The whole charade of us cursing as we gutted the toads went on for about half an hour.
By the time we had eliminated the toads, we had bruises that felt like burn marks all over us.
Most of our exposed skin was not spared; everyone now had some patches of red bruise marks on their forearms, necks, and even faces.
"Fuck! This pain is killing me," Bobby cursed out loud. He had a huge patch of red bruise marks on his neck.
"Try to wash it off," I said.
Immediately, I opened my water bottle and poured some water onto the patch of bruises on my forearm.
The cool water brought some relief to the burn, but it was short-lived; the burning sensation came back a short moment after the water stopped.
Now that I'd confirmed it was useless, I quickly said to the rest of the team members, "Conserve our water. It's not helping."
