Items Store and Stats assignment

Mark had 22 <Stats Points> remaining, and on his way to the apartment, he talked about them with Truck-kun. He got some of his thoughts about them to be true, while some didn't seem to benefit him as he thought.

Since he wanted to improve his Skills, he had to focus on helpful Stats, especially his <Martial Art>.

His <Mind> affected both <Appraisal> and <Minor Energy Manipulation>, helping to control them better. It wasn't the same as leveling up the Skill, as that indicated he understood to a degree the knowledge he had received from reaching the Skill in its current State. Increasing his <Mind> would just make the journey to do that much faster.

But in theory, his <Endurance> also affected both Skills, as it increased his SP, and both used SP. He had found it weird that they were doing so, as usually in games, people had something like MP or Mana instead of Skills or PP, Power Points, etc. He had asked Truck-kun about it, but he got no response.

As for his <Martial Art> Skill, it also was affected by multiple of his Stats. <Mind> would help with his focus on Trucki and increasing his control over it. <Agility> and <Power> were also necessary as both speed and strength were essential parts of different techniques of Trucko.

The two techniques that Mark currently used, the most basic of the Trucki-based ones, didn't need their user to use too much speed or force behind their attack. Instead, they just needed perfect control over his Trucki.

Still, the damage of his attacks would increase if he increased his <Power>, and his attack rate and reflexes would increase with his <Agility>. <Endurance> once more would be helpful, as even if manipulating Trucki didn't use SP itself, trying to keep the shell shape on his first and feet did if he kept them for long. Also, each attack of his consumed some SP, as it was a physical activity.

'<Endurance> and <Mind> are the most important for now. They will help me fight for longer periods and boost my control over my Skills. After that, I think <Agility> is over <Power>, as even if I just fight slow enemies now, that won't be the case always, and I prefer to avoid attacks instead of taking them. Still, I shouldn't keep my <Defence> too low. '

Fortunately, Mark didn't have to consider increasing his <Luck> as his <Stat Points> didn't work on it. Still, <Luck> seemed like a valuable Stat to increase, as he was confident that what happened with the Landlady was because of that 1 point of <Luck>. So hopefully, he could find another way to increase it.

And then it was that Mark remembered something else as he opened his [Store]. There was a third option, other than <Drive Skills> and <Truck Upgrades> that he hadn't checked yet —- the <Items> option.

As he pressed that one, another panel appeared similar to the other two panels of the [Store]. It indeed had different items, with different effects, and as expected, everything cost <Truck Coins>.

He didn't have the option to use <Truck Points> on them, as it seemed it was only usable on Skills and Upgrades. The filters, in this case, didn't filter them only by rank but also by type of item, like armor, weapon, etc.

Mark felt like being back in his gaming days and wanted to buy everything. But unlike back then, his current self was too poor to do so. Still, he could at least browse to see if there was anything good to keep his mind on buying in the future.

He found out it also had the <Empty Training Crystal> for him to buy, but Mark was confident he couldn't get one soon after checking its price. It cost 999 <Truck Coins>, which wasn't the most expensive item.

Some items reached four digits price and were just a couple of hundred from getting the fifth one. Mark still didn't know how he could earn <Truck Coins>, but if the rare <Empty Training Crystal> cost that much, he was sure it wasn't easy.

Mark had put a price filter to under ten <Truck Coins>, and only D-Rank requirement and under, as some items did not need a rank to use them. He took notice of the few things that seemed helpful, even if they weren't the most expensive ones, as some of them had <Stat Buffs>, especially the armor that increased his <Defence>, as expected.

Actually, all armors had a <Defence> boost, while the weapons focused on either boosting <Agility> or <Power> and, in some rare cases, boosting his <Mind> instead. Some items increased by more than one Stat but were outside the price range he had put for now.

But in the end, Mark could get even a single of these items, as he hadn't earned a single <Truck Coin> during his <Dugeon> exploration.

'Maybe I should try some different things to complete another of those challenges, and I may luck out.'

There wasn't in the items and <Truck Coin Chest>, which Mark expected to be the case, as otherwise would have been like a bug in a game. During his fights in the <Dungeon>, nothing he accomplished completed a Challenge, but he hadn't done something too strange or impressive. He fought for his life against monsters that an average human could most likely die against, but was that impressive to do with his current abilities?

In the end, Mark closed all panels except for his [Status], as he was ready to spend his <Stats Points>. And as he was prepared to do so, he started hearing something.

'Is that my truck's engine? '

Mark turned towards the source of the sound, failing to comprehend how close it really was. The truck was right next to him and kept moving.

And so Mark got hit by his own Truck.

He opened his eyes and raised himself from his bed, breathing heavily like he had just finished running a marathon or something. All the air had left his lungs because of the shock, so he started breathing heavily and trying to calm down.

"Oh, you are awake. What did you think of my alarm function? "

Mark turned towards the phone that the voice came out of and was staring at it intensely. If looks could cause damage, that phone could be into a million pieces at that point.

"Next time, how about just shouting or some song? I would prefer not to have a heart attack so young. "

Mark could hear some sound coming from the phone, which he wasn't 100% certain about, but it sounded like giggling. Before sleeping, he had thought it strange that Truck-kun had agreed to wake him up that easily, and now he knew why.

Mark looked at the time and noticed that he had slept for close to ten hours. It wasn't an unusual amount of time for him to sleep, especially if he didn't have any planned delivery. Most times, after returning from a busy day, he had eight to nine hours of sleep.

'I guess I was more tired than I had thought. '

"So you tried to use your <Stats Points> before, didn't you? You better not waste them. "

Mark wanted to go back to assigning them, but then he had a question popping up in his mind.

"Actually, is there a way to assign my <Stats Points>? "

That was an option in some RPG games, as there were many times that people regretted their decisions on how to assign their stats. They needed to use an expensive item, which Mark didn't find in the [Store].

Still, he had to make sure if it was possible or not.

"Hmmm… it is possible, or at least as far as I know. I had heard tales of people or items that can do something like that but have never encountered one. They are rarer than < High-Quality Dungeon Crystals> if they exist, so I wouldn't count on ever finding one. "

Mark nodded as it genuinely sounded like an impossible thing to happen, but he didn't think it was impossible as far as there was even a single chance.

And so he used every single of his <Stats Points> in the best way he had considered for his current situation.

And as he did so, he looked at his updated [Status].
