[ Congratulations on receiving a Training Pagoda ]
[ Training Pagoda: A Primordial Rank Artifact capable of time dilation. It houses a total of nine levels with increasing difficulties, where trainees can spar against various beasts and the perfect version of themselves. ]
Luke's eyes gleamed with excitement as he read the system's notifications. "Well, this is a good reward! Especially for training disciples!" The Training Pagoda was an incredible asset, a place where he could hone the skills of his future disciples and prepare them for the challenges ahead. With the ability to manipulate time, it would allow them to train for years in mere days—an advantage that would make them unstoppable.
He smiled to himself, pleased with the outcome of his first sign-in. But his attention quickly shifted as he remembered the potential disciple he had detected earlier. "Now, let's go check it out!"
In a dark alley, elsewhere in the city, a tense confrontation was unfolding.
Kanae Kocho, one of the Demon Slayer Corps' strongest warriors, stood with unwavering resolve, her Nichirin Blade gleaming in the dim light. In front of her loomed a menacing figure—Upper Rank 2 of the Twelve Kizuki, a demon who had consumed countless humans to attain his terrifying level of power.
The demon grinned, his sharp teeth glinting as he gazed down at Kanae.
"Oh, what a cute little treat here! You're so tiny for a Demon Slayer!"
Kanae's grip tightened on her sword, her eyes burning with determination.
"Shut up, you demon! Tonight is the last night you infest this land."
The demon chuckled, a sinister sound that echoed through the alley.
"Aww, seems like you're sad. Why don't you join me? Join my eternal sect! You'll be eternally happy once I eat you."
Kanae's expression hardened. She knew the danger she was in, but there was no fear in her heart—only a fierce resolve to protect the innocent and to eradicate the evil before her. She braced herself for the battle, fully aware of the stakes.
Unbeknownst to her, Luke had already arrived at the scene, watching from above. He observed the exchange, sensing the demon's malevolent aura and Kanae's powerful resolve. This was a critical moment, one that could shape the future of this world.
Kanae's heart raced, but her resolve was as strong as the blade she held in her hands. The Nichirin sword glinted in the moonlight, a stark contrast to the darkness that surrounded them. Doma, the epitome of demonic elegance, stood across from her, his eerie smile never leaving his face. His dual fans, crafted from his own flesh, were ready to unleash death upon her.
Kanae didn't respond. Instead, she took a deep breath, centering herself. She knew this would be the fight of her life—a battle that could very well end with her death. But she had no fear. She would fight to the last breath, for the sake of those who could not defend themselves, for the sake of her sister, and for the sake of the Demon Slayer Corps.
"LI cant wait to eat you!" Doma said, his grin widening. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed his first attack, the air around them instantly dropping in temperature.
Cryokinesis: Scattering Lotuses
Doma slashed his fans through the air, and a flurry of ice and snow erupted from them. The air filled with shimmering ice lotuses, each petal a razor-sharp blade designed to tear through flesh. They flew toward Kanae with deadly precision.
Kanae's body moved on instinct, her breathing calm and measured. She raised her sword, channeling her energy into her Flower Breathing technique.
Fourth Form: Crimson Hanagoromo
With a graceful twist of her body, Kanae unleashed a single, elegant slash. The blade cut through the air like a dancer's ribbon, curving and twisting as it deflected the incoming ice lotuses. The petals shattered upon contact with her blade, dispersing into harmless snowflakes that melted before they touched the ground.
Doma's grin widened. "Impressive," he said, his voice dripping with mock admiration. "But let's see how you handle this!"
Cryokinesis: Freezing Fog
Doma swung his fans again, this time summoning a thick cloud of icy particles that spread rapidly, enveloping the entire clearing. The fog was frigid, sapping the warmth from everything it touched. Kanae could feel the cold seeping into her bones, her breath crystallizing in the air.
She knew she couldn't stay in the fog for long. The cold would freeze her lungs if she breathed it in too deeply. Kanae's eyes narrowed as she scanned the area, her vision obscured by the swirling frost. She had to find a way to strike without being overwhelmed by the cold.
"Trying to hide from me?" Doma's voice echoed through the fog, disembodied and haunting. "It's no use. You can't escape the cold. It's everywhere, just like me."
Kanae's grip tightened on her sword. She had to keep moving, keep him off balance. She dashed to the side, her feet barely touching the ground as she moved through the fog, her form a blur of motion. She needed to get close enough to strike, but Doma's presence was hard to pinpoint in the swirling mist.
Second Form: Honorable Shadow Plum
Kanae spun around, releasing several rotating slashes from her blade. The sword strikes cut through the fog, deflecting incoming ice attacks that she couldn't even see. She moved with fluid grace, her strikes a defensive ballet that kept the fog at bay.
But Doma was relentless. From within the fog, he conjured a barrage of ice spears, each one aimed at Kanae with deadly accuracy.
Cryokinesis: Wintry Icicles
Kanae sensed the danger before she saw it. She leaped into the air, flipping over the first wave of ice spears. As she landed, she spun on her heel, deflecting another spear with a swift slash. But more kept coming, piercing through the fog with unerring precision.
Her breathing remained steady, her mind focused. She couldn't afford to be caught off guard—not even for a moment. Kanae dashed to the side, narrowly avoiding another spear that buried itself into the ground where she had just been standing. She needed to find an opening, a way to break through Doma's relentless assault.
But the cold was becoming unbearable. Her movements were slowing, the chill seeping into her muscles. She needed to end this soon, or the cold would claim her.
Doma's laughter echoed through the fog, cold and hollow. "What's wrong, little flower? Feeling the chill? Don't worry, I'll make sure you're preserved perfectly."
