Yi Ran

Coming out of the gym, Ning Qi hired a taxi once more, thinking that taking a taxi every time would be too expensive for everyday purposes for the time being.

He decided to think about other ways, as he may need transportation daily for his sect.

At 4:30 pm, he reached his room and went directly for a bath. He went to many locations today, and he felt exhausted even though he is full of energy because of his newly gained stats.

But humans being what they are, have this mental barrier in which they sometimes feel things subconsciously, even though they are not really experiencing those feelings.

For example, many people get panic attacks while taking THC. Some of these people will even have illusions, which may lead them to disastrous causes.

As such, it's always better to stay away from things that control you instead of letting you control them.

After taking a bath, Ning Qi felt fresh and decided to wear something good, as he was going out anyway.

Ning Qi sat on the couch, turned on the TV, and waited for Li Ping to come. Li Ping's shift will be over by 6 in the evening. He will be able to reach the house around 6:30 p.m.

At 6:20 pm, Li Ping came back and went to freshen up after looking at Ning Qi, who was engrossed in a movie.

Ning Qi isn't an avid fan of movies or basically the entire entertainment industry, or else he would have been able to recognize Lian Hua, who is a big singer.

But he wasn't like that when he was at graduation. He just stopped caring about that once he got into work and doesn't have much time for that.

But the movie he is watching now is a zombie-related movie, and Ning Qi is just floating around in his thoughts of how he may have dealt with the situation in the movie with his newly gained powers.

Soon, Li Ping came out of the bedroom, looking quite good. Li Ping is actually just like Ning Qi, with above-average looks, but he usually works out and has a good body.

"Ah! Old Ning, why are you interested in movies all of a sudden? Let's go quickly... I have invited two of my colleagues to go with us. Both of them are pretty ladies, and it took me a long time to let them agree to this dinner meeting."

Li Ping said excitedly, seeing Ning Qi still engrossed in that dumb movie, which failed at the box office disastrously.

"Huh? Why didn't you tell me you were inviting someone else, and that it was to girls?"

Ning Qi finally responded and looked at Li Ping with a questioning face.

"Bruh! I know what you are thinking already. Don't make it sound like I don't know you, alright? Back in those days, you were the one who did it more than me, and I even came in last. We are already at the age of marriage, and I'm giving you the opportunity now... So, you better take this chance to get together with one of those two girls. Both of them are pretty, and one of them is campus belle level."

Li Ping scoffed at Ning for making that questioning face at him.

They even had some girls that chased after them, but all of them are average. So these two neglected them.

Ning Qi blushed a bit with shame, he didn't really mean to question his buddy but got surprised by it.

After he joined the company, he didn't have that many thoughts about girls. His only thought was to earn as much money as possible to become a financially free person.

Even though he knows that he won't be able to achieve that goal and will be the same as every normal man, who just yearns for that freedom and works their asses off till they become old and unable to work anymore.

A man definitely needs such aspiration to go on, even though only 0.5 percent or even less achieve it.

As for the girls, he had his fair share of chances to get one. just like Su Xiao, his colleague from work, and Wen Fen, whom his little sister is trying to set him up with.

Li Ping harrumphed and let Ning Qi drag him. They soon walked to the restaurant, which is only around half a kilometer from their location.

The restaurant itself is a very famous one in Guilin, called Chunji Roast Goose Restaurant, which is famous for its roast goose. It's more expensive to dine at than the one that Ning Qi went to with his sister this afternoon.

"It's going to put a hole in our pockets, Li Ping! And also, I forgot to tell you that I resigned from my job today..."

Ning Qi spoke slowly and explained to Li Ping.

"Hm! You may get impulsive there, Old Ning! But I would do the same thing as you if I were in your place. Don't worry much and take a break, I will check if there are any jobs available in my company. Also! Don't mention a thing about you not doing the job with the girls, I already told them everything about you. Now if you say that you aren't doing any job, this dinner date will go badly, OK?"

Ning Qi said to himself, even though he knew that Li Ping was just comforting him by saying that he would get a job for him in his company. Ning Qi knows that sales jobs in his company are very few.

