Chapter 14: The Courage of the Humacorn
Location: Bridlewood
Everyone arrived at the forest, while Charlie was checking on his smartphone.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Hey, I got a text message from my sister, Jewel. She said, it's Solomon's birthday today.
HITCH TRAILBLAZER:
Who's Solomon?
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
He's my daughter's son, my son's nephew and my grandson.
SUNNY STARSCOUT:
So, you're his uncle, Charlie?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Yeah. He's five years old, and my birthday is tomorrow.
Princess Skystar looked surprised.
PRINCESS SKYSTAR:
Really? Your birthday is tomorrow?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
That's right. We used to have a big party on my birthday for me and Solomon. Jewel and my brother-in-law, Mitch are his parents, and now they live with their friends Cadenza, her husband Steve and their daughter, Mary. She is the same age as me. They're very nice people, but they're very familiar.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Well, I'm sure we'll see them again.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
All right, everyone. Let's stay focused on why we're here.
Charlie, his friends and family made it to town and saw all the unicorns playing together and being happy, while Starlight Glimmer was looking around.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
Wow, there wasn't a town and many unicorns since the last time I was here.
Charlie looked confused when all the unicorns were happily waving at him. Charlie whispered to Princess Luna.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN (Whispering):
Luna, why aren't these unicorns surprised to see me?
PRINCESS LUNA:
I think they haven't seen a humacorn before. Or they haven't heard about it.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Or maybe they must've forgotten about it after Sunny and her friends brought the magic back and united everypony.
Starlight Glimmer was frustrated.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER (Frustrated):
Could we just focus on finding Alphabittle and warn him about the Storm Queen is back, and find that amulet?!
All the unicorns looked shocked.
UNICORN #1:
Did that unicorn ghost said, the Storm Queen is back?!
UNICORN #2 (Screaming):
AAARRGGGHHH!!!
All the unicorns in Bridlewood started to run and panic. Starlight Glimmer tried to calm them down.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
Wait, I'm not a ghost! I mean I am, but I'm not here to scare you!
PRINCESS LUNA:
I'll handle this.
Princess Luna used her traditional royal Canterlot voice at the unicorns.
PRINCESS LUNA (Booming Voice):
SILENCE!!!!
All the unicorns stopped panicking and looked at Princess Luna.
PRINCESS LUNA (Normal Voice):
I am Luna, Princess of the Night. And yes. Starlight here speaks the truth. The Storm Queen is back. But there's no need to panic. We came here to protect you and your forest, but we need to consult with your leader. Where is Alphabittle?
ALPHABITTLE:
I'm right here.
Alphabittle walked up to Princess Luna.
ALPHABITTLE:
Now who made that booming noise?
Alphabittle looked surprised when he looked at Princess Luna.
ALPHABITTLE (Gasped):
I don't believe it! You're Luna. One of the Princesses of Ancient Equestria! I've heard that you entered everyponies' dreams and help them face their nightmares!
PRINCESS LUNA:
You knew about me?
ALPHABITTLE:
Of course. I learned everything about you. I mean you became Nightmare Moon, until the Guardians of Harmony restored you.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Yeah, but that was after my sister banished me to the moon, and I never knew I could meet my long-time fan.
ALPHABITTLE:
I've been your fan since I was a little colt. But did I hear somepony say, the Storm Queen is back?
Starlight Glimmer smiled nervously when Alphabittle looked at her.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
Sorry.
Princess Luna whispered to Alphabittle.
PRINCESS LUNA (Whispered):
Don't be afraid. She's just a spirit inside of the humacorn.
ALPHABITTLE:
Humacorn?
Alphabittle looked surprised when he saw Charlie and walked up to him.
ALPHABITTLE:
So, you're the legendary humacorn, Carvette Equestrian?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Actually, I'm his grandson, Charlie.
Charlie introduced Alphabittle to his dad, Tempest Shadow, Grubber and Princess Skystar.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
This is my dad, Malcolm. Who is just human and my grandfather's brother. And these two are from Ancient Equestria. Tempest Shadow, she's a unicorn with a broken horn and her sidekick, Grubber, he's is a hungry hedgehog for cakes and pies. And this is the Princess of Seaquestria, Skystar.
Princess Skystar waved at Alphabittle.
PRINCESS SKYSTAR:
Hi.
Alphabittle walked up to Princess Skystar.
ALPHABITTLE:
Ah, a hippogriff. So nice to meet you, Your Highness.
Alphabittle took Princess Skystar's claw and kiss it.
PRINCESS SKYSTAR (Giggled):
Thank you.
Sunny Starscout walked up to Alphabittle.
SUNNY STARSCOUT:
Alphabittle, I know you're going to think it's my fault for bringing the magic back and uniting everypony, but we need to tell you why the Storm Queen took our magic and separated us.
