Wenjay, a Chinese-American of mixed heritage, finds himself jobless and heartbroken. In a bid to stay in China, he enters a sham marriage with Mingyoo. Wenjay, previously a kindergarten teacher and now a writer of heartwarming yuri novels, has a knack for cooking, but he particularly loves the noodles Mingyoo makes. Mingyoo, however, is part of an organization investigating 'super brains'. When Wenjay stumbles upon a dark secret about Mingyoo's sister...
At three in the afternoon, the midday heat was gradually dissipating, and a breeze had picked up outside, rustling the leaves of the sycamore tree by the window.
Wenjay rolled up the blinds and pushed open the window. A refreshing breeze immediately filled the room, diluting the lingering medicinal scent of the hospital room.
"Feeling peckish yet?" Wenjay set up a small dining table, arranging the afternoon tea he'd bought. Freshly baked red bean scones, chilled raspberry muffins, and blueberry cheesecake, along with a large box of smoked salmon vegetable salad.
"Did you buy all this?" Mingyoo sniffed the sweet aroma of the cake, his appetite slightly revived. "Didn't Captain Liu feed you at lunch?"
