Dragon's Bond

Lily slowly opened her eyes. She could hear the sound of the relentless force of the ocean's waves slamming against the soft grains of sand, constantly reshaping the shoreline as they rolled in and out. However, she stood in complete darkness, where she couldn't see anything.

"Lily!" The cry of her name filled with desperation and longing.

"Papa?" she called out, but there was no response. Her nostrils can still smell the lingering smell of blood and burned bodies. As she stood on the dark surface, she felt the coldness of the ground on her bare feet.

"Mama... " she whispered, her voice trembling as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Papa..."

This day was supposed to be the happiest day of her entire life, but it turned out to be the most traumatic.

The memories she held so dear of that particular moment shared with her parents, as well as the playful smiles of her sweet playmate and the friendly villagers; all vanished in the blink of an eye. It was as if they had never existed, leaving her alone to face the world's harshness at such a tender age.

"Lily, don't cry." The voice spoke softly, the same voice she heard when she found the dragon egg. "Don't cry. You have your dragon with you." Despite the tears streaming down her face, her heart felt lighter at the sound of that voice; her little hand wiped her tears, removing dirt from her face caused by ashes.

Lily's voice was barely audible as she struggled to form coherent sentences. Her body and mind were still reeling from the shock of the situation. She managed to muster the courage to speak up. "Hello?" There was a hint of desperation in her voice. "Can you please help me find my mama and papa?"

"Of course, Lily." It was the same gentle voice again, reassuring her.

"T-thank you." The tears in her eyes show the overwhelming emotions that had taken over her. As her fingers ran through the tangles, she returned to a simpler time when her mother would braid her hair for her. She could almost feel the gentle tug of her mother's fingers as she worked the strands into a neat plait and the comforting weight of the braid against her back as she went about her day. The memories brought her a sense of calm, and she knew that no matter what was going on around her, she would always have those moments to hold onto.

"I understand how sad you must be feeling right now, Lily. But please remember that everything is going to be alright."

In the distance, a mesmerizing light catches her eye, illuminating the surroundings with a kaleidoscope of colors. "Now come, Lily. Don't be afraid."

The source of this stunning radiance is a dragon egg, emanating a soft yet vibrant glow that seems to dance and shimmer in the air. Its brilliance is a testament to the magic and wonder within the egg.

She was hesitant to approach it.

"It's alright."

A brilliant white light that came from the dragon egg materialized before her eyes. Slowly, the light began to take shape, forming the stunning silhouette of a woman. Her figure was graceful, and her features were delicate as if crafted by the finest artists. The sight was truly magical and left Lily speechless.

Her glowing hands cradled the dragon egg with the utmost care. With a sense of intrigue, she presented the egg to Lily.

"To bond with its rider, the dragon egg must be kissed," she said, emphasizing the importance of the ritual. "The kiss is not just a simple touch of the lips on the egg's surface. It is a gesture of love, trust, and commitment that must come from the heart. The rider must be fully devoted to the dragon, and the dragon must trust and accept the rider as its own. Only then will the bond be formed, and the dragon will hatch and follow its rider to the ends of the earth."

Lily, a young girl with a kind and innocent heart, found herself struggling to comprehend the words spoken by a woman. Despite her confusion, she remained steadfast in her belief in the love and trust that her parents had instilled in her. Her mind was filled with the countless times her parents had shown her unwavering support and affection.

"I miss my mama and papa," she said, tears streaming down her face as she looked up at the woman.

"I know, Lily," the woman said with a tinge of sadness, aware of what had happened to Lily's parents.

She reminisced about the nights spent snuggled up in her mother's arms, listening to her father's stories when he visited them. These memories brought her a sense of comfort and reassurance that no amount of confusion could shake.

Her heart ached as she held the dragon egg in her hands. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. As warm tears began to trickle down her cheeks, she leaned in and placed a tender kiss on the egg's surface.

The glow emanating from the egg brightened as her tears made contact, creating a pulsing, vibrant aura.

Lily's body was covered in a brilliant, blinding light as her eyelids grew heavy with a sense of weight. The mysterious woman couldn't help but smile with pride and excitement, knowing the immense power that the heir of the Legendary egg could possess.

As she watched, the heir began to rise into the air, their form gradually becoming a majestic beast. The light surrounding them intensified until it was almost too much to look at, and the woman felt a rush of awe and reverence at the sight before her. She couldn't wait to see what incredible abilities and feats the heir would possess as they grew and developed their powers.

"Good luck, little one."