Alphabittle sighed.
ALPHABITTLE:
All right. Let's head to my diner.
Alphabittle turned to his fellow unicorns.
ALPHABITTLE:
It's okay, everypony. The Storm Queen isn't here.
The unicorns were relieved, while Charlie, his friends and family followed Alphabittle to his diner.
Area: Crystal Tea Room
Inside the diner, Charlie and the others sat at the table with Alphabittle having a drink, except Starlight Glimmer who's standing next to Charlie. Grubber took a sip and spat it out with disgust.
GRUBBER:
Urgh! What kind of drink is that?
Tempest Shadow took a look at Grubber's drink.
TEMPEST SHADOW:
It's water, Grubber.
GRUBBER:
Oh. I usually have chocolate milk.
Tempest Shadow sighed deeply, while Alphabittle was having a conversation with his new and old friends.
ALPHABITTLE:
So, the Storm Queen only took our magic and separated us because she hates friendship.
SUNNY STARSCOUT:
Yes.
ALPHABITTLE:
And Carvette Equestrian is your dad.
SUNNY STARSCOUT:
Right.
ALPHABITTLE:
And Charlie over here is your cousin and his dad is your uncle?
Alphabittle looked confused.
ALPHABITTLE:
I'm all confused here. You were an Earth pony before you became a Alicorn.
SUNNY STARSCOUT:
That's because my dad disguised himself as an Earth pony, so the Storm Queen wouldn't find him.
APLHABITTLE:
Okay, that might explain it. But I thought she was destroyed after you brought our magic back.
PRINCESS LUNA:
But it didn't. She's furious because she found out Sunny brought it back. Now the Storm Queen is willing to destroy everypony, including us.
Alphabittle looked a little worried.
ALPHABITTLE:
Well, there only one thing I need to do.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Yes?
ALPHABITTLE:
Something I should've done a long time ago.
Charlie looked happy.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Yes.
ALPHABITTLE:
With my magic.
Sunny Starscout looked excited.
SUNNY STARSCOUT (Excited):
Yes! Yes!
ALPHABITTLE:
I have to evacuate my people.
Charlie and his friends and family looked shocked.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN/SUNNY STARSCOUT (Unison):
WHAT?!
HITCH TRAILBLAZER:
Wait, you're not gonna fight back?
ALPHABITTLE:
I'm sorry. But she is so powerful. My parents used to tell me stories about the Storm Queen and I was so scared. Of course, they were only trying to protect me.
PRINCESS LUNA:
But you shouldn't be scared. Or didn't you realize they only protecting you because they want you to protect your people?
Alphabittle looked sad, while Princess Luna sighed.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Listen, when I was young, I was scared because my sister, Celestia was better than me. Then I became jealous and transformed into Nightmare Moon. My sister banished me to the moon for a thousand moons, until Twilight and her friends helped me. And I spent my life in a dream realm helping other ponies' face their fears because I don't want them to give up and become like I was before. Do you understand me, Alphabittle?
ALPHABITTLE:
I understand, Your Highness.
Princess Luna smiled, until Alphabittle looked serious at his new and old friends.
ALPHABITTLE:
But my mind is made up. I'm addressing every unicorn to evacuate Bridlewood, and I suggest you all do the same. The Storm Queen cannot be stopped.
Alphabittle turned to his fellow unicorns at the diner.
ALPHABITTLE:
Everypony, the Storm Queen knows we have our magic back. We must leave Bridlewood right now before she gets here.
The unicorns listened to Alphabittle and they were about to leave the diner. Princess Skystar looked scared.
PRINCESS SKYSTAR:
Charlie, do something!
Charlie looked a little nervous.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Well, I... I don't know what to do. I thought Luna's story might gave him courage to fight back.
Starlight Glimmer had an idea.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
Don't worry, Charlie. I got this. Follow me.
Charlie followed Starlight Glimmer as they walked up to Alphabittle and the unicorns, and stopped them from leaving.
ALPHABITTLE:
Please step aside. Our lives are at stake.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
I just wanted to say you're right. When the Storm Queen who was originally the Storm King came to Canterlot, Trixie and I escaped and hid in my village, until my friend Twilight stopped her. So, if you don't want to defend yourselves by fighting back, then I suggest you beat it!
Alphabittle and the unicorns looked confused.
ALPHABITTLE:
Beat... it?
Charlie was wondering what Starlight Glimmer was talking about.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Beat it?
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
Yeah. Beat it. You know, if they wanna stay alive, they better do what they can.
Charlie looked surprised when he realised what Starlight Glimmer meant.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Ohhh! Beat it!
ALPHABITTLE:
And what do you mean by Beat it?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN/STARLIGHT GLIMMER (Unison):
This!
