Jae's Trick

"W-wait! How do you know for sure Nana's current position, huh?"

"Instinct of a future husband, Father-in-law!" While saying this, Kim Jae smiled. However, Kensuke's head was hit directly on the head

"Don't mess around, Jae! Nana is more suited to be your son, you idiot!" Kensuke snapped. He shuddered to hear Kim Jae's answer about the 'future husband'.

"You're not the one who determines your child's soul mate, Ken! But, Nana herself!" Kim Jae hissed.

Kensuke only exhaled roughly hearing all the ravings of the madman, who was in front of him.

Kim Jae suddenly stopped, sending Kensuke's body crashing into his burly body. Kensuke's body immediately fell backwards.

"What's wrong, huh?!" Kensuke shouted. He got up and cleaned his pants which were dirty from falling on the asphalt.

"Look north, Ken! I found it, didn't I? You're lucky for this, Ken. Remember! You owe me one wish!" Kim Jae said while pointing to the North side, where the figure of a teenage girl was walking unsteadily in this quiet night.

Kensuke immediately pushed Kim Jae aside.

"Nana-chan!" Kensuke screamed as he ran towards Nana and hit the child, causing Nana's body to fall backwards.

"Daddy?" Nana whispered. He sat on the paved ground. Did not understand the sudden arrival of his father.

Kensuke stood on both knees. He hugged his little daughter's body.

"Thank God, Nana-chan! Are you all right, son? I'm sorry papa, honey! Papa couldn't protect you!" Kensuke said while crying on his daughter's shoulder.

"Papa~!" Nana whispered back.

"Thank you, God! I'm safe, my daughter! Papa has been so worried since you disappeared earlier, Nana-chan!"

Nana smiled at her papa who sometimes acted childishly like this.

Kensuke pulled himself up. He examined Nana's whole body and touched her daughter's forehead. Nana's forehead was slightly warm. Maybe a fever.

"Wait! Who brought you earlier, Nana-chan? How dare someone kidnap my precious daughter. Papa swears he will teach the kidnapper a lesson if he finds it!" Kensuke hissed.

"What's wrong, Papa? What if I was kidnapped by someone else?"

"What?" said Kensuke, confused.

"I'm a grown man, Papa. And I feel like I can protect myself after this. Papa doesn't have to protect me at all costs or to hurt someone again after this."

While saying this, Nana forced a smile.

Kensuke's brow furrowed. He looked into Nana's eyes, asking for an explanation.

"I want to say a sentence like before, that I want to live independently. But, why do I feel I can't, Papa? I don't want to be separated from papa and my brothers yet." Nana raved with slurs that Kensuke didn't understand at all.

And Nana started sobbing like before.

Nana wiped her tears, harshly. She glanced sadly at her father.

"So if papa still thinks of Nana as a child, please don't keep anything from Nana, Papa!" Nana tried to smile even though the tears had betrayed her.

Kensuke nodded quickly and wiped the tears on his son's reddened cheeks. Maybe Nana's fever is getting worse.

"I promise to obey whatever papa orders, as long as papa doesn't keep anything from Nana, okay?" Nana's gaze was still dark. She looked at Kensuke with a glint in her eyes.

Kensuke grabbed Nana's head to rest on his chest. He rubbed the girl's back gently.

"Papa is not hiding anything from us, Nana-chan. So, believe in papa!" Kensuke whispered.

Hearing Kensuke's words, Nana cried harder in her father's chest.
