Chapter Nineteen: Devious Nick

Nick stood alone in the bar for almost ten minutes before he finally realized Jonah and Mazakin weren’t coming back. Part of him was a little irritated that no one said anything but he quickly shoved it off and went to sit at the bar. Nick quickly gathered that whoever that guy was that Mazakin stormed off to talk to was probably a demon. Which meant he probably knew about her and Jonah. Nick sat at the bar thinking, this could be really problematic for his friend and tried to come up with solutions.

“Hey Nick, back so soon? What can I get you?” Joel asked, wiping down a glass in his hand. Suddenly something clicked inside Nick’s head and a wide, devious smile spread across his face.

“I’ll take the usual, Joel, thank you. Hey I saw you talking to that guy earlier….” Nick stated, letting his voice trail off as to better gage Joel’s reaction. Joel’s face turned red and a sly smile spread across his face.
