Chapter thirteen

I woke up in the middle of the night, confused and disoriented, maybe it was because of how quiet everywhere was but I felt a little bit afraid and feverish. I felt a huge pain at the back of my head, I tried sitting up but the pain made me lie back. The darkness and the silence were as if monsters were in the dark waiting for me, as if I could see it. I touched the back of my head, the source of my pain and felt an unknown carving on it, the pain and fear from the unknown tattoo made me scream and with that I fainted.
When I woke up again it was morning, the sun ray shined through the slightly opened curtain, I turned my head around and almost screamed out loud when I saw Morningstar sitting on a chair beside by bed, his head twisted at a weird angle. I felt sorry for him as I knew that he must be uncomfortable. I tried sitting up with great pain and when I succeeded I tried calling his name but no sound came out as my voice was hoarse. All of a sudden I missed Thea.
I felt tears prick my eyes as I longed for her. She was always there during my darkest day and today Morningstar was taking care of me it felt Weird. I tried calling his name again but it turned into a series of cough and that did the job. He woke up, quickly coming to my side.
“You okay Eleven” He asked worriedly
I tried replying but it only came out low and incoherent. He moved to the side of the table and poured water into the glass and brought it to my lip. The water tasted like sawdust but it brought instant relief to me. I swallowed even single drop and I felt slightly normal again.
“Thank You”
“How are you feeling now” He asked, refilling the water and passed it to me.
“I feel fine apart from the slight headache”
“It's going to be gone once you drink this aspirin” He said handling me a tablet.
I took the tablet and swallowed it, my face squeezed horribly. I tried controlling my emotions as the headache reduced.
“How do you feel now”
“I feel okay. The headache is not longer severe” I said passing the glass to him.
“Good” He said with a smile. I noticed that he doesn't really say much but when he does it was usually satisfying.
“I don't understand what Happened last night and also the pain I felt on by neck.”
“Yeah, in due time you will know about it” He placed the glass on the vanity table and walked to the door before turning around.
“Take a rest because the fight just began” He said before walking out.
I just couldn't understand what he meant by the fight just began. I placed the thought at the back of my head and remembered that I needed to call Thea. I picked up my phone and dialed her number and listen to it ring alot of times before she picked it up.
“Hello honey, how are you” Her smooth voice sounded from the phone.
“ I'm good, I miss you” I said with a shaky voice.
“I miss you too. I tried calling you but your phone wasn't going through. So I called Morningstar and he assured me that you were safe”
“How is Chris and Neo. Owen”
“They are all fine, you've only be gone for a day.”
“I know but I still miss them” I mumured.
“I get you darling. You haven't really been out since you came to us. This is your first time going out without your family so you feel scared but you must always remember that we love you and a brave girl doesn't feel scared, she must be strong enough to face her fears.”
“i know Thea thank you”
“That's good Chris want to speak to you”
“Okay” I said then she passed the phone to Chris.
“Hello Eleven. How are you doing”
“ I'm doing well” I said with a smile upon hearing his caring voice.
“ I hope that rascal is treating you well”
“Absolutely well” I answered with a happy laugh, indeed he was treating me well.
“ That's good, That's good ”
“How is Neo and Owen” I asked
“They are both fine, Neo went out with his friend and little Owen is here with us”.
“ I'm not little anymore” I heard a scream on the background.
“You hear that, little Owen is no longer little” Chris said with a laugh.
“I miss you guys, can't wait to come back home”
“We miss you too, we can't wait to see tomorrow”
“Yes”
“ I really hope you aren't sick” Thea's concerned voice came through.
I wanted to tell them about the recent events, but I felt myself holding back as I didn't want them to worry.
“ I'm totally fine and healthy” I assured them with a smile.
“ Okay darling, know that we all love you”
“I love you guys too ”
“Bye, have a nice day”
“You too” I said before ending the call. I lied down on the bed, covering myself and felt a little sleepy. My mind repeated morningstar's words again and again till I fell asleep.
