"Are you serious right now?" Ace questioned me as he rolled his wheelchair closer to me.
I breathe out. "I'm dead serious, Ace, and I no longer have feelings for you." Ace nodded slightly in response to my statement. "I'm wondering if you're serious about Grandma Lucinda accepting the fact that we're free to be together. Has she agreed to give us her blessing?" Ace interrogated me.
What I'm saying now is completely different from what I expect Ace to say. I expected him to question me about why I no longer have feelings for him, but instead he's asking if I'm telling the truth about grandma Lucinda. "Ace, I'm not lying. Grandma Lucinda has finally accepted both of us, but I doubt it..."
Before I could finish my sentence, Ace approached me and grabbed my wrist, pulling me to sit on his lap.
I wasn't caught off guard this time because I'm used to his demeanor. "You don't appear surprised." He whispers in my ear.
