Nine Elements Divine Physique

Lin Fei was floating in a pitch-black void. But unlike what he was familiar with, this one was overcome by a darkness so deep that it threatened to seep into him. Poison him. Taint his essence.

His eyes shot open, but he could see nothing. He was distinctly aware of his body, as if separated by a numb sort of feeling. But no matter how hard he tried to reach it, he just couldn't get hold of it.

With nothing left to do, he busied himself with just floating about.

When nothing happened for a very long time, Lin Fei could only close his 'eyes' and try to meditate. Time passed, and he wandered lonely in this void.

And then he felt it. A gaze. Someone watching over him. Judging him. Cold. Emotionless. It burned at his senses.

His eyes shot open and his heart stopped beating. He saw IT. He saw a gigantic eye looking over him. Its pupil was a crack of abyss, and before it he felt inconsequential. Meaningless. A dust in the mortal plane before the grace of Heavens.

Lin Fei felt afraid, but the fear didn't last long, as a towering presence shielded him from the cold of this abyss. It burned at the space around him, and for the first time he saw the eye move.

"SCRAM!"

And the world broke.

Like a mirror that impacted the ground, the darkness around him fractured into countless fragments, and he welcomed the hot rays of light.

Lin Fei shot up, breathing hard. He was still in his room, and there was light streaming from the window. He rubbed his eyes and felt a cold chill escape his body.

"What the heck was that?"

Lin Xinyue manifested before her son with a solemn expression etched on her face. "That was a Void Beast. A Void Dragon, to be exact. It must've sensed the formation of your physique and tried to pull you into its Soulscape."

"Wait, this mountain really is made up of a Void Beast?" He questioned.

His mother smiled at him. "Yes, but of only a single piece of its flesh. The rest of the body is contracted into the Void Domain surrounding this mountain."

"Wow." Lin Fei exclaimed in admiration.

"Anyway, I scared it off, so it's unlikely to mess with you ever again."

Hearing her words, Lin Fei shook his head with a smile. Void Beasts. Although he had never seen a Dragon type in his entire life, he had seen many others. Some whose body spanned entire star fields. And what became of them when they came across his mother? Meat skewers.

Annihilated with a single slash of her sword. That was the power his mother wielded.

"Enough about that; check the results of your cultivation."

Being reminded of his late-night act, Lin Fei tried to quickly check over his gains. But before he could fall into meditation, he caught a blinking dot in his field of vision.

Focusing on it, the dot expanded into a new window.

"Wow!" Lin Fei looked at the list of notifications and couldn't help letting out an amazed shout. "It would seem our efforts paid off. The physique refining was successful."

He had achieved much in that one night. He decided to look over his stat sheet.

"Hmm." Lin Xinyue also peered at the manifested stat sheet. Listed under where the changes were, the most prominent of which was the new tab named Authorities.

Usually a cultivator at the Mortal Foundation Realm would only rarely hold any understanding of the Essence or Elements. But thanks to him refining his bones using Earthly Titan Body Art and Earth Essence Stones, his understanding had flourished.

"Only at the Divine Rank?" Lin Xinyue frowned and then sighed. "Even with my help, it would seem this is the best we can do under the current circumstances."

Lin Fei smiled. "Don't worry, mother. This much is enough."

Having a divine rank physique might not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but here in this sect it would have an overarching impact.

"Now that you've over 3000 SP, I think you should look over that Bloodline section."

At his mother's prompting, Lin Fei opened the tab and was astonished to see a vast number of bloodlines.

Usually the rank of a Bloodline denoted one's potential. For example, those with dormant bloodlines could easily reach the Foundation Establishment Realm. Here a dormant bloodline was sold at 300 SP.

Above the Dormant rank were Awakened Bloodlines, and they had a price of 1000 SP, while even above that, Lesser Bloodlines were sold at a whopping 5000 SP.

"Bloodline is different than a physique." His mother spoke. "Although a person can have more than one, it's never good to mix bloodlines. So you need to be careful with what you choose."

Lin Fei frowned and scrolled down past the many available Bloodlines and into those that were way out of his price range.

"Can't I just buy one at some point later?"

"You can." Lin Xinyue answered. "But, you're not going to want to after seeing this..."

As she pointed at one particular Bloodline on the screen, Lin Fei squinted to read the small letters. "Can be upgraded..."

"Wait!" He leaned back as he realized the implications. "A Bloodline that can be upgraded without the hassle for procuring those rare and precious items." He read the name of the Bloodline. "Voidborn Oblivion Bloodline."

Judging by the name it surely sounded powerful. Lin Fei felt conflicted over his choice and just as he was about to speak, his mother cut in.

"Before you say anything, this isn't the only Bloodline that can be upgraded. I saw a few others too."

A thought struck to Lin Fei and he desired for the Bloodlines to appear categorized. In an instant all of the Bloodlines with the potential to upgrade rose to the top. Surprisingly there weren't many.

"I'm thinking about this."

Lin Xinyue poked her finger at one in particular, and Lin Fei leaned forward.

"That's...!"
