Ch.116 Outpost

( Yuto Pov )
" So this the outpost?"
I saw a large castle.
Just as we arrived at the front door, Nero dramatically entered by opening the double door.
Nero:" Ugh, it's dirty." She covered her nose.
Charlotte eyebrows twitched.
Charlotte:" The last squad didn't clean up after themselves."
I turned to Artoria
" Looks like we'll have to clean this place first. "
Artoria nodded.
Scathach:" Well, get to work."
"What am I? a servant?"
Scathach just smiled.
Entering the castle, Artoria and I began to clean up,
* Thud * * Splash *
Nero tripped and dropped a bucket of water.
Nero:" Uuuughh." She just stayed down.
Scathach was sweeping the floor before hitting Nero that was on the ground.
Scathach:" Get to work, Nero."
Nero:" Hey, don't hut me with that it's dirty!"
" Sigh, Nero could get me another bucket of water?"
Nero:" Umu!" She turned to get water from the well.
" You forgot the bucket."
Nero turned around and hurriedly grabbed the bucket.
" Sigh, this reminds me of the time we cleaned the stables." I turned to Artoria.
Artoria:" Yes, it's been so long."
" I always wonder what Sir Ector was doing."
Artoria:" Now that you mentioned it, I did wonder well."
Nero:" I got water!! Umu!"
" Finally, good job, Nero."
Nero:" Umu!"
Putting soap into the bucket and a rag, I rinse out the rag before cleaning the table after removing the dust and junk of it.
Charlotte was sitting outside.
We managed to clean the castle before dawn.

After dinner, Scathach and I were playing a game.
" How the fuck did you create an army so fast!?"
Scathach just smiled.
I held my cards up as I tried to find a way to win.
Scathach already had a large army on the board.
And she wasn't stopping.
So I took out a card that seemed insignificant at first but had a bonus stat against a large army.
With a smug smile, I looked up to Scathach and dropped her cards on the table as she lost.
Scathach:" I call cheat."
" Face it, I won."
Scathach:" Tsk."
It was then I felt Artoria's arm wrap around my neck as she put her chin on my head.
" Wanna Play?"
Artoria:" I'm alright."
" Nero?"
Nero:" .....sure...." She got up from the couch and took a seat between me and Scathach.
Shuffling the cards and clearing the board, I put the deck of cards in the middle of the board after I handed out four cards to Scathach and Nero.
Artoria was watching as she lay her head on top of my head.
As I hold up my four cards, I had two knights, 1 king and 1 dragon.
Scathach put down a knight. Nero put down a queen. And I put down a knight.
With two knights, the queen was slain and lost them in the process. No one picked up a card.
Nero put down a general, which summoned the army on the board. I put down a dragon, which destroyed the army. Scathach put down a queen, which charmed my dragon and turned on her side. Scathach picked up a card.
" Tch."
I put down the knight. Scathach put down a king, and Nero put down an assassin. The assassin killed the king, and the knight killed the assassin.
Picking up a card, I got an archer.
Scathach put down a general. Nero put down a hero. I put down a king.
The hero destroyed the army and sworn to my king. So, I received the hero card in my deck.
Nero on her last card will lose if she didn't get a new one. She put down an elven queen, which summoned the world tree.
Scathach and I looked at Nero as she proudly puffed out her chest.
Nero picked up five more cards and put three down. Which were knight, hero, and archer.
These cards received a buff from the world tree upgrading them to Hero, king, and magician.
I put down the archer, but this archer had a diamond crest, which summons a large number of archers.
Scathach put down the dragon.
The dragon and Magician cancel out, The king died by archers, and the hero destroyed both of our kingdoms.
We lost.
" This is bullshit!"
' I should've activated gambling.'
Scathach:" Sigh."
Nero:" Umu!"
Artoria:" Hmm. what was it you said, Yuto?"
" Said what?" I looked up as Artoria smiled mischievously as she looked down into my eyes.
Artoria:" Skill issue."
" Sigh. Goddammit."

( Charlotte Pov )
' Come on, Charlotte! you can do this!'
I thought to myself as I saw Yuto and his squadmates playing a game.
I tried to find the courage of asking to play so I could be next to Yuto.
Taking a deep breath, I walked into the room, and Yuto was the first to notice.
Yuto:" Oh? Charlotte wanna join?"
' Aaaaahhh, Yuto looks great without his sunglasses.' I froze I place as I lost myself in Yutos eyes.
Scathach:" Ahem! Lady Charlotte, would you like to join us?"
" I don't play childish games." I spoke i a cold voice.
' AAAAHHHH! Why didn't I say that!!?? Yuto probably thinks I think of him as childish!!!"
Yuto:" Hmm? Come on, just a one game."
' YES!! USE THIS CHANCE CHARLOTTE!!!'
" hmph, fine."
I sat down next to Yuto and Scathach.
' Calm down, Charlotte! Yuto might hear my heartbeat going so fast!!'
I saw Artoria leaning her body against Yuto as she also lay her head on his head.
I felt my eyebrows twitched as I felt jealous.
Yuto:" Charlotte."
Looking at Yuto, I noticed it was my turn.
Not knowing how to play, I just put down the card of a woman with wings.
Yuto:" No way!! She got an angle!!?"
Although I didn't show it, I was surprised by his shout, but I also felt pride that I landed something that impressed him.
But thay was ruined as Scathach put down a man with horns.
Scathach:" Demon king. You lost."
Nero:" Umu! An Emperor."
Yuto:" A cursed archmage. I win."
Before, I knew I was having fun. And every now and then, I would peek at Yuto.
I'm sure I was getting used to being this close to him, and I enjoyed every second of it.
