I frowned hearing this from Luke, as I didn't want to go back to see Theo at all.

Nevertheless, I replied, "Beta Luke, I will be there on the dot." Then I asked him, "Did you find out anything suspicious from the list of Peter's patients I gave you?"

"I was just about to tell you about this. I tracked down the patients on that list; two-thirds of them are receiving treatment for psychological disorders and have been recorded as missing people, some for days, some for months. But none of them remembered what happened when they returned, and some of them clearly showed signs of drug abuse. But our doctors can't identify what drugs they took, it could be a new drug. " Luke said on the phone.

"So do you think their disappearance is linked to Paul?" I asked.

"Hmm, it's not yet clear. Natasha claimed that she did not know anything about it. As for Paul, because Peter's visa to the human world was issued by his cronies, I'm convinced that he has something to do with it. He's now firmly locked up in jail, but he continues to be arrogant and uncooperative. He has said nothing except that he was framed and is passing the buck." Luke sounded exasperated.

Paul's behaviour was I had expected; I wasn't surprised. I wrapped up with Luke and felt a pang of anxiety at the thought of meeting Theo tomorrow.

These days I'd been so busy investigating the drug cases that I thought about nothing else, but now that I could relax again, I found my mind being filled with Theo's handsome appearance again, and I could hear his cold magnetic voice ringing in my ears.

"Goddess of the moon, I'm really incorrigible, how can I get over this? " I prayed to the moon outside the window.

I picked up the magic book Sophie had given me and started studying it, attempting to shift my attention from Theo to the book. I'd been reading the book quite regularly, and the more I read it, the more fascinated I became.

When I followed the incantations in the book to meditate, sometimes I could indeed enter different worlds. I could talk to the trees and understand the songs sung by the birds.

There was a mysterious world where a tree told me that in his past life he was a carpenter and had a happy family. A bird told me that in her past life she was separated from her beloved because her father did not approve of her proposed marriage, and she was so sad that she became a bird and built a nest in the yard of her boyfriend's house in order to see him every day.

It was a pity that I could only occasionally communicate with the mysterious world. Sometimes no matter how many times I read the incantation, I could still hear nothing.

The magic book mentioned that I should use some kind of a tool to make these spells fully work, and I thought the next time I saw Sophie, I would ask her if she could lend me the tools inside her Gran's case.

I arrived at Theo's office the next morning right on time. I sat down with the others for a short time, before Theo and Luke came in. I had purposely chosen a seat far away from Theo, but his breath still permeated into my nose, making my skin tingle.

I reached for the glass on the table and took several sips of water, trying to calm myself down.

Theo was sitting in front of us, wearing a well-fitted dark blue designer suit, and by just glancing at him I could feel my body immediately heat up. I hurriedly took a few more sips of water, and then focused my eyes on the glass front of me rather than look at him.

I suddenly felt a tap on my arm and I came to my senses; it was Warrior Tim sitting next to me, "Snap back out of it! The meeting is over."

Damn! I had completely zoned out. I looked around and everyone was getting up to leave.

Hurriedly I got up and headed for the door, but just as I reached the door, Theo's voice came after me, "Gamma Aiden, please wait, I have something to ask you."

I stood to attention, and Theo quickly came to me.

"Gamma Aiden, I heard that you were injured during the last night's mission, how are you feeling now?" he enquired, carefully examining my face.

He was standing right in front of me, and I could feel his warm breath on my face. He was a head taller than me, and I could just see his Adam's apple moving.

I started to blush, "It's not that bad, it'll be fine in a few days."

I wanted to get away right now.

"Is that so? Why, you've got so many bruises on your face, I heard you injured your shoulder too." Saying that, he moved a little closer to me.

I was by now drenched in sweat, and the familiar scent of his body made my heartbeat faster. I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to contain myself from hugging him and kissing him.

"Sorry, I need to visit the toilet." I suddenly thought of an excuse, regardless of his reaction, and I rushed out towards the toilet. Indeed, I had drunk a lot of water, and now I really couldn't hold it in.

As I ran to the toilet and was just about to push the door open, Theo's voice came from behind me again, "Aiden,"

I stopped in my tracks and almost cursed at him, what the hell are you calling me for again?

At noon, I stayed at the Palace with the other warriors and Gammas for a buffet lunch. We were just starting when we saw Theo and Princess Alaska and a few others come in. My heart sank, it seemed that Theo and Princess Alaska were so close that they had to be together even for lunch!

One of the young men accompanying Alaska took a plate of food and sat next to me.

He looked to be around twenty years old with striking looks. His skin was a warm and inviting shade of wheat, with a smooth and healthy complexion; his black eyes were deep and intense. He radiated a magnetic charm, making him impossible to ignore.

He smiled at me, showing a mouthful of immaculate white teeth. "Hello, my name is Adrian, I'm Alaska's brother. My elder sister stayed here for too long, so my father sent me over to check it out."

So this was Alaska's younger brother. I smiled back at him and replied politely, "I'm Gamma Aiden, nice to meet you!"

"You're King Theo's Gamma - are you kidding?" Adrian's tone was a little dismissive, and seeing some displeasure on my face, he hurriedly said, "Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, it's just that you look quite skinny and not like a typical Gamma. "
