The Spear

It surprised Rupert to see the sheath and spear in the picture Zev handed him. He also frowned. He tried to touch it but immediately removed his hand from the photo. Zev frowned when he saw Rupert's reaction.

"Looks like you know something, Doc Rupert," said Zev.

"Where did you get it again?" asked Doc Rupert.

"At the house of Crisostomo Salvantez." said Zev. "What do you know about it?"

"Well, I know nothing about this," said Rupert.

Zev stared at Rupert. Rupert stood up and took something from the books on the shelf. Zev watched him later as Rupert returned to his seat. He placed the thick old book on the table.

Rupert glanced at Zev. "Just an excuse." Rupert blew on the book as he opened it, and the dust flew on the table. "I have not opened this book for a long time."

"What book is that?" Zev asked.

"Ah, my father gave this to me. It's a diary of my great grandfather."

"Diary?"
