Chapter 13: Naga City

Naga City, this was the nearest city at the border p Gago Kingdom and Beast man territory. The city was the third of the largest City within the Kingdom of Gago.

Inside the Town hall.

A man who was standing, and two knights were kneeling with one of their feet on the floor was conversing.

"What did you say, the bandits are appearing again?" The man said with a tone of anger.

This man was in his 50s with long beard and mustache, he has an aura of authority within him showing his leadership authority.

This man was Lord Barduk, he is the acting cyity Lord within the Naga City.

In front of him, two knights was reporting with an anxious look at their face, sweat was dripping on their face from facing the aura of this Lord.

"Yes lord, the informant from the Cape Town reported yesterday that the bandits can be seen passing through their location, it was also confirmed by the residents of the Cape Town. From what we conclude, they may possibly hiding at the east forest, near at the Beast man territory"

Lord Barduk frown, hearing that the bandits may hiding on the east forest.

He suddenly remembered a person, "If I am not wrong, one of the Young Master of Chris family was deployed to take care of the land on that place? Is there any news on that person?" He asked.

One of the knight step up, " Yes Lord, last time some knights of the Young Master of Chris family from the border visit Naga City, they only brought food and group of slaves including some children slaves".

When Lord Barduk heard that children slaves were included, he thought that it was suspicious, he knows that the Chris family leave that descendant of them to that place to abandon him. What was suspicious is why does Viscount Eduard wanted children slave.

Does he have some sort of fetish over children?

He stop thinking this matter and gave his order to the knights.

" Okay, monitor the movements of the bandits. Once another case of bandits attack appeared, tell the men on the Cape Town to be alert in monitoring. We will send troops on that border to look for them. Also, check out the situation on the territory of the Young Master of Chris family, but don't disturb them."

Everyone nodded to the instruction of Lord Baduk and proceeded to their own business.

The household of Eduard.

Eduard just came home, his looks was worn out and blood was everywhere in his clothes. He just finished hunting from the forest.

Roxy wait for him outside the door, the fox beast woman had decided to stay in his mansion and was assigned to be one of the maid at his mansion. She chose to stay to repay Eduard's kindness as well as to help her father recovered.

"Welcome home young master" she greeted, she took the sword from his hips to place on its rack.

"Oh thank you Roxy, don't wash the sheath. I will be the one to take care of it. By the way, is my sister at home yet? " He asked. Eduard was now inside the room and didn't see his sister inside when he entered.

Roxy turn around and gracefully respond. "Young Mistress is with Miss Angie, she is helping out Miss Angie on managing the farm land. They should be coming home soon."

"Okay I understand, go get me some water, please."

Roxy immediately move to the kitchen to get water for him.

Estrella was now helping out with Angie works, she has nothing to do,

that is why she decided to help in managing the territory. She is now following Angie to learn on managing the farm land, she is managing the old area while Angie look at the corn area since that side was needed for more attention after planting.

The issue about his hunting was also resolved, well he was already at 7th tier.

His improvements were fast, in the eyes of her sister, he was at 5th rank of iron level. If she learned that he had improve to 7th rank within 5 days she will be shocked to death.

Well, also his progress on hunting beast was already half on the needed numbers, he was planning that by tomorrow he will be venturing the East Forest solo.

This was to speed up his progress, since he was planning to look at the Naga City for any blacksmith that he can hire.

Even though he can already leave the rest of hunting to his knights and look for blacksmith, he is still lack in gold. He decided that portion of the money earned from materials taken from the beast would be used to hire the blacksmith.

Roxy come from the kitchen bringing a glass of water. She put the water on the table near Eduard.

At the same time, the door opened and his sister came in, she take the water on the table and immediately drink it. Roxy wanted to tell something, but she was late to tell her.

"Gulp, gulp, ahhh. How refreshing" she said. When she turn her eyes at the side, she was shocked from seeing Eduard, she didn't know that he had already come home.

"Oh, welcome back brother, how is your hunting today. Did you Hunted a lot?"

She put down the glass on the table. Roxy on the side take it. She wanted to pour another glass for Eduard.

"Hmm, just fine. We just hunted 5 beast today" he explained.

Estrella look all over his body, she was checking out if there are any injuries in his body. When she confirmed that he don't have any injuries, she return her attention to Eduard.

"By the way, how is your observation today? Have you learned anything?" Eduard asked.

He was still worrying if her sister could properly do the work.

This is the first time that he know that she was assigned to managing task.

"Don't worry, I can manage it. Don't forget that we are educated by the family wit territory managing since young age." She paused for a while pondering for something. She has forgotten that her brother did not able to learn anything since the family was cold towards him.

Eduard was enlightened by her explanation.

" Okay, that is good. Just remember that do not mistreat the slave. They should be fed properly and have some rest at the afternoon, it could help to maintain their work quality".

Estrella was shocked again by the words of Eduard, they were from a large aristocratic family, they do not care about their own slave. As long as they can do their work, they would be compromised to work. There is no such thing like rest and eat in afternoon, as long as the sun was not going down, they should continue their work.

For her, Eduard was making the slave works easy. At first, she wondered why this people was happily doing their work, even though they were slave.

When she proceeded, she was dissatisfied by Eduard arrangements in their working time. But she realize right now, giving this privelege could increase the quality of work.

This people could perform properly their duties since they were treated humanely. Also, his decision to get some children slave was wrong for her.

When she asked for her brother explanation she was also enlightened.

He chose to hire them since he can develop their loyalty on him, even though his investment was large. He could ensure that the stability of his household was good.

"You don't have to worry brother, I will follow your arrangement. By the way, the grains was growing faster, base from my estimate we can harvest them within two weeks and the harvest was too much for us to consume.Do you plan to establish channel to trade the excess grains?"

Eduard thought for a while, his sister had a point. The harvest time was coming close, as much as possible he must have a channel to release it. Thus, having channel was more convenient since he can easily dispatch the goods, also the price will follow the market price.

"Well, I haven't. I think, I will look at it later. I also have to sell those materials from beast, so I will bring them together to the Naga City to trade."

Roxy came again from the kitchen, she was helding another glass of water towards Eduard, Estrella on the other hand blocked her path and take the glass of water and gulp it without a word.

"Thank you Roxy, your so thoughtful" Estrella said with a satisfied look after drinking the whole glass of water.

"Uhmm, Young Mistress, that water was supposed for Young Master, he requested it before" Roxy explained, she had an awkward smile towards Estrella.

Eduard interrupted the two girls, " that is fine Roxy, just give me another glass".
