If her mother was alive things would have been pretty different.

Hendrick prayed to God to help his wife in that situation, he knew he had been a sinner but he just wanted his wish fulfilled he wanted the babies to be fine plus he wanted his wife okay

The hours dragged by with a little change in Dannie's condition, one of the babies had turned.

Her eyes closed, she lay there looking lifeless unmoving in the center of the bed her legs hung up. The heavy silence in the room was broken only by a shallow breath she took and he just watched her, he watched her chest rise and fall, wishing her heart would keep beating and the babies would turn and everything would be fine.
