Chapter One Hundred and Fifty Nine

Victor POV

I approached my long time crush Claire with hope of finally having the chance to talk to her and probably be friends with her but I got the shock of my life. I still can't believe that Sarah Croft intentionally approached me to sell my shares to her, I thought she genuinely want the shares not knowing she is working for George. I don't believe one bit of the story that Claire told me cause if George was engaged to her before the whole family will be aware of it that is the family tradition and it must be observed despite the family fued.

I just allow her to continue with her story cause I don't want to be rude. I already heard about George new assistant since it's a big news to the family after what happened between George and his last assistant but I never get around to know more about her.I don't know that Sarah Croft and George assistant are the same person. Since I sold my shares, I come to this town away from my father so that I can take decisions on my own without any hindrance. But it seems that is a far fetch dream cause the moment my father learnt of what I did, I know he is now turning the whole city upside down looking for me.

From what I observed from what Claire was telling me earlier, is that she want me to have my revenge but not on George but on Sarah his girlfriend so that she can have George all to her self. I may have been fooled by George and Sarah but that doesn't mean that I am a total fool, I know the game Claire is aiming to play but I don't think I want to play that game as well. I don't have any intention of going for revenge on George nor Sarah, all I want to do is to start afresh with the money I have with me and come back to my father when I have made name for myself.

First thing I have to do is to leave this place cause it's obvious that Claire will expose my whereabout if I don't comply with her. I also need to call my assistant to know the status of the company and my father.I dialed his number which he picked on the first ring, Boss is that you? He asked immediately he picked the call. Yeah that's me and am sorry for keeping you hanging without telling you where I went to, I apologized to my assistant cause I know he is the one that is taking the heat from my father.

No problem boss but when are you coming back? cause your father have been on my neck, he asked. I really pity the poor guy I can imagine what he is going through now. Am not coming back any time soon and I will like for you to resign don't fret about getting another job cause I have already arrange that for you okay, I told him. Okay boss thank you for making sure that am not left stranded, he thanked me. Sure I will send details to you on what to do, I informed him and ended the call.
