My Adversary

Sumi is laying on her bed tossing and turning "no please no, no I'm not leaving you... MOM!!" Sumi wakes up with a jolt

'It's been quite a while since the day mom died, 12 years...' she thought, ' but the events of that night still haunt me in my dreams

"Tch, dark and stormy night how cliche" she said clenching her fists

Sumi got of the bed and walked to the mirror by the wall "Never again will I let myself be pushed around, Never Again!" She punched the dresser table leaving a dent in the wood " I'll never be weak" she finally declared.

Sumi turned around to view her bedroom in her new home, literally everything, from the finest detail screamed expensive. Marble floors, silk curtains, cotton bedsheets on a mahogany wood bed. The mirror was lined with gold, every knob on the doors, cupboards, Gold even the shower was gold.

" Damn what a useless way to waste money, rich people are crazy*eye roll*"

"Sumi? Sumi are you up dear?"

"Oh umm, yeah, yeah I'm fine I'm just... Freshening up"

"Ah okay, well come down soon, so I can introduce you to the rest of the family" Sumi's father CEO Kawasaki stated

"Rest of the family that I know nothing about" sumi mumbled "I could bet you there's another cliche coming, let me guess wicked stepmother I'm sure" she mocked walking into the bathroom

"Place is like a damn beauty spa... So cliche"

A while later, a maid brought her to the living room where the entire family sat down looking like the cover of a kdrama

' Bro so you guys drink cliche like steroids or something' Sumi thought with a disgusted look on her face ' All in fancy suits, sitting in a fancy house looking expensive, nowhere near the shit hole i grew up in...' she chuckled emotionlessly

*Flash back*

"Little bitch! You bit my hand" the tall man in a white lab coat said " you should learn some manners you know, your whole life is at the tip of my fingers" *young sumi whimpers* "now stay still little rat, or this will hurt alot more than it should" he said with a sinister smile and murderous intent in his eyes

"Suuuuumi~ SUMI!!"

" Huh? What yes I'm fine, I- umm..."

"Ah yes, Mimi, Kenji,takashi,meet your half sister, Sumi"

The trio gave Sumi a disgusted look making Sumi already know she wasn't welcome here

"Hana my darling this is your stepdaughter"

Hana is Mr Kawasaki's wife he married after he abandoned Sumi's mother Hina

' How ironic your new wife's name sounds so similar to mom's, Lady Han, you're only a substitute' Sumi thought as she analyses every person in the room

"Sumi will be staying with us from now on, Sumi as from Monday you'll join the others at the company, I'll assign a bodyguard for you as well as a section of the company where you will manage"

Daggers where all shot at Sumi after those words left his mouth

" In the mean time make yourself at home, try and get used to the surrounding area, if I can I would like to know where you've been all these years, I haven't seen you since you were only a year old, 18 years Sumi where have you been"

Sumi chuckled coldly staring at her feet, before lifting her head up to her supposed family

'This is going to be a long, interesting stay here' she thought giving them all a cold and blank stare
