My Path To Becoming A God-Slayer

There I was, standing, waiting to be judged, at the Altar of the Gods. “You, Mikaela, have been sentenced to Death Eternal for being a traitor.” At those words, I froze. Death Eternal. The punishment only the most serious of crimes would get. “What did I do wrong?” I asked. But I didn’t get an answer. Yet here I am, reincarnated. After regressing from the status of a deity to that of a mortal hundreds of thousands of years ago, Sung-Ho Chen has to survive in a ruined world, while learning the truth of the Constellations. Fighting through challenges, levelling up, gaining items and skills, authorities, but there seems to be an error. All challenges are set to Insanity-Level! How will he survive? I must find the truth behind it all. I must find what the Gods are hiding from me, and why they hate the humans so. And once I do, I will become the strongest, and create a new order, a fair order. My name will surpass the sun, the moon, and the Gods. Just you wait.

Chapter 4- Awakening

My hands were shaking, as I sat there, waiting to die. Becoming mortal had changed me. I could feel all sorts now. Fear, that was what coursed through me at the current moment.

I couldn't even stand. I had no feet, because Theseus, the King, had sliced them off. Theseus was now holding a long lance, which he swung down with force. Barely holding my sword up to parry, it shattered into millions of pieces, and I barely rolled sideways. The next would be my end.

Theseus thrust the spear forward, into my chest, and I pierced out the other side of my back. I could do nothing as I coughed up mouthfuls of my own blood, lying there in a pool of it.

Why....?

WHY?

WHY?!

Those cowards…

Da-Ding!

[You have completed the Aeon Awakening test! Unique quest has been completed: Compassion of the Powerless Deity!]

[Welcome, Aeon. The Awakening process has begun. Loading.....]

There was a burst of blue light. Wisps of smoke rose from the ground, intoxicating me. A drug….?My body was carried up into the air, and dropped back down again, my eyes, closing as I blacked out.

I awoke, in a hospital bed. Wasn't I supposed to be dead? My arms and legs were heavy, too heavy. Wait, legs. I reached down. My feet were there. But how?

The doctor standing above me hair grey hair, and a lopsided smile. "Good morning, Mr. Sung. How are you? I must say, surviving a dungeon with no feet is an impressive feat."

[Good morning, Sung Ho.] A woman's voice rang clearly through my head.

[I am the voice of the Aeon awakening system, which all Aeons have.] (Challengers is now 'Aeons')

[Would you like to proceed with the Tutorial?]

I shook my head. My status window popped up, and there was only one quest, and it was a side one. There was also an.....error?

[Error- All quests have been set to Insanity-Level. SIDE QUEST: Complete all main quests given on insanity level to regain the status of a Deity.]

Regain my status...?

Hell yeah.

And when I did, the ones who made me like this are going to rue the day they decided to mess with me.

[Titles- Slayer Of The Fallen Ruler.]

[Skills- Vengeance Of The Fallen]

[Type-Changeable] That surprised me. Weren't types supposed to be set? And I was able to 'change' mine whenever I pleased?

The Tutorial. Something which all Aeons must go through in order to learn the laws of this world

Proceed I would.

[Tutorial…beginning in 3…..2…..1…..]

Ding!

There was a noise as if someone had just got a notification.

[Welcome to the 'Tutorial'.]

[Skills gained outside of the Tutorial are being blocked. Enemy strength is being calculated...]

[Enemy strength calculations complete! MAIN QUEST of FLOOR 1: Defeat two Frost Wolves, and the boss, Agrak, King Of The Frost Wolves. Tutorial Level: Insanity. Error….unable to change.]

I was in a dimly lit room, definitely underground. A few iron crates were in the corner, with a couple dents in.

Wait…..

If I was going to be fighting, my sword had broken.

Ah, what a fool I had been!

Luckily for me, on top of the metal crates, there was a spear. But I wasn't a Lancer. How could I wield a spear?

Whatever. It was all I had. Taking the spear in my hands, I picked it up. It was balanced on either end, good.

[Learning class: Lancer.]

[Class…learnt!]

[Basic Spear Skills Lv1 gained.]

The spear now seemed easier to wield than before. Calling up my status window, it seemed my Class was Now

Lancer>Swordsman.

Whichever one came first seemed to indicate what I was currently using. I spun the spear between my fingers a few times. Now I had to start the first floor. As you went up the floors, you would eventually reach floor 100. The difficulty increased as you went up, and you could leave anytime and continue with your progress.

[ Entering Floor 1: Glaciers.]

Floor 1 was very cold. They were a few cold-resistant jackets nearby, but not much else. The place was laden with icicles, jutting up from the floor.

That was when I met a Frost Wolf. It growled at me, instantaneously becoming hostile. I barely drew by left leg back to dodge to the side in time.

I turned, and sprinted. But there was no way I could outrun a wolf.

"WHEN I FIND WHO PUT ME UP TO INSANITY LEVEL I'M GONNA KILL THEM!!" I screamed, leaping over icicles that I didn't have time to dodge. The wolf's jaws clamped down on my leg, causing my excruciating pain.

I still had my spear. I stabbed it down, stabbing the wolf that had just bit me in the neck, but it's skin was too tough, and the spear didn't go through.

I really needed to upgrade my stats….

The only part of the Frost Wolf that is uncovered is it's underbelly. But how could I reach that.

An idea reached me. By baiting it out, I could attack.

I stood still, waiting for it to jump. And just like i predicted, it jump, and bit into my shoulder. It's belly was uncovered.

3….2….1…Now!

Repeatedly jabbing it's underbelly, while it held down with a grip of steel onto my shoulder, the teeth finally slackened and it fell to the ground, dead.

The body dissolved, however it left back a few things.

[Killed a Frost Wolf!]

[Gained: 3 Unassigned Stat points, Frost Wolf Claws x 1, Frost Wolf Fangs x2, Frost Wolf Meat x3.]

If I had to fight more of those wolves he was on, I should increase my stats.

[Level: 3]

[Stats: Strength: 5

Agility: 5

Durability: 3

Intelligence: 6 ]

That meant I should increase strength and agility, in order to pierce it's skin.

I increased my strength by 2, and my agility by 1.

Strength: 7

Agility: 6.

After hunting a few more of those wolves, I sat down to look at what I had gotten.

[Note: Because you have killed 11 Frost Wolves, the Boss Room has been opened!]

[Level: 25]

[Stats: Strength: 15

Agility: 15

Durability: 11

Intelligence: 14 ]

Making my way towards the boss room, there was, again, double doors. I pushed them open. This wouldn't be like the time with Theseus.

It wouldn't.

[Boss Room: Agrak, King Of The Frost Wolves- Opened!]

The boss room certainly contained more light than the rest of Floor 1. Torches were lit all around, however snow blasted me in the face. It was then I realised I was standing in snow, and Agrak was nowhere to be seen, so I looked upwards.

Agrak's claws raked down my back, causing me to be given the effect 'Frostbite.'

Damnit. My MP meter was out, and my health was 100/10,000. And it was slowly being drained, due to the Frostbite effect. I didn't have any healing potions on me either.

Was I really about to die here?

To this thing?
