[ A Month Later ]
As I emerged from the shadowy depths of the cave that had been my home for the past month, the first tendrils of morning light kissed my face, warming my skin and filling me with a sense of rebirth. My hair, once a deep auburn, now blazed with a fiery red hue that seemed to glow in the early morning light. The confinement of the cave had aged my teenage body into its prime, my once smooth skin etched with deep lines that spoke of the hardship and pain I had endured.
It was as if I had been cast from some forgotten mold, a creature both ancient and new, a being born of rock and sea and the wild, untamed things that lurked in the dark.
