Company

I flop on the grass in excitement. I look at the paper smiling so hard that my cheeks start to hurt. I am still in disbelief that I got my crush's phone number. I place the paper against my chest.

"Wow, I can't believe that just happened. '' I laugh a little.

I fold the piece of paper and put it behind my phone case so I wont lose it. I see my car pull up. My mom rolls down the window and honks.

"Get in! We have somewhere to be!"

I get up and put my backpack on my shoulder and walk to the car. I open the door and throw my backpack in the back seat.

"If you knew we had somewhere to be then you should have come earlier."

"I would have but I had to get you a new suit, smart ass!"She yelled.

"I don't know why you keep on getting me suits. I have a lot at home that looks nice."

"I don't like these old suits, my son should wear the finest suits especially for tonight!" She seemed happier than usual.

"Why? What's tonight?"I asked in curiosity.

"Well your dad and I are getting a new sponsorship for our company!" She started smiling like a little school girl. I liked my mom when she was happy she actually looked beautiful when she smiled. I wished she would smile more often or I wished she would be happy more often.

"Really?! I'm happy for you mom, congrats I knew your company would take off soon. But one question why do I need to go?"

"Well one day I hope you will take over the company some day, so I wanted the sponsors to see the future representative for our company."

"Oh okay" I wasn't too excited about that because I wanted to be a singer when I grew up, but if it makes her happy then I'm happy I guess.

"Also make sure to have your ears and tail out"

My eyes widened.

"Why?!"

"Because I said so."

I didn't want to argue with her because I knew I would ruin her mood. So I just sat there and stayed quiet for the rest of the ride home.