Li Ping gave Ning Qi a long look and took his mobile to make a call...but he instead got a call from his colleagues, asking them to come inside the restaurant, as they were already waiting at the reception hall.

"Let's go old Ning! They are already inside waiting for us." Li Ping dragged Ning Qi into the restaurant.

Li ping looked around after entering the restaurant and walked toward two girls who were chatting in the hallway.

He dragged Ning Qi towards them, both of them are really pretty girls, especially the one in red attire, who looks a bit taller than the other girl, with a lean body, but with the right proportions, she looks stunning.

Ning Qi got mesmerized by her, and his heartbeat rose a bit, but he quickly controlled himself.

He really won't be able to manage a girlfriend at this moment, as he doesn't know what's going to happen.

He won't be able to give her any valuable time to get to know each other. And there is one more strong reason, which even Li Ping doesn't know.

"Hey! Lili, Ranran... you guys are pretty early!"

Ling Ping talked with them and got their attention instantly.

They exchanged glances with Li Ping and then with Ning Qi. Both girls looked a bit surprised as they saw Ning Qi looking at them too, but there was neither obsessiveness nor lust in his eyes.

He just looked at them as though he appreciated their beauty for a second, with surprise flashing in his eyes, but soon they returned to normal.

"Your friend is good Ping Ping! Won't you introduce him to us?"

That short girl is very cute. She took a look at her friend, who was still looking at Ning Qi and asked Li Ping.

"Obviously! My friend here is one fine man, which you won't find easily these days... He .."

Li Ping was about to boast a bit more about Ning Qi but got cut short by Ning Qi, making him swallow the words that he was about to say.

"Hello, Ladies! I'm Ning Qi, don't listen to his nonsense. He always likes to boast a lot. Let's have a wonderful dinner night."

Ning Qi doesn't want Li Ping to continue, so he presented himself.

"Hi! I'm Jia Li, and this is my best friend, Yi Ran. Hehe! We are already used to Ping Ping, don't worry about him."

Jia Li, the short girl, said as she looked up and down at Ning Qi for a moment.

"Hi! I'm Yi Ran, nice to meet you."

Yi Ran also said this and took her hand out for a handshake. Ning Qi also responded back, with his hand gently holding her hand. Her hands are very soft and an absolute bliss for her husband, who gets to hold them forever.

"Hm! Ran, I never saw you provocatively asking for a handshake from a man. You look like you took a liking to Ning Qi, or are you just in heat?"

Jia Li slowly went close to Yi Ran's ear and whispered. Even though it was a whisper, both Ning Qi and Li Ping heard her clearly. Ning Qi doesn't know how to respond and just looks away.

Yi Ran blushed a bit and looked at Ning Qi, who looked away as though he didn't hear what they were talking about, making it even more obvious, and that blush went up a bit more.

She did have a very good impression of Ning Qi, who impressed her, unlike other men who usually looked at her with lust.

She was born into a small family and studied well to become the person she is now. Her parents had been asking her about marriage for a long time, but she was too preoccupied with her work and building her life to consider it until now.

When she heard about Ning Qi from Li Ping, she found that Ning Qi was just an exact copy of her and had a good impression. Now that impression has climbed a bit more.

She humphed slightly but couldn't bring herself to scold and ignored Jia Li, who is still gloatingly looking at her.

"Alright, Jia Li, don't tease her anymore. You know, she won't scold you now but will ignore you for days, huh? Let's go and get a private room first, we can talk more while we are eating."

Li Ping is a good friend of theirs, knowing that Jia Li is just teasing Yi Ran. But both of them know that Yi Ran is a bit interested in Ning Qi now.

He looked at his brother for a second and decided to settle with Jia Li, who obviously has more interest and matches his personality than Yi Ran.

"Alright! Let's go, or else we won't find any private rooms and will have to eat in the common hall."

Ning Qi also said as he wanted to change the atmosphere. They soon walked towards the reception, with Ning Qi and Li Ping at the front and Jia Li and Yi Ran, who still looked a bit embarrassed, in the back.
