Airabella froze when she saw her daughter with a strange girl. This girl was tiny in height and was wearing a cute little dress, her skin was light grey. Airabella didn't know where such a child could come from, but she was certain of something.
"Enisia, who is this?"
Enisia turned to look at her mother, her face went a bit slack as she took in Airabella's expression.
The girl spoke up, her voice was childish but very clear, "I am Iyora."
Airabella drew back slightly, the girl spoke with a childs voice but an adults precision. "Why are you here Iyora." Airabella said sharply.
Enisia stepped between them, "mother she is under my protection." She stood firm against Airabella's glare.
That was when Onicent walked in. He was surprised to see his wife and daughter with a strange child.
When Iyora saw Onicent something within her head clicked, she spoke to him, "I am Iyora, your daughter and goddess of architecture." She bowed her head slightly.
Airabella now turned her glare on Onicent, who drew back in surprise and shock. Enisia had stepped back so she was beside Iyora, but she was shocked too.
"She is not my daughter," Airabella fumed, "and yet she claims to be yours."
Onicent looked between his wife and the child speechlessly. Then slowly he said, "I suspect she is a gift from my mother, my brother Maiguh once raised three daughters for himself from lava." He addressed Iyora, "you are welcome in this court as my daughter, this is my wife and your mother Airabella. She too will welcome you." Onicent dared not meet his wife eyes as he said this.
"Thank you father," Iyora said formally, and then she bowed her head slightly to Airabella.
Seeing there was nothing for her to do, Airabella stomped away.
"Enisia, how did you find the child?" Onicent said.
Sensing it was best to tell the truth, Enisia showed him the chest. Perplexed Onicent shook his head. But when he gazed upon the girl he saw features of himself in her, and someone else. He knew he should pay her a visit soon.
"I thank you father for sheltering me and welcoming me into your home." Iyora said politely. "I will be of help to you and your wife."
Onicent was tender with her, he sent Enisia away with her to show her where she could sleep. Then Onicent set off to find Vya, but he looked everywhere and found not a trace, none of the nyphms he asked had seen her, she had vanished. With a heavier heart he returned home.
