Lawrence's Lament

Lawrence and Cameron were sitting in the living room, both sipping on glasses of scotch. It wasn't something that they did often anymore, but this was an exception. Emily had long since gone to bed. Lawrence was glad for it, as he was sure Cameron was as well. He hated seeing the way she threw herself at Cameron. It was just pathetic. Lawrence had never liked her anyway, but that was just the icing on the cake.

Cameron spoke up. "So what's on your mind, my friend?"

Lawrence looks at him coyly. "Why does something have to be on my mind for me to want to have a glass of liquor with my best friend?"

Cameron let out a small chuckle. "Because I've known you long enough to know when something is on your mind. Come on then, out with it."

Lawrence smiles and shakes his head. He was glad Cameron knew him so well. It made getting to the point of an issue easier. "I'm worried."

"About what?"
