SEVENTEEN

I was rocking Markella as Lucille sang a lullaby. Lucy and her were holding the other two as they slowly slept.

I slowly put Markella into her cradle and the three of us snuck out of the room, then Lucy got a message on her phone and said,"One of them is leaving the country for fear you'll attack her."

Time to get to work.

I followed her car on Lucy's motorcycle then drifted in front of her car and back flipped off. It crashed on to her car and she stopped.

She just got out and started running away and I chased after her.

She was running to the airport but I did a cartwheel roundoff and two back handsprings then did a back barani flip way over her head and landed in front of her.

She stumbled and confessed but I said,"Oh I don't need just a confession from you, I also need you to send a message to all your comrades that I'm coming for them and will catch them down where ever they may hide, you got that?"

She nodded several times.

I slumped into my bed and let out a sigh of relief, catching bad guys was tedious, but fun.

I looked on my phone to play the first audio recording I had made of that cop at the construction site but it said,"Gotcha, ha, ha, ha!"

I dropped my jaw and checked the others.

Why was I so stupid?!

Of course they'll hack the phone!

Why didn't I just give the cops the evidence?!

I was furious at myself then dropped my face on my pillow and screamed then looked up and heard a song Rose and I sang together.

Rose...

Rose opened her door, with a tired expression on her face and asked,"Tommy? What are you doing here this late?"

"I need your help."

"Okay, come in."

I walked in and she asked,"Can I get you something?"

"Oh no, I can't drink anything this late, besides, I'm not hungry."I said.

"What can I help you with?"

"Is it possible to bring back something a hacker has erased or changed?"

"Yes, but it takes time."

"Great, can you restore these audio files?"

I played them to her and she said,"Well first I have to know what I'm looking for."

I didn't know how to tell her that I had been going around the city, risking my life and intimidating cops, but she said,"Tommy, I know you've been hiding something from me for months, but I wanted you to tell me at your own time, well that isn't going to happen because you'll tell me now...right?"

I nodded then said,"How do I say this? The people who kidnapped Mark and me, helped Mr Nelson kill Mark and poisoned Lucille are cops and I'm trying to bring them to justice."

She looked at me for a few seconds and I thought she was absorbing it till she dozed off and sat up again then asked,"I'm sorry, what did you say?"

I sighed and she laughed then said,"I was joking. But is that all? Of course I'll help you. So, what do the files say?"

I said,"They include each of the cops mentioning their names and confessing all their crimes, and I mean all of them."

She nodded then asked,"So what are their names?"

I showed them the names I had cancelled and she said,"Come by in a week if I don't call you earlier."

"Thanks Rose, you're the best."

I kissed her and left.

I had no intention of staying overnight because Lucy wasn't out of danger yet, even though she was a better fighter than me, two pairs of fists are better than one.

I went to work the next day after dropping Lucille off at home and playing with the triplets a little. Lucy had gotten me a new car and helped me get an early licence.

One year later...

The handover of Aqua bolt was a huge party with many high class people invited and of course my friends, family and girlfriend.

The manager who had been taking care of things till now called me forward to give a speech. It was scary without Mark to embarrass himself, cheering me on and a tear escaped my eyes.

No Tommy, stay strong!

I looked up and smiled then began,"Mark Lester was the most precious person to me and not only my brother, but my closest friend. He United everyone he knew and was the light of our lives. Aqua bolt meant everything to him and as such, to me and to keep his legacy alive, I am going to manage it to my best, thank you."

There was an applause as I was given the deed to sign.

I had to quit my job at the zoo since I had a new job, though I would have missed the animals and they would have missed me, I had to stay strong.

Also I had just by luck, gotten into Rose's college and we could spend more time together.
