That is for you to worry about

Even so, it wasn't embarrassing.

There were six military academies in the victorious fighting country, and this city's military academy was especially known for its strictness.

After all, the lord of this city was humanity's leader.

It was a military academy based in the city of the Supreme Commander, meaning the graduates joining the army from the academy were the Supreme Commander's direct subordinates.

Due to this, in keeping with society's idea of honor and pride, they couldn't just be anyone.

It was important to note, the country's army was unlike the usual armies of the world before the great rebirth.

After all, the old world had no concept of stellar cosmic energy, principles, and stellar fighters.

In the old world, two fists couldn't defeat four.

Guns, missiles, and bombs were all the order of the day.

Nuclear warheads?

There were individuals in the army capable of unleashing force equal to or greater than the old world's nuclear weapons.

Originating from their weapon's edge, or even fist, they had full control over such power, able to accumulate all the force in a single point, or towards a single object, negating the area of effect simultaneously.

These were merely members of the country's army, let alone the Otherworldly Knights who had enough power to shatter continents of the old world with a click of their tongue.

Terminating dwarf stars, and even the largest main sequence stars, these were all within the realm of possibility.

As for the five Human Martials, and the Supreme Commander above these five, the public simply titled their power as incomprehensible.

How could one pair of hands equal and surpass two or four pairs?

Well, this was how.

It meant that the country's army, especially the battalions directly under the Supreme Commander, preferred quality over quantity, making the scene of being released by the academy not something to be embarrassed about.

It's alright, after all, if everyone could jump out of mediocrity, then the concept of 'genius', would be nullified.

Even better, with the merit system in place, it was possible to raise one's status from the bottom of the hierarchy, all the way to the level of a victorious fighting soldier.

Though this path meant to perform an act no different than slaying a beast emperor by oneself, something above and beyond the average man's pay day, there was still a possibility.

'To earn enough merit to join the city troops or to become instructors at the military academy, these two would certainly go above and beyond to nurture those who seem to have a genuine possibility of entering the military academy.'

Anon pondered, 'This is why they're going so far, as to even prepare a program for us six, two weeks before the camp. All of this is within the rules of the academy.'

The military academy didn't concern itself with such matters.

In fact, they wished for the instructors to do this.

Go ahead, prepare as much as possible.

If there are more than one academy graduates to come from your camp, it is the culmination of luck, from your previous lives, luck that bestows upon you, great merit.

Reflecting on this, Anon sighed in amazement.

'Commendable, father.' He praised inwardly.

Humans, to rise from the ashes and take back the land that was once rightfully theirs, were instilled with the commonalities from birth, in home and school.

'Father understands the human nature, and with him establishing a new age after the desolate era, he forged society in such a beautifully structured way.'

Anon felt his heart thump with genuine awe.

Society honored the hero.

This was common even in the era of old.

In this new world, where individuals could wield immense power, society structured itself so that those with such power willingly became subservient to the six city lords.

In exchange, they acquired fortunes and fame, honor and prestige, women and authority.

There weren't any flaws, so the very ideas that led to one seeing it from such an angle wouldn't even begin to take shape.

'Father used the framework of the societal structure of the old world as this one's foundation, building and altering it to better suite this new world, really commendable.'

Anon felt the reverence children usually feel towards their father.

'Rolan and Parkinson don't even realize it. In fact, even I wouldn't have seen it from this angle if not for my knowledge of the old world, from father himself.'

Anon concluded, 'Indeed, they're so caught up in fame and fortune, all to achieve more merits, they diligently cultivate us geniuses, for their own benefit, for the betterment of humanity, and for Father, to maintain order in his stead, albeit unknowingly.'

Military zone #91 was the location of the 2081 camp of ten thousand.

Due to its location, Anon's home was the closest as the Allmond family's manor was the second closest.

Situated alongside Sky-bridge Boulevard, the military zone was protected by hundreds of meters of firm and sturdy walls.

A vehicle exited the major roadway and passed through three different layers of security before two large and imposing gates parted ways for it.

Within the military zone were dozens of structures laid out neatly.

"To prevent any unnecessary issues, males and females will stay in different dorms."

Parkinson smiled at Catharina as she exited the vehicle and took out her luggage before entering through the doors of a building that they had stopped in front of.

Soon after, Anon reached his stop.

"When all six of you are present, we'll show you guys around."

Parkinson looked at Anon standing outside the vehicle and explained, "They are already expecting your arrival so go on and acquire the permit to your room. If you want, you can have a look around, but you should wait for us to return."

Nodding his head, Anon unhurriedly asked, "What time will that be?"

"We'll be going for Andrew Webb and Melissa Green now. We should return in an hour and a half, but the fastest route to the White-sand district before heading to Orland Boulevard and then returning here has us reaching back at around seven." Parkinson conveyed.

"Brat, stop with the damn questions. We'll reach back at eight because of you." Rolan grumbled and forced Parkinson's glass to raise back up, as he drove off.

Tilting his head at this sight, Anon uttered confusedly, "I just asked one question?"

Shaking his head, he flung a duffle bag over his shoulder and stepped towards what he assumed to be the dormitory.

As his boots stepped onto the metallic floor of the inside, a mechanical voice resounded, "St. Hope high school's Anon. Blackridge district's final exams rank 1."

Instantly, over a dozen individuals going about their business turned to the entrance where he stood.

But these were quick glances as they swiftly went back to their tasks.

A dainty girl with a slender frame made some hurried steps towards Anon with a transparent holographic clipboard in hand.

Fixing the glasses on her nose bridge, she revealed a pleasing smile whilst slightly bowing an greeting him.

"Good morning, rank 1, you can just call me Elissa. I'm in charge of the day-to-day livelihood of the students in this dorm. Although it will only be four of you for the next two weeks, I'll still do my best to make sure that these two weeks are as comfortable as possible."

"Mmm," Anon nodded, before asking, "But is that how you refer to us in here?"

Lightly chuckling, Elissa's eyes smiled as she replied, "Indeed. No one likes to be called second or third, much less three hundred and four hundred. More importantly, the rank 1 has certain benefits throughout their stay in the camp that I'm sure they'll enjoy."

She continued, "The ranking within the camp is interchangeable, and as of now, it is in accordance with the results of the final exams. Not you, but if a student desires to be referred to as rank 1, defeat rank 1. Of course, from now on, theoretical knowledge is secondary, the stronger fist is most important."

Though subtle, her words contained a slight threat.

After all, there was a good chance that the children of the great families would be offended by Anon's ranking.

Some backwater kid without a surname was ranked number one.

'It doesn't spell good for this boy.' She thought.

There were three children of great families that would enter the camp early, of which, at least one might be awakened, and the other two would probably awaken soon.

As for this backwater kid…

"I understand." Anon nodded, "But I really wouldn't want to be disturbed every ten seconds from a challenge."

Voicing his troubles only made Elissa's smile widened as she replied, "That's for you to worry about."
