My diary system in Marvel

After transmigrating into the Marvel universe, Luke had awaken the Diary Entry System. As long as whoever that holds the diary believes and trusts in what was written, then Luke would be rewarded by his system. The stronger the trust value, the better the rewards. Editor note: Hello guys! I am not the author, nor am I a translator of this fanfic. I am simply a normal guy heavily editing an MTL of the raw "People are writing diaries in Marvel, and the Avengers are all confused". I saw some others on this app who are attempting to edit the chapters, such as "Elephas" or "BlackGoku222" but I find their edits rather lackluster. And since I am interested in reading this further, I thought i'd do the rest of us a favor of putting out my edited version of the MTL. Please note that the characters will be slightly AU. If you think that my edited version is different from the original or other versions, you would be right as I included my own elements and removed some extra information in order to try to make the story as congruent as possible. Honestly guys, the MTL is so confusing. Lastly, I will TRY my best to make this story as readable as humanely possible, but no promises for a 5-star edit as my English language was only a B3. And thanks for taking the time to read this! (Gib me cookies/stones please) (Cover pic by Nariva Amynia on DevianArt. This is not an original work, I own absolutely nothing except my own deviations to the original fanfiction!)

C72 - Dear Diary, there is a Civil War.

E/d note: C17 of this series only briefly mentioned about the Sokovia Accords and the Civil War. This time, we will be diving more into the events of CA:CW.

~ With Wanda ~

[This kidnapping wasn't the only one that shaped Tony to the hero that he was at the end. There was another major incident that occurred, and this had an even more severe consequence for the Avengers. The Civil War. And how ironic it was for Tony that the spark that began this Civil War was because of a mission in Sokovia.]

'Sokovia?' Wanda thought, her curiosity piqued at the mention of her home country.

[Carrying out missions as an Avenger is no simple task. In our missions, there was always the possibility of having civilian casualties and collateral damages. The mission in Sokovia was no different. This was also the mission that had given birth to the Sokovia Accords.

However, what was also different about the outcome was that somehow, one of the family members of a civilian casualty in that mission had managed to secure a private 'coincidence' with Tony. This person then proceeded to spin a tale of blame onto Tony, causing him to develop an overwhelming sense of guilt within himself.

And ultimately, this had caused him to agree to the Sokovia Accords. This was the second event that had caused him to think about accountability. He would go on to be a firm supporter of the accords, believing that the Avengers needed to be under supervision and be held accountable for their actions.]

~ With Fury ~

'This is what I've been waiting for.' For the longest time, Fury had long been waiting for Luke to speak on one of the major events that Luke had briefly talked about in his earlier diary entries. The Civil War was high on his list as this was the event that had brought his attention to the supposed 'higher authority'.

[However, Steve, a soldier who had been used to following orders, knew the deeper meaning and intentions of the accords. He believed that the Avengers should not sign the accords because it would defeat the purpose of being an Avenger.

By signing the accords, we would forfeit our freedom and would eventually become a weapon for the government, only to be used against their enemies. Like this, two sides began to form within the Avengers, one side for the accords, and the other against it. I was with Steve on this, as I really do not do well with authorities.

In the end, for those who stood against the accords, we were all labelled as fugitives against the United States. At this point, the Avengers began de-stabilizing as a team. Thor was not on Earth at the time, while I had no idea where Fury was during all this, and I never got the chance to ask him since I never saw him again.

As Avengers, together, we had overcome every challenge in our way and had come out victors in multiple battles. But because we stood divided, we paid the ultimate price when we lost the fight that led to half of all lives in the entire universe just vanished.]

'Motherfucker. . .' Fury was alarmed. He knew of the two events of the Civil War and the Blip. However, he never thought that there was a causal relationship between the two. Seeing that the falling out of the Avengers would have severe consequences, he knew that he had to do something to prevent that event from ever coming to pass.

Fury groaned when the things that needed his immediate attention kept growing bigger. First, he had found out that SHIELD was infested with HYDRA, and now, he needed to begin making plans to prevent the Sokovia Accords from ever being formed. Additionally, he couldn't even use SHIELD resources yet until he had solved the situation with HYDRA.

As he thought more about Luke's words in the diary, Fury began to understand more about the Sokovia accords. 'It is, as Luke had pointed out, very likely a scheme by someone or possibly even an organization or the government. By using the excuse of public safety, they would have the Avengers at their beck and call, ready to do their bidding.

Moreover, it also seems that the Avengers had already saved the world more than once by that point, earning the support of the common people all over the world. In this case, by controlling the Avengers, whoever it was that had come up with the accords would also indirectly be able to control the people.'

The more Fury thought, the angrier he was starting to get. He had created the Avengers as a means to protect the world, and yet there were people with higher authority who had wanted to use them for selfish reasons. Even Fury himself would not have intervened much with the operations of the Avengers, as he believed that SHIELD and the Avengers should remain as separate entities.

Fury's musing stopped when a sudden realization had come to him, 'Wait, Luke said he never saw me again. And I know myself, I wouldn't let anyone mess up my initiative. So, what the fuck happened to me. . .'

[Actually, in all honesty, initially when the Civil War occurred, it was not a major problem for the Avengers. We still thought of each other as family, just with differing opinions. No one was willing to go with lethal intent, not even using all our individual might in any of our short skirmishes against one another.

However, this all changed when Tony learned of a dark truth. Through the schemes of someone, the truth behind the death of his parents were revealed. It was not a car accident that had killed them. But rather, it was Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier.

Steve was not the only one of his time who had survived. But unlike Steve, Bucky had been captured and was subjected to severe brainwashing, turning him into a killing machine that only followed orders.

And when Tony had confronted Steve if he had known about Bucky killing his parents, Tony was hurt by the answer he had received. The Sokovia accords was not the final straw that broke the Avengers. Even though we had differing opinions, we would still trust each other with our lives in a fight.

No, what truly broke the Avengers was Steve's betrayal in Tony's trust.]

- End of Chapter 72 -

Next time in C76 - Fury's worries for the future, Phil knows the secret!

'Someone has been able to cover up this assassination of a high-profile individual. Judging by the time period during his death, there's only a few people who would be able to cover up a conspiracy this deep.' Fury pondered as he began feeling a sense of unease growing within him.

[Author's Note]

E/d note: C72 was written using MTL59! I just read through MTL60, and it may take me awhile to write C73 because MTL60 talks about Luke knowing that Captain America is back. But the thing is, Natasha told him about the return of Steve in MTL57.

It was a passing remark by Natasha, but as you guys know, I had my Natasha be sent away during this period. Because it made NO SENSE to me for Natasha to just reveal the Captain to Luke just like that…
