Rune woke up the next morning, his body mildly sore from the long night he had spent with Rienn. After scrunching up his eyes a bit to rid himself of the heavy feeling weighing them down, he looked around a bit to take in his surroundings. For a moment, he almost forgot where he was. The room was dim due to the curtains that closed off the windows. They were sheer but not enough to block out the light completely.
'It is surprising that I'm able to experience a normal daylight cycle at the bottom of the sea.' he thought. It was far from his first night spent in Nereid, but it was still a wonder to observe.
Rune would be lying if he said he did not think that a capital at the bottom of the sea would be perpetually dark. He wasn't even expecting the capital to be there in the first place.
'Though, it was kind of stupid of me to think like that. I mean, where else would an aquatic kingdom's capital be?'
