a ruby red. She cried that she had poisoned the child. Try as she might she could not wash away the stain on the girls skin. She named the child Rissa, immediately Rissa had transformed to be a toddler.

Frightened Airabella held onto the child, for she knew what was coming to the gates of her home.
