"Huh?..... You are an orphan?". I asked while repeating what I had just heard.
The female cop just shakes her head sideways and excuses….. so that we can now get going.
Jefferson didn't reply to my questions…… and he just remained calm.
"What's going on here?". Josh was the one to break the awkward silence that arose between all of us.
"Keep it down". Both I and Jeff said, which was at the same time.
"Jeez…… I'll be heading out first then!". He declared, but I and Jeff weren't in the right mood to give a response to him.
He exhales and also shakes his head sideways.
Josh had no other option, but to walk away which created space for both I and Jeff to talk to each other.
"When is your birthday?". He asked while arching his brow.
Jeff asked this question when the both of us were now left alone to walk on the cold empty street.
"December 16, 1996!". I replied sincerely.