Charlie and Starlight Glimmer used their magic to transform the diner into a musical scene and sang Beat It 2008 by Michael Jackson, Fergie and Will.i.am

Starlight Glimmer played the guitar in the middle of the song. After the song ended and the diner went back to normal, Alphabittle was still confused.
APLHABITTLE:
What's the point of that song?
Charlie and Starlight Glimmer sighed in disappointment. Charlie walked up the Alphabittle and the unicorns.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
My point is, if we don't do something, what's gonna happen to all the ponies in Equestria? Are we gonna run and hide until the end?
The unicorns looked worried.
UNICORN #3:
Well...
UNICORN #4:
No.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Then what are we going to do?
ALPHABITTLE:
Well, we could try to reform the Storm Queen by being friends with her, so, she'll let us keep our magic.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I'm afraid the magic of friendship is never going to work with creatures like the Storm Queen who is corrupted with power and never cares about anything else. But it did work with Luna and Starlight because they have good hearts, and the Guardians of Harmony helped them see that.
Princess Luna and Starlight Glimmer smiled, while Charlie continued his speech.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
The Storm Queen hates friendship and all she wants to do is take over Equestria, and use and destroy anyone and anything that stands in her way. In other words, she wants chaos and destruction. And you know why? Because we're mad.
UNICORN #5:
We... We are?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
You bet we are! I'm mad! You're mad! And I'm gonna stay mad until we bring the Storm Queen down! Right?
Alphabittle and the unicorns were happy with Charlie's encouragement.
ALPHABITTLE/UNICORNS (Unison):
Right!
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Are we best friends, or are we worst enemies?
ALPHABITTLE/UNICORNS (Unison):
Best friends!
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
That's right! The Storm Queen can take our home! She can take our land, but she'll never take our friendship and magic! If we use them to restore Ancient Equestria, save the Guardians of Harmony and everypony there, we can destroy the Storm Queen, end her reign of terror and the rest of harmony will spread again, and this time it will last forever!
UNICORN #6:
You said it!
UNICORN #7:
Well, I don't know what a humacorn looks like, but he's spoke like a true one!
ALPHABITTLE:
Charlie's right! We don't need to evacuate. We've been suffering from the Storm Queen's wrath for very long time. But not anymore! We need to defend ourselves and fight back! All hail the mighty humacorn, Charlie Equestrian and his friends and family!
Alphabittle and the unicorns cheered for Charlie and his friends and family who looked happy.
SUNNY STARSCOUT:
Good work, Charlie! I knew they'll listen to you.
MALCOLM EQUESTRIAN:
And your speech was very powerful.
PRINCESS LUNA:
And truthful.
IZZY MOONBOW:
I guess you're gonna have say that all over again to Queen Haven when we get to Zephyr Heights.
HITCH TRAILBLAZER:
And I bet Pipp and Zipp will love it.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Well, I know they will.
Charlie looked at his feet and realised he was floating again. Charlie turned to Starlight Glimmer.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
Starlight!
STARLIGHT GLIMMER:
Hey, I didn't do it this time!
Princess Luna looked surprised.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Charlie! Your wings!
Charlie looked at his Pegasus wings and it was flapping up and down, and they were glowing with rainbow light.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
What's happening?
PRINCESS LUNA:
Isn't it obvious? You have awakened the power of the Flight Harmony.
Charlie smiled.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
That means I can fly. I can fly!
Charlie flew around the diner with excitement and everyone looked surprised. Charlie landed on the floor and took a bow.
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
I've learned that from Peter Pan.
Hitch Trailblazer looked confused.
HITCH TRAILBLAZER:
Peter who?
CHARLIE CARVETTE EQUESTRIAN:
The boy who never grew up and fights pirates. My nephew likes him. I've seen the movie lots of time before he did.
Hitch Trailblazer smiled.
HITCH TRAILBLAZER:
Your world sounds weird, but exciting.
Grubber interrupted his friends.
GRUBBER:
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Stop! Wait a minute. What about Sunny's powers? Her dad is a humacorn, right?
PRINCESS LUNA:
Oh, yes.
Princess Luna turned to Sunny Starscout.
PRINCESS LUNA:
Sunny, when you became an alicorn, while uniting everypony and brought back the magic, you've awakened all of your powers of the humacorn. Just like your father. So, you don't have to be scared.
Sunny Starscout smiled at Princess Luna.
SUNNY STARSCOUT:
Oh, I've ready knew that, after I found out more about my dad, Luna, and I'm not scared. I'm happy. On the outside, I had the appearance of an Earth Pony, now an alicorn. But on the inside, I'm a humacorn.
Grubber spotted a bright light under the table.
GRUBBER:
Alphabittle. What's that light under the table?
ALPHABITTLE:
Oh, that bothers me and my customers. So, I used that table to cover it up. Sometimes I used it at night for emergencies.
