Lucian woke up for the second time that morning, but this time it was in his bed. It was indescribably more comfortable than the wall he had been propped up against previously, and the same warmth which had comforted him before was still present on his chest.
Luna was lying with her head on him, embracing him while still sleeping. Lucian had never expected his life to go in this direction, he had thought at some point he would awaken his power and then go on to fight against the monsters within the dungeons. He didn't know if he truly believed that he could permanently destroy them or not, but he at least wanted to assist the rest of humanity, but now he was sure of it.
Alongside the girl whom he had only just met, Lucian felt like he would be able to do anything.
'Who would've thought I'd be lying in bed with an alien? If you're looking down on me, Mom, Dad, I promise I will get revenge for you, but it's okay if I have a little happiness right?'
Lucian lay in bed thinking to himself, he wanted to avenge his parents, but at the same time, he didn't want to live like before. He didn't want to spend every waking moment dreaming of how he would wipe out the monster invasion.
"Morning handsome, how'd you sleep?"
His train of thought was broken by the sweet voice which came from below, "I think that was the best sleep I've ever had to be honest." He smiled to himself.
"Me too, I know that I sprung this whole being married thing on you out of nowhere and it was out of necessity, but I really am glad that I've linked with you."
"Me too, you managed to link our souls while I was unconscious, I don't know if that's common on your planet, but it seems to me as if it was meant to be."
"I know what you mean." She snuggled into Lucian more, clearly happy with her husband, even if they had only met a few hours before.
"I don't mean to ruin the mood, but if you don't mind me asking could you tell me more about you, about your planet, and what happened to it? If we're going to be linked I think we should learn more about each other.' Lucian was unsure of whether or not he should ask questions like this so soon, his lack of experience with other people meant he wasn't exactly the best at knowing what to and what not to do in social situations.
"I don't mind, but then I want to ask you as well after, deal?"
"Deal."
"Well, where should I start? You already know my name, but I should probably mention that I was the princess of the Empire that ruled my planet. That's the reason I was able to escape from my planet while everyone else died, including my parents." Luna looked sad when she said this and paused for a moment, Lucian knew that the pain of losing her parents would never leave, and it would be especially bad right after it had happened. He wrapped his arm around her tighter, hoping to comfort her somewhat. "I'm sorry, I still can't believe they're all dead."
"It's okay, I know how hard it is. Take your time, you can tell me some other time if you want to."
"No, it's okay. My planet was invaded, just like yours. For years everything was somewhat normal, we got used to the way things worked, clearing the dungeons to stop dungeon breaks. But out of nowhere the dungeons suddenly started becoming more dangerous, and more frequent. We couldn't keep up with the influx of high-rank dungeons, and eventually, they started coming through. Not the unintelligent monsters like how it started, no, they were smart. They claimed to be executives of a God of Monsters who supposedly orchestrates the existence of dungeons. They hid within our society and managed to summon their God, and from there we didn't stand a chance, I watched my planet be consumed by a monster unlike anything I had ever seen before, I can't even describe it." The look on Luna's face had been increasingly growing grimmer as she spoke, and the terror she felt towards the God of Monsters was obvious, "It's very possible that the executives are already on your planet. The ones who announced themselves to my people were only distractions to keep us busy while the real executives worked on summoning their God. I don't know how long your planet has, but I don't want to see what happened to my people happen to yours."
Lucian took all of the information in, shocked by what he was hearing, "This isn't good, but it's not necessarily bad either. The reason why the executives were able to do as they pleased on your planet is because nobody knew of their existence, but we do. it might be possible to stop them and make sure their God can't be brought to my planet. It will be difficult, but we have a starting point, something to aim for. I believe we can do it, do you?"
Luna smiled, the sadness on her face now gone, "I do, we can't let your planet be destroyed too."
"Well, what do you want to ask me then? I'll tell you whatever you want to know."
"This is exciting, uhm, what's your family like?"
"Funny you should ask, they've been dead for twelve years. They died fighting together to save the lives of myself and others. They were great people."
"I'm sorry, I didn't realise. They sound like great people."
"Don't worry about it, I guess that's something we have in common. You want to ask me anything else?"
"Just one more question, when can we start going into dungeons, we've got to get stronger after all."
"If you want we can get registered as Hunters today, it'll be your first official form of ID on Earth, we'll just say that your parents raised you away from society and that you've recently re-entered so you don't have any identification, sound good?"
Luna looked excited, "I can't wait, but what should I wear? I don't have any clothes apart from what I was wearing when I landed."
"That is a good question, we should probably go shopping first before anything else. I have some money saved up so I'll get you whatever you like."
"Thank you so much, Lu, I'm so glad that I decided to link with you. Nobody on my planet treated me this nicely, they were all fake nice, hoping to get on the good side of the princess, not me."
"No problem, I couldn't care less if you were a princess on your planet. Right now you're my wife, and that's what's important. Just wear what you were in before and we can go shopping."
"Okay babe, sorry, is it okay if I call you that?" Luna looked a little worried that she had made a mistake.
"Of course it is beautiful, come on." Lucian slid out of bed and extended his hand for Luna to join him. He didn't mind at all if they were moving quicker than most relationships, he had never felt this way in his life and he wasn't about to get in the way of his own happiness.
She grabbed his hand, allowing him to pull her up and out of the bed, bringing a blanket with her which she wrapped around her body.
"What do you think about coming into the shower with me? I feel dirty after sleeping outside last night."
"Shower? What's that?"
Lucian laughed, "Your planet didn't have showers? How did you clean yourselves?"
"We used cleansing stones, they just automatically made you clean when activated. What's a shower then, I'm interested."
"I can only really explain it as water raining down on you from holes in a metal thing, it'll be easier to show you rather than tell you. Come with me." Lucian led Luna by the hand, and she followed him to the bathroom.
It didn't take long for her to realise what a shower was or how it worked, and she was more than happy to go in with Lucian.
'I guess my years of training and isolation have really paid off. I wish my parents could have been here to meet Luna.' Lucian was lost in thought, enjoying his shower with Luna, and after around twenty minutes the two of them were clean and got out.
"Wow, that's so much more fun than using a cleansing stone. I want to have a shower every day!" Luna shouted excitedly.
Lucian smiled, looking at the ecstatic expression on her face, "You're so cute, you can have a shower whenever you want."
"Will you come in as well?"
"Of course, if I ever say no to that then there's something seriously wrong with me."
Luna giggled before hugging Lucian, both of them still in their towels.
"Let's get ready then."
Luna put on her outfit which she had been wearing earlier. It was surprisingly not particularly different from the fashion on Earth, a black and pastel pink skirt with a white long-sleeved crop top. She also had a pastel pink jacket and a pair of black, platform shoes. She didn't have to do anything with her hair, as somehow it was drying perfectly.
Lucian thought her outfit was incredibly cute, and didn't want to look out of place next to her. He decided to wear some of his nicer clothes. He put on a faded, dark grey t-shirt with a vintage graphic print of a film which had been popular around thirty years before which had previously belonged to his father. He also wore dark-washed denim jeans which had a relaxed fit. For shoes, Lucian decided on a pair of trainers which his father had owned since he was a child, they were vintage and were a dark grey colour with white accents. He decided to tie his hair up into a ponytail like he had the day before, as it looked neater than simply having it loose.
As they were ready to go out, Lucian took Luna's hand and led her outside, into her first real experience with Earth.
