The room was empty but the presentation was still up. I looked underneath the row I sat and sure enough, I found my phone laying under my seat. I walked over and stooped down to grab my phone when I suddenly heard the door open. Surprised, I hit my head against the table while trying to get up.
"Are you okay?" asked someone behind me.
Rubbing the back of my head, I turn to face the voice. A tall man stood a few feet away, his hands in his pockets. Isn't this the Mr. Han that gave the presentation earlier???
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just bumped my head against the table." I said, a little embarrassed.
"What are you doing here then?" he asks.
"I was trying to get my phone, it fell underneath the seat," I replied.
Looking at Mr. Han again, the feeling of familiarity came back. Where had I seen those pairs of eyes before??? A short moment of ponder later, I realized who I was looking at. My eyes widened with surprise as everything clicked together in my head.
"Oh my god, it's you!" I suddenly yelled, "You're that rich cafe guy I met this morning!"
The man gave me a puzzled expression before the realization set in.
"You're that boy who stared at me at the cafe this morning aren't you?" Mr. Han said, a smile slowly forming on his lips.
My face immediately flushed from the memory of what I did this morning.
"W-well, I wasn't necessarily staring… it just... it just sort of happened..." I said as the feeling of embarrassment took over me.
I could hear Mr. Han quietly laughing in front of me. His laughter was rich and masculine but gentle at the same time. Looking down at the floor, I couldn't help but smile too.
A moment later, Mr. Han spoke again.
"I see you're interested in working in the finance department," He said.
"Yeah, it's my major…" I replied, I still couldn't bring myself to look him in the face.
"How would you feel about taking it a step further?" he asks.
"A step further?" I repeated, my head immediately snapping up.
"An internship," said Mr. Han.
My mouth fell open. An internship??? This man is offering me an internship?! I couldn't believe my luck. Without a second of hesitation, I accepted his offer and was off on my way. Walking down the halls, my excitement had not faded. I can't believe that me, out of all people, would land an internship on my very first day here! I practically skipped down the hallway out of pure joy and happiness.
Back at my apartment, I decided to do some research on the Han Corps to see what kind of a company I'm going to be working with. My eyes literally popped out my sockets when I read the Zikipedia page. The Han Corps is an enormous firm started by the Han family 15 years ago, it is currently worth 1.5 trillion RMB. The previous CEO was the father of Han Lei Ye. The company was passed to him 2 years ago.
After I finished scanning over the Ziki page, the shock was still in me. I can't believe the CEO himself offered me an internship. What are the chances of that happening?! I do hope I left a good impression on him...
