Chapter 27 Dancing With Him

"I'm done for, how could I pay him back now?" Nicole said with a sad face.

"Pay what back?" Jenna looked at her in confusion.

Nicole shrugged and said, "It's nothing. I mean, it cost a lot of money for my husband to rent this, I don't know how we will pay his credit card bill."

"You mean your whole outfit was rented?"

"Of course. If my husband could afford to buy this, why would I work so hard every day?" Nicole averted her gaze and said with a dry smile.

"You have a point. I have never seen you wear any branded clothes either." Jenna nodded in agreement.

"Enough about that, Mr. Hayden is about to speak." Nicole saw Darwin walk up to the stage with the microphone so she gently nudged Jenna with her elbow.

Jenna immediately straightened her back and shut up.

On the stage, Darwin looked around the whole venue with his deep-set eyes. For some reason, Nicole felt that Darwin stared at her for just a moment longer.
