Meeting The Tigress' Parents

Henry sat at the comfortable couch and sweeps his gaze around the house every once in a while

*If I told Gabriella that her house is exactly the setting of a house I like; simple, calm, isolated with a garden and cool breeze, she will definitely think I'm being sarcastic, I'd rather not bring up the issue, besides I really look forward to meeting this tigress' parents. This environment is quite gentle for a tigeress.*🙄

**********Meanwhile Gabriella************

*I pray mom and dad are still home, they promised to skip work today so they can meet my coach* 🙏

She goes upstairs and knocks at her parent's room

"Mom?,Dad?" she called out but got no response,

*Is it possible that they've gone to work and forgot about our meeting?*🤔 This made Gabriella worry but as soon as she heard some noises downstairs she hurried down

He was seated quietly, resting his hand on his fist as he patiently waited for Gabriella to come downstairs with her parents. Soon he started hearing struggling sounds coming from the door, he stood up and went ahead to open the door, he saw an elderly man carrying a big brownish box which obstructed his sight as he was struggling to open the door, there was no space for the woman behind him to assist or so it seems. He helped the man carry the box relieving the man and shocking him at the same time, he quietly walks inside to give them space to come in, the man entered with his wife, not looking scared but surprised

The 2 of them were surprised as they had a clearer view of the stranger. From Henry's eyes expression we could say he looked a little bit surprised, but we can't tell since his mask covered half of his face

"..." Mr. Richard was short of words but as soon as his wife heard Gabriella's descending footsteps, she snapped out of her daze and pinched her husband back to his senses

" Thanks for your assistance young man, but please if you don't mind,I'd like to know who you are"😕 Mr. Richard said as he got the signal his wife gave him and Mrs. Richard did not stop studying the handsome figure before her

"Oh, I'm sorry for the bad manners, I'm Henry, Gabriella's "Coach to be", seeing the resemblance I guess you're her parents, it's nice to meet you"🙁

"Oh, dear boy, why stress yourself with the load, you should let him have it"☺️ Mrs. Richard said with a welcoming and soft voice, meaning he could have left it for Mr. Richard

"Don't worry ma'am, just tell me where to put it down" Henry said with a calm voice

"Over there is enough" Mr. Richard said as he pointed to a table not so far away and Henry walks up to the table and drops the big box

"Thanks a bunch lad, sorry for the trouble, this man here is getting old now, used to be alot stronger"😅 Mr Richard tessed referring to himself

"No need to thank me sir" Henry replied

"You're too humble, how about we take a seat"🙂 Mrs. Richard suggested and as soon as they were about to go to the couch Gabriella came downstairs

Gabriella, earlier went back again to adjust her looks and finally came downstairs and ran towards her parents

"Mom, Dad, what happened? have you formally met my coach?"😟 Gabriella asked curious as to why they were all standing

"Yes dear, as a matter of fact, he helped us out carrying that heavy box there, what a gentleman he is"🤭 Angela said, smiling at Henry's direction

"We were about to take our seats before you came, why don't we proceed with the seating?" Elvis suggested as he led the way to the couch and they all followed behind and settled down, Henry sits at his previous position, but this time, he sits properly

"So...Henry, is it?"🤨 Elvis asks to confirm his name

"Yes sir" Henry answers

"I have been wondering, why did you take up the offer my daughter gave"🤔 Elvis asks

"I was owing her a favor, and as it was, that was the only thing I could do for her to let me go, I had no option".

"So you're saying that the whole reason you're doing this is because you owe her and had no other choice? So how do I trust you'll give her the best services and coaching"😒 Elvis queries like an investigator trying to get the truth out of the suspect

"Rest assured sir, I'll definitely keep my promise, I don't do anything half-heartedly, besides If I don't teach her well it'll affect my reputation "

"In what way do you mean?"😕 Angela asked

Their mood and tone changes as it affected the pressure in the room, everyone was now serious, the previously teasing parents are gone now to deal with a more serious issue, all these pressure from their questions but Henry doesn't seem fazed and answers them calmly

*As expected, they care for her, so they won't easily let go* Henry thought before answering the next question

"I already made an arrangement with her formal coach earlier today, and we agreed to hold a "one on one" tournament, Gabriella against his best student in next two weeks, the looser has to quit being a coach and that's the reason I won't hold anything back when teaching her"

"So you are that confident in your teaching huh?" Angela murmured

"Are you a professional coach? show us proof and if you are, I've never heard of a coach who can't play, do you mind explaining that to us? how am I sure my daughter's safety will be guaranteed? what if you do anything illegal to her, how do you think we should react?"🧐 Elvis bombered questions at Henry like an interviewer who has a beef with the interviewed and never wants him to get the job

"Easy there sweetheart, take it easy with the young man"😥 Angela said

~sigh~😓 Henry heaves a sigh as he looked at Gabriella who sat quietly on her couch 🥺, Gabriella knew she shouldn't intervene, cause once her parents are not satisfied with the answer he gives them or she intervenes her hope of ever having a coach will be shattered😑, so she responded Henry's look with rolling her eyes and avoiding Henry's🙄. Henry noticed how helpless the girl was at the moment, although he had answers to all these questions, he was amazed at the helplessness of the tigeress against her parents, she was more or less a tiger cub before the fierceness of her Parents, he smiles before answering the questions😏

"First of all, I'm a professional coach and here's a proof" He brings out his coaching ID and hands it over to Gabriella's parents who examines it and confirm it's originality before returning it to him

"Secondly, I can't play because of my health issue, which I think would be embarrassing to bring up here" He said and Gabriella's parents nodded in acceptance and as a 'go ahead' sign

"I cannot harm your daughter or engage in any form of immoral act with her, I have trained professionals and there's no way I will harm your daughter, if you still have doubts I can give you my card and you can monitor and track me whenever you fill insecure about your daughter, if I'm caught as guilty then your judgement can be brutal"

He said as he hands them a personal card each for the two of them, knowing that what he did was not going to be enough to win their trust if it's even possible to win he backed up himself

" I have proof too" Henry brought out his phone and showed Gabriella's parents a picture and the eager Gabriella went to her parents to see what the picture on the phone was after seeing the wow expression on her parent's face

"..."😲 Elvis

"..."🤯 Angela were both speechless

"You...you...are you really Shela Mike's Coach?" Angela stammers in surprise

"Yes I am" Henry replies

"Is this an edit? how are you the best female basketball player's coach and yet you look so ordinary"🤔🤨

"I hate attention from fans, so when I noticed that her fame is robbing off on me, I cut all ties with her, besides I'm not so ordinary, I just appear to be simple"

"Well I think I'll have to end it here, I'll trust you for now, not because of your fame but because you've answered quit well and calmly, i doubt a liar cam be so calm in answering questions like that, that doesn't mean I'm not watching you, my eyes are on you" Elvis said👍

"Thank you, for at least giving me a chance to prove myself" Henry replied🙇

"Please don't involve our daughter in any of your social media lifestyle ok?" Angela added

"Ok ma'am" Henry replied

"Times l to go, sorry if we kept you waiting for long, besides is Gabriella starting her training today?" Elvis asked

"No, she'll start off tommorow, I'll come pick her up too" Henry replied

"Ok then, Gabriella do you mind seeing your coach off?"

"No mom" She finally said after giving back Henry's phone to him which she has been gazing through, looking at her Idol and coach to be

"Bye Ma and sir" Henry said as he too his leave
