The News of Their Divorce Has Spread

"…" Upon hearing this, Xu Zhiyin was stupefied for only two seconds before she regained her senses. She couldn't imagine what would happen if mother were to see Chuxia with Ji Liunian.

That moment, she couldn't think too much. She swiftly went to Chuxia's ward. Although she hated Chuxia, she didn't want her mother to cause chaos for her sake.

Chuxia was not just anyone. She had Ji Liunian to protect her and because of her miscarriage, Ji Liunian had misunderstood that the miscarriage was related to Xu Zhiyin.

If her mother were to act rashly, no explanation would be able to save the situation.

"How can you seduce someone else's husband? Aren't you shameless? Is this how your parents taught you?"

Before entering, Xu Zhiyin heard her mother's angry accusation toward Chuxia.

She walked in and saw Ji Liunian's cold face, about to flare up. He was enduring as if he was concerned about Madam Xu's status as a senior and was waiting for Xu Zhiyin to come over to handle her.

"Mother!" Xu Zhiyin walked in and tugged her mother immediately. She was so anxious, she almost cried, "Why are you here? What do you want to do?"

She was keeping Ji Liunian and Chuxia's relationship a secret so that the news will not spread in the hospital. Now that her mother was scolding Chuxia openly, everyone in the hospital would know about it!

Madam Xu didn't bother about the doctors and nurses surrounding them, "I know this has to do with her. That's why I'm here."

"Mother!" Xu Zhiyin peeked at Ji Liunian and found that he had a long face. He loved Chuxia and naturally would not want her mother to bully Chuxia…

Madam Xu ignored what Xu Zhiyin said. She knew Xu Zhiyin had always been gentle and agreeable. She looked at Chuxia who was silent at the moment. "Liunian and Zhiyin had been married for three years. You suddenly appear and so, you're the third party. It isn't just me, even your parents won't let you go just like that!"

Madam Xu was not exaggerating. Chuxia's parents had been disappointed with Chu Xia since three years ago, it was Chu Xia who abandoned Ji Liunian.

Moreover, according to the Xu family's style, they would definitely not allow their daughter to do such a thing.

"This has nothing to do with Chuxia. Don't blame her." Ji Liunian immediately defended Chuxia. He couldn't help it as Madam Xu had hit Chu Xia just now.

Madam Xu darted him a glance and was not as polite toward Ji Liunian as Xu Zhiyin, "So, I can blame you? What did you say when you married Zhiyin? You said you would treat her well. That was why I gave my daughter to you. Now? What's my daughter to you? When you want her, you get her and when you don't want her, you can abandon her? These few years, your parents did not complain about her. What has she done wrong that you would want to divorce her and allow her to become a divorcee?"

Xu Zhiyin's head was aching terribly. There were many people at the scene and this news would be spread out fast. Her mother seemed to be defending her but she had not considered her feelings.

She stared at her mother and wanted to stop her, "Mother, can you please stop? Even if you want to make a scene, please don't do it at my workplace!"

"I'm doing this for your sake!" Madam Xu looked at Chuxia but did not think she had done something too extreme. "She stole your husband and still has the cheek to come to this hospital for you to serve her! You don't have to cover up for her."

"…" Xu Zhiyin looked at Chuxia. Her mother had actually said what she was thinking. She agreed with her mother but she didn't want her mother to make a scene here because it brought no benefit to anyone.

Madam Xu refused to let them win. She looked at Ji Liunian and continued, "Break off all relations with this woman immediately and I can pretend nothing happened."

Ji Liunian was an arrogant man and did not like to be threatened. It was impossible for him to agree to Madam's Xu's request in such circumstances.

He glanced at Xu Zhiyin and said disappointedly, "If you do not wish for Chuxia to stay here, just tell me directly. You don't need to ask your mother to make a scene here."

"I…" Xu Zhiyin wanted to explain but could say nothing.

Ji Liunian blamed her! Was she such a person in his eyes?

Ji Liunian waved and very quickly, his personal assistant chased Madam Xu and several unrelated people out of the ward. He made a call to arrange for a switch of hospital. Then, he informed Xu Zhiyin, "I'll switch Chuxia to another hospital and I won't come to this hospital ever again."

"I didn't ask my mother to come." Xu Zhiyin explained with unbearable feelings.

Could he stop misunderstanding her without finding out the real reason?

"This isn't important anymore." Ji Liunian was indifferent, "You know very well about our relationship. Find a chance to explain to your mother. I've never loved you and haven't taken advantage of her daughter. So, please ask her not to bother me and Chuxia anymore!"

On the day they divorced, Ji Liunian was still gentle but after the incident these two days, he was at the peak of disappointment. 

Hence, his tone of voice had turned from gentle to indifferent.

Once two people parted, the distance between them would inevitably get farther and farther away.

That afternoon, Ji Liunian brought Chuxia to Hai Qiao Hospital which was the competitor of the hospital Xu Zhiyin worked in.

This implied he and Xu Zhiyin would draw a clear line between them from now on.

This was the first time she had been criticized since the day she started work in this hospital. Previously, she was Ji Liunian's wife and no one would criticize her but now, she had lost this identity.

In the washroom, Xu Zhiyin washed her hands repeatedly and her mood was at the rock bottom.

Her mother making a scene in the hospital had caused everyone to know about their divorce. She would definitely become the target of reproach.

The phone on the washbasin counter rang. She dried her hands with a towel and answered the call. "Hello."

"Is this Dr. Xu?"

"Yes, speaking, who's that speaking please?"

"I'm the reporter of Donglin Magazine. I heard you and Mr. Ji Liunian got divorced. Can I get an interview with you?" 

"…" Upon hearing this, Xu Zhiyin immediately ended the call without a second thought.

Oh dear, the reporters had come to look for her!

She could predict that the news of their divorce would raise a colossal uproar.

It was 2 pm in the afternoon and she went for lunch with Gu Nantian. Then, she went to the washroom.

She was rejoicing that the director assigned her to Gu Nantian's case. With the incident which had just happened, she didn't need to face gossip and eyes which stared at her like staring at a beast in the hospital every day.

After Xu Zhiyin washed her hands and readjusted her emotions, she walked to the restaurant disheartened. The minute she walked in, her arms were held by a woman who was wearing and holding a Chanel handbag. She called her in surprise, "Xu Zhiyin!"

Xu Zhiyin looked at the woman in front of her. "Xia Nana?"

"Yes, you still remember me." With folded arms, Xia Nana skimmed through Xu Zhiyin and smiling said, "It's such a coincidence to meet you here. I heard that you have divorced?"
