Luci’s POV:
When I left Gavin’s building, there was no one waiting for me outside. Even if there was, it’s not like I would have cared.
Even if I came across some drunk a**holes, it’s not like I couldn’t defend myself. My fighting skills may be lackluster when compared to others in my pack, but I could easily outrun or defend myself against some sus humans.
Humiliation itched at my skin with each step I took toward home.
Why did I get on top of him like that? Why did I even try to press my luck?
I mean, my mate just rejected me, and I couldn’t stop it from replaying on a loop.
He must have said those things out of pity. Just because I wanted him, didn’t mean he felt the same.
I had no right to be angry with him either. It’s not like he was Alex blowing up my phone with unsolicited d*ck pics, so why did Gavin stopping me sting so badly?
