Chapter 29

After finishing up in the auditorium, he and I headed to his office back at the library. After our previous discussion, Tobit clearly became curious about my script and so he decided to mark it while I was sitting right on his lap. I felt like burying my face into a dark pit, but the reaction I got from him was entirely unexpected.

Tobit seemed very impressed and so impressed that he rewarded me and he rewarded me in ways that could never forget.

After he gave me my reward, he helped me get dressed. The desk was now a mess and papers were lying everywhere. Nothing new, but it seriously looked like his desk was close to collapsing in on itself, if he and I kept this up.

"Will you come over at my place again for tonight?" I asked him. I was finally done getting myself dressed and presentable once again.

He looked at me and then sighed clearly looking guilty, like he was about to say something that might disappoint me. "Eh...I'll see what I can do. There is something I urgently need to attend to later on, I don't know if I'll be able to make it..."

I frowned. "Is everything okay?" I hoped that it wasn't too serious. I also secretly hoped this something that urgently needed his attention, wasn't some person that discovered our secret and now wanted to blackmail or let him lose my job and let everyone know, Tobit was sleeping with his star student.

Maybe I was taking things out of proportion, but sometimes I couldn't help it. Tobit and I have been sleeping together for nearly one full month. Even people in my class started to notice how I always was the last one to leave the room whenever our sessions ended. Tobit was also being openly nice to me in class and he'd even ask me how my morning was infront of the entire room.

I did once tell him to stop doing that, but clearly Tobit didn't listen.

"Nothing to worry about, Bonnie." He assured me and then he kissed my forehead. "I'll try to come over tonight. I also need to mark the rest of these tests. I can't make any promises, but you know I'll come through for you, yea?"

"Yea." I nodded, staring at my hands, flustered. I then stood up from the desk and grabbed my backpack. "Hopefully I'll see you, Tobit."

I then turned around and walked to the door. But when I reached the door, I felt him grabbing my hand and turning me around. I looked up at him, seeing that he had me pinned to the door and then all he did next, was kissing my lips, giving me gentle and affectionate kiss.

It was so sensual and I was already used to the familiar feeling it gave me, in the pit of my stomach.

He then pulled back and told me that I was such a good girl to him and that he was really happy to have me in his life. I left his office with a giddy smile on my face and then I snuck out the library, making sure the librarian didn't see me walk out.

As soon as I did get outside, I found Matias standing outside and it looked like he was waiting for me.

I froze there and then as if I was caught red-handed, doing something I shouldn't have done. Maybe because I did do something and something about the way he was standing didn't look good to me at all. I even wondered for how long he was standing there.

But I had to act natural. There was nothing I had to worry about. I just walked out the library, so the only perfect and most logical excuse and explanation for me being here, around this hour of the day, would be that I used the library to study or to do research. There was no way Matias wouldn't believe me, right?

"Hey Matias," I curled my lips into a smile.

"What's going on between you and Asmodeus."

My face paled at his sudden question. A question I didn't expect him to ask me and I also didn't understand how he could ask me that. There couldn't possibly be something that gave it away and at the time I felt nervous. Even more nervous, because I had to come up with a good lie, one that would convince that nothing he thought about me were true.

"What do you mean?"

"Are you sleeping with him?"

I frowned and the first thing I did was get straight up defensive. For some reason I did feel a bit pissed off. "No!" It was a lie and I felt more like shit for denying it, but I had to end this quickly before this conversation went any further. "Did you just ask me that? I can't believe you!"

"Well, I've noticed how you've been around him a lot lately and how even you spend every afternoon in the library, where his office is at."

My mouth nearly dropped open. Matias had a point and I quickly thought of a comeback of my own. "Ever thought, maybe I was just trying to keep my grades up? I've been through a lot and last year has been hectic for me. Maybe I can't help it but ask for help whenever I get behind."

Matias stared at me and I noticed the look on his face changing. Almost as if he realised he was wrong, which he was not, but he thought that he was wrong and it was exactly the reaction I wanted to get out of him.

"Bonnie...I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that..." He apologized. He looked guilty and I felt guilty for making him feel guilty.

But I had to keep up the act. "I can't believe you'd think that about me Matias, out of all things."

"I'm an idiot...I know!"

I sighed and then I started walking away from. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Bonnie, wait!"

I didn't look back. I just kept walking and he also didn't follow me. I immediately called an Uber and once it finally took me home, I began to panic.
