Her gaze landed on a pair of slightly familiar blue eyes. They stirred a vague memory, but she couldn't recall where she'd seen them before. Half of his face was obscured by a sleek black mask, leaving only his piercing eyes visible. The way he stared at her,intense, calculating, almost possessive,sent an uneasy ripple through her, though she quickly suppressed it.
Without a word, she walked across the room and sat on the couch beside the bed where he lounged, his posture relaxed yet commanding. The silence between them grew heavy until he finally spoke, breaking it.
"I'm sure you know why you're here," he said, his voice deep and velvety, carrying an air of dominance.
There was something familiar about that voice, too. It rang faintly in her memory, yet she couldn't place it. She didn't dwell on the thought for long, keeping her tone cold and composed. "What if I honestly don't understand why I'm here or why you summoned me?"
