Hearing Gu Xu speak with such firm, pledge-filled conviction, Mother Chen slowly lifted her head. There was a look of surprise in her eyes, but she quickly feigned ignorance.
Gu Xu met Mother Chen's gaze, and without uttering a word, he slightly furrowed his brows. His expression seemed to carry a hint of disappointed towards Mother Chen. He then clenched his fist, before releasing it.
"I, I don't know what you are talking about," Mother Chen awkwardly avoided his gaze and looked at the tiled floor in front of her, "What do you mean by the falsified report? The fact that the child had a high fever and passed out was true. You've seen it yourself."
Gu Xu's handsome brows furrowed even tighter, making them look like little hills.
Hearing the disappointed sigh from his nostrils, Mother Chen's heart tightened more and she clutched the corner of her clothing, afraid to make a sound.
Gu Xu sighed several times before finally speaking.
